The monthly update:

September 2020 - so far no storm in sight, but it is getting colder for sure.

Unreal, another month already passed. Autumn has arrived, orange turned into red. Down 7.55 %, 117 pages to catch up. Does everything go down the drain? No! We are 50% up this year and I will have this month my first week off this year. Really looking forward to read you soon!

Gentlemen, I hope you are doing fine and start enjoying the season in comfort! Smiley

The monthly update:

August 2020 - a month of rest before stormy weather?

Just a short update as the workload in this "crisis" has become completely unbearable.  ~30 pages to catch up. Embarrassed

Gentlemen, enjoy the last days of this summer and have a great month of September!  Smiley

The monthly update:

Gentlemen, we are back on track. In July we saw plenty of green, as one would expect from a beautiful summer. It was not that hot and even rained like in the good old times. Really nothing to complain about. I asked myself for a moment if this first regular summer in many years has anything to do with the "crisis" people are talking about for months?

Our mutual friend also took care of his green, up 24.30% last month and 58.60% this year, not that bad. Of course the question is whether the new trend will survive or not. I am not a gardener, but the soil does not look bad in my humble opinion. We halved our daily supply and newly printed "money" has to go somewhere. Paper gold and shitcoins gained as well, therefore the "money" has decided to rain, also in our garden. In general, the volume is not that bad and the futures expiration had, oddly enough, no significant impact (dump) on our path. We are even seeing an AYH now. However, Bob already left the party, kind of, not sure if this is a good sign.

Let's wait and see if we can tear down the next imaginary wall (as 600watt pointed out, it appears to be always the 10k € barrier), I have microwave popcorn ready.

Other than that, how is the "crisis" going? Here it is a little calmer now, instead of 200 maybe only 175% workload. In July I had to train a dozen people in three groups for a new business segment, of course face-to-face in the office. The safety precautions in our office are strange. As long as you are in a room with your group, you do not have to wear a mask, but as soon as you leave the room you do. Since the air conditioning in the building is now on (it was off before to save money), the air is distributed to all rooms anyway. Well, I stick to the rules of this game, the next active case is a hundred or more kilometers from here and people in our region do not tend to travel that far, at least at the moment. The weirdest thing last month was when I got my first haircut in half a year. I can see again, which is handy.

Gentlemen, enjoy the show and stay safe, have a lovely month of August!  Smiley

The monthly update:

Summer, it's definitely summer now. We saw a red hot dot in June. There was not much to observe. Folks are getting lazy, the volume was pathetic. A lot of us just float along with the whales. Good news for all those currently accumulating (be it the first, second, third or... phase). I recently had a look at the accumulated amounts of my recent DCA purchases and have been buying almost the same amount of Satoshis with the same amount of fiat money for the past year. Guess history books will call it the veggie zone? Shocked Looking at the data above, I have to agree it should continue until Q4.

Other than that... still working at home, still double the work for the same fiat salary, the crisis, sure, more work is coming, gathered new (old) business. Exactly the same situation we faced during the last crisis. Well, now we can live in perfect osmosis with our office chairs at home, this is new. My slave owner promised me the first week off this year, my most urgent question is now how and if I will get out of this fraking chair when the time comes, seriously.

Gentlemen, have a relaxing month of July! Smiley

The monthly update:

This spring was only briefly noticeable and now it is summer.

Time for some Hybrid thoughts, how would they have seen it?

Satoshi is the father.
The dragon rides a falcon.
A flu was the spark.
The day when life was given.
Twice the number of enemies and only one more defender.
Legacy leaders promised to recognize some overtime.
The streets of the new world are burning.
Half the reward. Still block after block, page after page, the chain, like a book that will never stop. Until time will end and it does.
A twinkling dinosaur.
The body moulds perfectly into the office chair.
Gentlemen of the Wall Observer, eternity.
The streets of the old world are burning.
All functions nominal.
Let there always be never ending light.

Gentlemen, have a pleasant June, enjoy!  Smiley
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2020, 05:48:09 PM
The monthly update:

Compared to fiat money 34.2 % up last month and 20.48% this year - not that bad.

Finally spring is here, we see the green again. After weeks without rain it has started raining again, ensuring the green does not turn yellow.

Hope you had or will have a pleasant 1st of May, May Day, Workers' Day or Labour Day! Although I'm not sure how the working class should celebrate its enslavement and poverty at the moment while keeping reasonable safety distances. I did it by making my monthly DCA purchase. Smiley

Other than that not much has changed in the last month, many people are still at home and do not know what to do with their regained time. As a result, we are now at 200% workload, more working hours, same payment as before. I should really quit the job, sell some for fiat and relax for a year or two.

Catching up with the gentlemen's thread takes some time these days. However, it always gives me a smile, makes me scratch my head or just enjoy a meme. Thank you all.

Gentlemen, have a lovely month of May, stay safe and keep posting!

