There is a big difference being flagged for riskware coin miners and a specific trojan.  Also a few previous releases didn't have any flags.

624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is UPS NECESSARY? Or Surge protectors enough? sudden power outage kill RiG? on: February 01, 2018, 08:30:28 PM
I don't have a single UPS on any of my rigs. If I did they would only last 1-2 minutes. Getting UPS that can do more than 900 watts is really expensive. You can get them used on ebay and craigslist but I don't think it is worth it. My strategy is to setup my rigs to auto boot and run the mining software...

1 - Set your motherboard to power on when it gets power (in the bios)
2 - Windows to do the following...
   a. apply your overclocks using Overdrive
   b. run your miner software

The only UPS I use for mining is when I am setting up a new rig and I am flashing video card bios...
Oh really, thats giving me bit chill,
Thats nice setting to turn on from bios,
Where you live?
Would there any harm if i keep using without ups?
Still ups are huge expensive, i mean what would those do who have 20+ rigs..
Is this surge protector safe?
https://www.amazon.in/dp/B007T5S0G0/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_OB3CAb7JY673W

Im still not sure about ups, please have some more opinion.
Thanks alot

Sudden loss of power and power spikes "can" kill hardware.  You shouldn't need a UPS unless you experience a lot of brown outs and have inconstant power though.

Site looks like it's legit that they are selling on though the reviews are mixed.

https://resellerratings.com/store/Itdevicesonline_com

If anyone does buy from them, use a credit card and you have protection at least.

Looks scammy, don't lose your money folks.

And you know this is his website how? Use your brain folks.

I know it is not yet available, so it wasn't tested by anyone yet, but what do you think about it considering the specs available on the site (mining-wise)?

E: although 2.27 Kg ... wtf?

The fuck are you talking about? 1070Ti are well known in these parts..... get the hell out of here with this shit.

are you blind?
this model is not yet released
it is in pre-order

He's not blind, you are just dumb.  This GPU has been out since the release of 1070 ti.  Pre-order just means its been out of stock and when it comes in stock you might get one.
628  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Group Buy] The Big GPU GB of 2018 on: January 31, 2018, 04:18:53 AM
I was interested. But how does the MOQ go from 10k units ($350 ea) at $3.5M to 50K+ units at $20M a few days later to now 200K units at $70M 9 hrs. Later. This is either insane or a scam as the numbers keep changing!

Greed and stupidity.  By the time this "deal" comes together Volta will be shipping and no one will want their order.

Is there a way to configure payment id and email in the miner, if yes how because i searched the entire web but couldn't find any info on this.
These settings are important for authenticity and configuring min payouts in some of the pools. Eg : Nanopool.

Please advice.

Thanks.

Tells you on their website how to mine with paymentID.

I work for a defense contractor and am well versed in export compliance.  You cannot ship tissues to Iran to wipe your tears without end user compliance paperwork, please educate yourself.  Your other post are looking for goods from other countries due to this, please don't play dumb.

Pm sent.
So, you work for a defense contractor and thus you know about export law!  Grin

Are you crazy? Since when Pentagon is in export business and has outsourced it to your boss?

Why don't you just shut your mouth when you know nothing?

I want goods from EU because of shipping costs not your  misinterpretation of export regulations.

I'm a citizen of Iran, with no prohibitions for receiving postal packages from my family, friends and business partners in the USA.

Iran sanctions are applicable to some institutions and individuals in Iran which have been explicitly specified by name in the related laws and regulations, there is no single sanction against the people because of their Iranian citizenship per se.

See? You know nothing and just have come here and like an opportunist use every trick to get what you want.
Actually when someone IS a contractor for, or an employee of the US Government, you are under much more scrutiny on doing things by the book than the average CLUELESS citizen. Yes someone who does NOT know could send you computer equipment, but they are NOT supposed to. Get that through your head and move on. Nobody wants to do business with you. No need to explain why as everyone knows....

Either way, glad it's sold and not to ashraffluff..

You rude racist come here and speak on behalf of the community saying 'no one wants to trade with' me? On what basis do you make such a false claim?  This community is focused on decentralization and by no means can be accused of being polluted by discriminative ideas against this or that nation.

I just don't believe even a dick head racist like you have been around so long in such a forum and have not learned anything about the main purpose behind the revolutionary idea of a decentralized monetary system. Bitcointalk should be ashamed of having such a 'legendary' member. Please just stfu because there are educated and intelligent people  who are the true legendary members of this forum and such a cheap, worthless behavior causes nothing less than embarrassment for them.

Actually I'm  feeling regret being a senior member of bitcointalk, already. It is truly a shame, a ruthless racist like you, is not only a member here, guess what? He is 'legendary' Angry

Only a racist would see his statements as racist.  Just take your trolling terrorist shit some where else.
632  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FS: 13 GPU Motherboard Mining Rig - Turn Key! $1200 on: January 27, 2018, 04:26:57 PM
Shaun,

I don't care if you sell your goods to me but selling items to Iran from the USA is a slippery slope...I would do your research around end user compliance and export compliance.

I will purchase the entire lot except the gpu's, send me your price. Sell the rest on ebay.

