Actually for most exchanges it is required that you have bitcoins to be able to buy altcoins. So first step will be most probably with buying some bitcoins (satoschis). And then you can start monitoring the prices of different altcoins. Always make sure, you know, in what you are investing.

There might be different qualities of white papers. Not sure, which ones you have already read. But in general it is one of the key sources to get more information about the planned project often combined with a roadmap to understand the overall planning of the team. So a "must have" before investing in a coin.

In general to feel the temperature of the market I check as a first thing in the morning the coinmarketcap webside, to also check those altcoins I have identified for my self beeing of interest. Than I also check here in the forum or also try to find any news on twitter. But for twitter I still need to build all the connections.

I like this idea and I am actually impressed looking at their roadmap within whitepaper. Hope you will be able to complete and have early adopters already this year. The only thing I am not 100% sure, how do you differ from e.g. TenX (beside app vs. card) and Byteball?

i'm sorry but i don't see any "strategy" here. you just said how much you want to invest!
the strategy would be saying how would you choose those 6 coins you mentioned. how would you decide if it is a good time to buy? how long will you hold? are you just randomly choosing those 6?
you should first choose a coin that you analyze to be rising then after investing you should choose a time to sell that coin to get the profit out and invest it in the next one.
I full agree with you. I am missing the strategy. The main question, which you need to answer yourself is, do you want to become an investor or do you want to speculate with the coins. Based on this your selection may differ and also your strategy would differ. |

Hodl harder. There is no need to worry unless bitcoin value of your portfolio is dropping. So to translate you statement, i should worry, when alt coins drop faster than bitcoins, correct? Than better now to move to Bitcoin itself? Your thoughts? |

Das Problem beim Pool-Mining ist, dass es da ueblicherweise einen Mindestbetrag gibt, vor dem nicht ausgezahl wird. Bei Minergate z.B. 0.1 Monero. Das schafft man nie zu minen, wenn man keine 8 Graphikkarten hat und eine Stromrechnung, die sich verdoppelt. Andere Altcoins gehen da eher, wie z.B. Bytecoin oder AEON, da kriegt man eher eine Auszahlung, das Zeug ist aber auch nix wert. Also so oder so, lohnt nicht wirklich.
Was aber geht ist POS (Proof of Stake), d.h. man kauft eine ordentliche Anzahl Altcoins und laesst das jeweilige Wallet einfach auf einem alten Laptop durchlaufen. Braucht nicht viel Rechenleistung, nur Internet.
Das mit dem POS/Staken probiere ich gerade. Aber bisher habe nicht wirklich viel Erfolg. Es liegt wohl daran, das man wirklich sehr viele coins davon haben muss, damit man damit erfolgreich sein kann. |

Agree, it is dominated by Bitcoin, but actually it also depends on company itself, which sits behind the altcoin. During the dump itself I had identified an interesting pattern. Obvoiusly POS coin stayed a bit more stable than other altcoins. Probably because most are staking and do not move back and forwards their funds.

I have a hard time to understand your post. What do you mean with "devs do you have a plan how to make a stable rate"? There are different factors which are impacting a coins price. One can be influenced haevily by a developer, which is the technical development and keeping on roadmap of a project behind a coin. Other factor is marketing and overall management, which can be influenced by the company, and in the case of deeponion the marketing also through this strong community. And last is certainly the overall market conditions, which are also impacting the overall price level of crypto coins. |

What I can see from the current markets, POS coins seem to be very, very stable. It might be, because people do not want to loose on staking results. Seeing Deeponion almost unchanged, and ARK and PIVX even climbing in this conditions.
