1321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MUST WATCH: Account Holder Flies To Japan And Confronts MtGox CEO on: February 15, 2014, 08:24:33 PM
Would you really invite a guy with a camera that would later show that your business treats the customers in an unfair way (those loud ones with camera get money first)?

Like I said, I would hope I was competent enough to avoid getting into this situation to begin with.

I don't really feel any pity for Gox at this point. No matter what they do in that situation they lose, but they put themselves in that situation to begin with!
1322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to bitcoin is buying from MTGOX too big a risk? on: February 15, 2014, 07:57:27 PM
There is far too much risk. Avoid Gox at all costs.
1323  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2014, 07:55:14 PM
From now on, who actually quotes the idiot, get's ignored aswell.  Tongue

If you do this in the speculation forum, you won't have anything left to read.
1324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MUST WATCH: Account Holder Flies To Japan And Confronts MtGox CEO on: February 15, 2014, 07:54:22 PM
- he was not handling a customer, but he handled a stalker / jocker - he did it nicely and politely.

Uhh... that dude is a customer. If I found myself in that position, I would invite the guy inside and manually process his withdraw. I would hope I was not incompetent enough to be in such a position to begin with!

Some businesses operate on the premise that without the customer there is no business.
1325  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2014, 07:50:51 PM
This forum has one of the most lenient spam/troll/idiot tolerance levels I've ever seen.

Mah87, for example, appears to have around 400 posts of nothing more than "BTC crashing buy Ripple!!!"
We also have a nice ignore button so all I get from Mah87 is this user is ignored.

Until someone quotes him.

Yes, it is quite lenient. It really hurts the signal to noise ratio. Eventually your brain adapts and you automatically filter these posts without any conscious action on your part!

Bitcoin is anti-fragile.
Maybe this is the time to note my post was intended to be a joke Cheesy

Meh, my response is valid either way. Smiley
1328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 15, 2014, 07:33:44 PM
Has the warning always been there?  I only noticed it now.
https://www.bitstamp.net/risk-warning/

H O L Y SHIT! This is definitely new.

"Bitcoin trading is probably susceptible to irrational (or rational) bubbles or loss of confidence, which could collapse demand relative to supply. For example, confidence might collapse in Bitcoin because of unexpected changes imposed by the software developers or others, a government crackdown, the creation of superior competing alternative currencies, or a deflationary or inflationary spiral. Confidence might also collapse because of technical problems: if the anonymity of the system is compromised, if money is lost or stolen, or if hackers or governments are able to prevent any transactions from settling."

It has, it's just that nobody ever cared about reading it cause of BTC being a choochoo 2 the fucking moon for months.

Now, we passed the $400 mark, when will we see this magical $500 thingy coming in sight.

Also, don't play with fire. Don't have unprotected sex with hookers. Don't stick you finger into the electrical outlet. Don't piss into the wind. Seat belts save lives.

Chemotherapy isn't painless.
It also has a tendency for causing death.

Bitcoin is anti-fragile.
1330  Other / Meta / Re: Moving threads to other less seen areas is creating problems for newcomers on: February 15, 2014, 07:18:06 PM
OP, you are the dude who always puts threads in the wrong forum, aren't you?

If I want to read about mining, I'll go to the mining sub-forum.

If I want to read about services, I'll go to the service discussion sub-forum.

If I want to read about speculation, I'll go to the speculation sub-forum, etc.

Give the newbies some credit, I'm sure they know how to browse a forum. If they don't, the answer isn't to make everyone else suffer because of it.

You created this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=419374.0

Then you protested for like a week after by creating alt-coin threads in "Bitcoin Discussion". I remember reporting them.

I bet you go to the local public library and move books to random locations because you think the Dewey Decimal System is pointless!
1331  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if I bought gox coins right now? There like $330 on: February 15, 2014, 06:57:36 PM
what if you took that 15K down to the casino and put it all on red?

At least doing that, you know that if you win, they will definitely pay you out.

Oh boy. I agree with MTC. What is the world coming to?
1332  Economy / Speculation / Re: [New Username] - Something Dramatic - Exclamation mark - Exclamation mark on: February 15, 2014, 06:56:15 PM
Great, you've given them a template. Now they won't have to think for 1 - 2 hours before creating a new topic!

Gox is cancer. Removing cancer is a good thing.

I'm boardin' the ship now, goin' on a cruise. Wish me luck.

I'm starting to understand why you recycle barn wood. It's just an excuse to get you on the farm.

Use it for $20 to fill up gas.. for the week..

Are you from the 80s?

I would love to go back to the 80`s.. give me your time machine  Smiley

Love my honda.

My Honda uses about that much gas per week as well. Here is a pic! I only take her out in nice weather in the summer!

I can confirm the same thing happening to me.  The originating address is 1Bhv6XjXBvraivcATHwwLMscZ5xJm9FsPn and the transaction number is https://blockchain.info/tx/84d24e09adb61f6c95ca57338ac8bc548d61b7efa56f593aa581c633112cd886 for 0.00000001 BTC.

Anyone else able to figure what is going on here?

What possible purpose is there for almost 500 transactions sending that amount to ~50 times per txn?

https://blockchain.info/address/1Bhv6XjXBvraivcATHwwLMscZ5xJm9FsPn

It might be the NSA using some new form of hacking to locate Bitcoin addresses in a way we haven't thought of yet.

Smiley

Whatever you do, don't tell them about the block chain. They will locate a lot of Bitcoin addresses in that thing!
1338  Economy / Speculation / Re: $713, stamp is batshit insane. Bull trap or bear trap? on: February 15, 2014, 03:12:03 AM
Definite bull trap

A false signal indicating that a declining trend in a stock or index has reversed and is heading upwards when, in fact, the security will continue to decline.

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bulltrap.asp

Define definite.

1340  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin falling down? on: February 15, 2014, 02:48:20 AM
Your first question may or may not have valid answers. Many things have happened which people will point to as the reason for the drop in the exchange rate. Ultimately it is simply a correction.

The following two are impossible to answer without predicting the future, which I'm sure many people here in the speculation forum will tell you they can do.