WTF? You mean selling  a couple of gpus may violate exports law? Who are you to say this? I have received a lot of packages including gpus, mbs, and a lot of more sophisticated devices from US with zero issue. Just STFU and mind your business when you don't have a clue.

avoid selling to terrorists.
633  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Group Buy] The Big GPU GB of 2018 on: January 27, 2018, 03:44:55 PM
Going to tell everyone that this is not legit. If you are willing to fall for this, then you deserve to be scammed. Current backorders on 1070 and tis across the 3 major manufacturers are in the hundreds of thousands, and everyone is willing to pay $500+, while Nvidia manufacturers and custom manufacturers are charging over $400 per gpu and selling out right away. I work with manufacturers, and even p104-100 manufacturers, and guarantee this is not legit. I will contact my Nvidia contact and confirm this next week.

Spewing this bullshit in the BTCP discord, and here. We have been ordering truck loads of cards regularly over the past 2 years from various manufacturers, including direct from Nvidia. Bulk orders get priority. May of this year you didn't know how to build a rig, I'm gonna go ahead and assume your time "working with manufacturers" hasn't garnered you the ability to make the big deals.

Lol, go ahead then. I might not have built mining rigs before this year, but i have been reselling computer parts for multiple years. I run a large resale business for computer parts. Big deals, really? We have ordered many bulk orders, but not recently have you been able to do it directly especially at a rate of $350 per 1070 Ti. I have been getting in many GPU's under MSRP even recently. Its funny how your a january account backing another brand new account, that you do not know anything. Also have you ever done a bulk order from Nvidia, because i guarantee you or your company hasn't. "oh were getting unbranded 1070 ti boards from Nvidia directly $350 a pop), thats a complete load of bullshit. Ordering from Nvidia is a lot harder to do, and they are not open for these measly small orders. Also their bulk for 1070 tis along with all the other manufacturers is a lot higher than $350 per card. MSRP has increased on the cards, due to all the shortages on ram, micro processors, micro pcbs, etc. You cannot get a 1070 ti under $425 each from manufacturer shipment even if you ordered $10 million worth.

Its funny how a brand new account, listing a website that is new and linked to a building that is available for rent. No suite number, nothing.

First of all this is much larger than a $10million order, second of all he told me on the phone how his partner is with Kingston and helped them work out a deal to get NVIDIA memory they needed in return for allowing this group buy to take priority. Amir also is accepting escrow, but if you are not comfortable with that he is accepting the other method of payment through your own bank where the funds don’t leave your account until you have inspected and approved the merchandise, which Amir said we could fly out to the port where they will be arriving and inspect ourselves or have an Agent do it for us. I’m driving to Manhattan Sunday to sit down with one of my partners and with Amir and Evan to discuss in further detail, if anyone has any specific questions you would like me to ask in person feel free to let me know. And just because you can’t or haven’t brokered a deal of this size doesn’t mean nobody has the skills or resources to. But please if you have a contact at NVIDIA let’s see what they say. I’m not sure them not knowing about this deal would mean anything I’m sure there are many, many people there who know nothing about it.

Kingston RAM on 1070 ti's?  Going to be fun to watch this unfold.  Kiss
634  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FS: 13 GPU Motherboard Mining Rig - Turn Key! $1200 on: January 27, 2018, 05:22:00 AM
The more than $5.5 per day per your calculations comes from mining Electroneum. Willing to escrow as well. PM's have been turned on.

2100h/s for ETN is like $4 a day at current price/difficulty.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: January 25, 2018, 11:24:43 PM
4x 1080ti using ahashpool24 past 24h = 0.00191 btc, which is 5,4$/card.
Very disappointed...

same, very low income rly disappointed

Probably best to just sell your rig then.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 12 card rig, 3 server psu +PICO on: January 25, 2018, 02:42:49 AM
So if i have this right a lot of the pain in this thread couldve been avoided by using a different bb?
such as the one below:
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/DPS-1200FB-QB-6-Pin-A-Power-Supply-Breakout-Board-Adapter-For-Ethereum-Mining/362215797541?hash=item5455be7325:g:JTgAAOSw4HNaXu0v

Or am i missing anything. Sure i only have 10 pcie cables vs 12 but maybe i wouldnt use a pico then since can get an extra 2 pcie with atx

or a properly wired 6pin to CPU 8pin to plug directly into the motherboard and avoid the pico 4pin plug altogether.
637  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Warning - escrow EVERYTHING - anatomy of a scam on: January 24, 2018, 09:59:24 PM
Not just the cost of the miners you purchase. Escrow shipping as well.

A thread like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2757777.0

Seems normal, and the buyer says he accepts escrow - which he does... but requests shipping charges upfront. He will charge you for shipping per unit, and if you purchase more than one unit, that can add up.

Once you pay the shipping, and tie up your bitcoin in escrow, he moves on and stops responding. If you use a service like EscrowMyBits, your BTC is tied up for 7 days and you pay the 1% escrow fee. Additionally, by locking the thread, he can keep out bad reviews.

Scammers abound, but remember: escrow EVERYTHING. Do not pay ANYTHING up front.

639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining room Cooling on: January 23, 2018, 06:30:46 PM
can anyone recommend a simple cooling setup for a basement, i have only a 3-gpur rig now but would like to add a bunch more. Would like to just to have them on those plastic shelving units. They are in an unfinished basement area right now. There's a small window with a window well that i could use, plus another one at the other end of the room.

I'm thinking roughly of some sort of box/container/tent to store the rigs and thus confine the heat, with some kind of exhaust system that could pump air in and out of the window. Any ideas of where to start on this? the more straightforward the better.

Grow tent with 6 or 8" intake/exhaust fans.

Anyone else having GPU fans failing spectacularly?

Sewing machine oil and a syringe does wonders for fans.