But I have no idea where you live, so that might not be a good option for you.
A bit south of Sweden. There are several online shop still indicating they have them in stock, but after contacting by phone they all say they ran out. If you can wait for shipment from China that may work. eventually. Using phones as USB webcam is a mess, require android debug systems, phones overheating, wrong sound source, 2 second latency, etc.

One of the largest retailers here (big enough to keep Amazon out of this country):
https://www.coolblue.nl/en/webcams except for the 2 most expensive, that whole page is "temporary sold out"
Not sure about the application you will need the USB webcam for, your DIY skills and free time, but you can harvest a webcam module from an old/defective notebook you have in your pile of old electronics or aquire locally (this might give an idea how: https://youtu.be/CouxmNqxO4A). Audio would be a second topic, depending on the given hardware.

The monthly update:

Down 10.33 % in the first quarter. Considering the "situation" - this is fine.

Some rambling... Well, I have been waiting for the next "crisis" since 2011 or 2012. Whatever that crisis would be. You have prepared yourself a little, see it coming, don't have to go to the office one day, start growing food, enjoy your hobbies, burning used oil or wood without Greta breathing down your neck and relax while observing others stumble relatively unprepared through it, some adapting well to the new situation, the majority not, right?

Not yet, working from home now with a shitty VPN solution my employer must have pulled out of a vending machine (already got an email they spent xxx k for the entire company and we should be grateful that all are still able to work Lips sealed). The colleague with whom I share my duties has to supervise his children on part-time basis now. No problem, the workload decreases during an emerging crisis... Negative, we are at 150% or something like that, working now 12 hours a day. Feels like the last "crisis" 2008/2009... More work, same payment, be grateful. Roll Eyes

The good news is, I was indeed prepared, have some tp and can (still) enjoy a walk in almost empty streets during my lunch break, this is new, love it.

Gentlemen, stay safe, take care of what is important to you, maybe buy more if you can - you might need it later (not talking about tp), be patient and enjoy the show, whether this is a crisis or not and - last but not least - have a pleasant month of April!

The monthly update:

Not much to report, happy I bought one of the dips last month around 9480 USD. DCA is working fine at the moment. Cheesy

Other than that... got my second flu or something like that this season, even though my hands are sore from all the washing. One of the disadvantages of working in an open plan office. Anyway, the administration already has a plan when the "new flu" finally reaches the city. Our desks and the single toilet for 50 peeps will then be cleaned more frequently. Roll Eyes Probably all with the same wipe. When the time comes, I will put a note on my desk saying please do not clean.

I feel the urge for UVB and miss the green, will we have spring this year in March, please?

Gentlemen, have a great March, stay healthy, wash your hands and use (hand) lotion! #nohomo

PS: And no, not really afraid of the Wuflu, just amused about desperate measures to "stop" it.

Seit Mitte 2018 befinden wir uns im Rehabilitationsverfahren, seitdem sind die Insolvenzforderungen hinfällig.
Das ist zumindest nicht mein Verständnis der Sachlage.
...
Just to be clear...

(onlinesystem registration guide for offline creditors)

- habe vor Jahren bei Kraken das dort empfohlene erledigt...

Siehe hier: https://www.mtgox.com/img/pdf/20200221_announcement_en.pdf

@all
Ja, es scheint sich etwas zu tun. Ich zitiere aus dem o.g. Schreiben:
"The Rehabilitaion Trustee is considering using the online system in relation to creditors voting on the rehabilitation plan and conducting distribution. Accordingly, registering on the online system will enable future procedures to be carried out smoothly. The Rehabilitaion Trustee has set the deadline of the last day of March 2020 for registration on the online system."

The monthly update:

The most exciting January since 2014 and a good start in 2020. DCAing still feels comfortable.

However, as some of you gentlemen already pointed out, its nothing like the good old days. I remember times when you came home after work, turned on the GPU Miner for a few hours and of course shut it down before your HODLsleep because of the electricity bill. After this the FPGAs ran 24/7 and you electricitybill went down. The ASICs got a bit boring, too stable for my liking and even the brother-in-law's grandmother had one. Back to the present day... you invest what you can afford by simply buying the corn. Times are changing, as the amount of corn you can accumulate during a specific time frame. Just checked my books and it looks like three days of casual GPU mining are now equal to one month of slavery. Note to myself: when you have to work one year for the same amount, take a longer break from slavery.

...
At least we are learning some German culture in all of this, so there is that.... little side benefit.
...
No offense, but this sentence is based on so many misconceptions, I don't know where to start. Would be a topic for a separate thread. Wink
For an attempt at clarification, I was NOT at all striving to be disrespectful to German culture or to really say anything about German culture at all except to facetiously respond to what I considered to be the various nonsensical points that Gyrsur was increasingly excitedly spouting about.

Maybe I should have placed a #nohomo tag in there somewhere in order to indicate that my comments were NOT intended as any kind of literally serious assertion about substance?

Please keep providing you monthly updates.........   #nohomo.....  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I appreciate your answer very much and was unfortunately not able to answer in a timely manner due to a lack of... time. Since the subject is already history, just to clarify, Gyrsur had one or two interesting points, which he might have articulated a bit puzzling and rude. Like the charts, German culture also seems to be changing. To be able to discuss this, it would be necessary to define what German culture was or is. Anyway, as a German, I don't attach much importance to this controversial "culture" topic, try to respect the past, live in the present and hope for the future. It is much more revealing to provide the monthly update than to discuss cultural mental states. We are Satoshi. Smiley

Gentlemen, have a great February!

Small question to participants, those with lower guesses if the game would start from today, would you still pick same prices or would a few days as we have had change your minds??
Not at all, as the data for my "TA" did not change at all. Wink

But seriously, who can predict how the honey badger will behave? 6k, 9k or 18k in a few weeks, who cares? Our stake will not change much until then, I guess. Smiley

Here we go again with a generous award sponsored by micgoossens.

The last halving was in July 2016. Let's have a look on the "performance" from March till May 2016: -5.06%, 8.13%, 18.60%.

The opening price on January 1st 2020 was 7160.69 USD. If we base the same percentage values (which we shouldn't  Wink) this will result in a price of 9016.27 USD.

So my guess is 9001-9050 USD.

Thanks a bunch! Smiley

And as always good luck to all participants!

The monthly update:

Not much to say, 2019 was... well, expect the unexpected. ~94% "gains" are not that bad. On the other hand some may have had to reconsider their accumulation strategy and/or switch to some kind of DCA?

Anyway, I wish you Gentlemen a happy and healthy new 2020! Stay as you are, improve where you think you might lack some skills/qualities and make the best of this arising decade (starting this or next year, whenever you think it's appropriate). Smiley

Not sure if the 2020s can be as inspiring as the 1920s, but I hope they will be at least as exciting as the 1980s.

By the way, when do you think mankind had its peak, from a cultural/evolutionary point of view? I think at or around Y2K.

Gentlemen, have a wonderful January!

<snip>

I don't mean to digress into too much sentimentalism here, but it seems like we, in this thread, are becoming a lot more dependent upon your updates on a more regular basis, Dunkelheit667.   I can recall earlier days in which you surely were not on schedule or even regular in terms of posting these kinds of monthly BTC price updates, but now, we are having difficulties going on in life without your updates to confirm where we "are really at."

It's like if Xhomerx10 stopped making hats, we would be fucked.... or at least, our fashion would suffer in terms of getting source based updates - not that I want to change my own fashion.. I tend to be a kind of stuck to habit kind of guy when it comes to avatars, which has transmorphed into hats, and surely, over a year ago, I was reluctant to change my first avatar to a hat, and more recently, Xhomerx10 converted me into a version 2.0... kind of against my will, but it is what it has become.. .so sometimes a guy (or even a gal, if there are any in here?) gotta just go with the flow, rather than fighting the flow, just like with honeybadger and her price movements... it's going to do what it is going to do, and buyers, hodlers and accumulators just gotta go with where-ever she takes us, which seems to be UP in the longer term zooming out perspective (ongoingly confirmed by your monthly chart updates), no?

You are a good observer. I also thought the call was a little early after only being a few hours behind schedule as this was not the first time. Surely exceptional, but within traditional tolerances. Wink

In my humble opinion, we all need our safe places and routines in times of more or less boring sideways actions aka accumulation phase. Such as this thread with its valuable information, traditions and honourable members. So we can stay on the road and not end up in a ditch like others before. It's always a pleasure to share the monthly update (inspired by gentlemand), also to know for myself where we are right now. The bigger the picture, the more details we can see and enjoy (the way up).

That's interesting, I also tend to wear the same style (partly also the same clothes) since... my memories begin. And sadly regret not being able to wear a hat as this would not be a challenge for the hatter, as I can only wear one grayscale, black in black. Cool Going as well with the flow in many other areas as my signature suggest (outside this thread).

Back to hibernation mode, enjoying the flow. Gentleman, have a peaceful month of December, also enjoy a (pleasant) sentimentality as it comes along.  Smiley

Unfortunately a little bit late, kindly excuse the delay. Sad IRL stuff kept me busy.  Undecided

Just caught up with all the posts of you fine WO gentlemen and have nothing to add. It's bitter cold and everthing is going to plan. Not sure what to expect from the honey badger in December. As we saw he's always looking for an opportunity to break out... as long as he's not hibernating. According to the recent poll, most of us are Hodlers and the current price looks like an opportunity to buy, even if you are currently not doing any DCA.

Gentlemen, have a nice December, enjoy the time with your loved ones and stay warm! #nohomo
