401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Who ordered the AMD Radeon VII? Lets make a list of Miners / Hashrates / Coins on: February 18, 2019, 08:08:23 PM
Found on twitter:
https://twitter.com/BitsBeTrippin/status/1097235591798968320

"4 hour stream today of iteratively testing the @Radeon VII with beta driver 19.2.2 showed max of 92.6mh eth, 2982 h’s on XMR v8, 26.1mh on RVN, 2622 h’s on bittube and 4.63 gps on GRIN29"

Power draw: around 260W.
RVN no surprise, there's no good AMD miner yet anyway. ETH and XMR as expected, I think Teamred can extract more out of the VII's if they have time to do so (they might just ignore the current version as the fork is imminent anyway).

C29, meh. I'm however more interested in a good C31 figure if anyone can provide one. I expect this to be a lot better.

Wildrig miner works pretty good for RVN.  Stock clocks and negative power limit seems to work best for me.

as soon as eth move to progpow then amd is done for within the crypto stratosphere hehe

I myself would want coin devs to develop a progpow idea into a new algorithm for amd gpus, nvidia took over already. I like the days when amd gpus were far more efficient than nvidia and yet far cheaper too. The way things are going, soon nvidia will price their gpus starting $500 entry level, $1000 midrange and $2000 - $4000 high end.

So far no other gpu beats rx 470 on ethash x efficiency.

Devs already said they are working on AMD optimizations for prog.
403  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] [US] Pair of 1080TI rigs, built by VoskCoin and Remote Mine, respectively. on: February 15, 2019, 06:51:59 AM
The first rig was built by Vosk at the end of 2017, and consists of four cards.  The second rig was built by Remote Mine (run by Corbin Pointer and Manraj Gill) in early 2018, and is half empty.  Both rigs were used about half a year, then shut down when Remote Mine closed with hardly any warning (refusing even to break down the rigs and sell them).  The rigs then got shipped to Utah, where a prospective host failed to make use of them since.

As for the price, there's nothing stopping people from haggling, is there?  However, it's inappropriate to come into my thread, make a bunch of faulty assumptions about the hardware, and then urinate on my suggested price for it.  Roll Eyes

I will entertain counter-offers, but nothing so silly.  Thank you.

"inappropriate", that's funny.  Your best bet is to hold onto this overpriced hardware even longer just to spite us.

Pair of 1080TI rigs, built by VoskCoin and Remote Mine, respectively.

Six cards in all; used only half a year.

2 BTC for the lot.

Pick up in Salt Lake, or pay for shipping.

Not quite sure how you get to $7200 for 6 1080ti's.  Is that a special Vosk edition tax? Roll Eyes
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you guys mining with your AMD cards? on: February 13, 2019, 07:20:46 PM
Waiting on RYO coin to fork to cryptonight-GPU on the 14th. apparently ASIC and FPGA resistant lol

Hopefully that will be profitable for a little bit before summer hits!

3.76 Mh/s total hash. I don't think forking is going to help with profits.

Looks like Monero is finally going to fork to solve the issues with all these FGPA/ASICs. The fork is very soon and the algo isn't even out yet. Seems like a very rushed job.

Wondering what the profits will be like. I am assuming it will be profitable for a week or 2 and then many of the ETH miners will switch back to XMR and it will become unprofitable as it was before.

I think it took 2-3 days for the difficulty to normalize after the last fork.  Then after that it was only like 2 days of good profit before all the CPU bot nets and conspiracy theory fpga/asics hopped back on board.

Didn't this turn out to become a scam?

Yes, the OP is a total fucking moron scammer.

Price $50,000 (Shipping included in the contiguous United States)

So for 50k you are only offering the "EZ Tank" and no miners ?

I hope you have done a bit of research on current pricing of these containers, which can be purchased for a fraction of the cost with similar specs.

Unless you have something inside which makes these worth the 50 grand that other container makers dont?

thanks!

Can you provide me examples of the mining containers you are referring to so that I can understand what you are comparing to?  Cause cheaper ones we have looked at have problems things such as insufficient airflow or sensors to regulate fan speeds, don't have electrical systems up to code, don't have redundant electrical safety, etc

So what companies are you talking about that are making these amazing inexpensive miners?  im sure they would love the free promotion.

Well this company does something similar for more reasonable prices.

At your price range this seems like a much better safer deal with faster shipping.  They also have 8GB version for $20 more.

better come fully loaded with miners for that price  Roll Eyes
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: FIX YOUR DEAD GPUS on: January 21, 2019, 11:24:52 AM
You forgot the oldest trick in the book.  Shove the GPU in the oven at 400 degrees and bake it for 30min.  This of course contaminates your oven with poisonous led and then you slowly kill yourself over time when you cook in it.   Roll Eyes

415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Termal Paste ? on: January 02, 2019, 11:27:00 PM
New thermal paste on the vram chips can boost this, but i think no one will change the thermal paste for every card. To much work for a little bit better hashrate.

Never seen anyone put Thermal paste on vram.  Maybe you meant to say thermal pads.  Pads are used because coolers aren't always fit properly to cover every area that needs cooling so the big gaps need to be filled to make contact with the heat sink.

Saw this in one of the discords.  This was posted and Ethpill was removed.

Complete overpromise and underdeliver!!!!

I'm just waiting for the next excuse to come up and it being delayed another month(s)

Could be much worst, You could have ordered a dcr1 obelisk and got rekt.  No delivery, no product, 1 year delays, negative profitability. USA companies struggle to compete with china companies for delivering mining products.

I have to say that what fascinates me the most are those people who are constantly discussing (on Discord) some mods involving Acorn and all the subtleties of mining ZEN Protocol, without any concern about gains, money and time wasted. This is unreal to me.
People who believe the software will come are currently spending their time tweaking and enjoying the hardware they have on hand. Not sure what you don't get.

I do not get how much they think their time is worth. In Ontario, Canada minimum wage is C$15/h :-)

What is that $7 USD?  Roll Eyes

Hey Dok,

Have you played around with the new Adrenalin 2019 drivers? Do you plan on supporting them and optimize SRB on them??

I wouldnt touch these until they have fleshed out more bugs.  It's a crash fest while trying to tweak multiple GPU's.
420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: December 10, 2018, 06:19:05 PM
I picked up four pandaminer B3 Pros for $400 a piece last week on Craigslist.  They looked like they have never been turned off for a year or cleaned, but they cleaned up super easy and work great.  I am able to get these 470 4GB to pull 900-950h/s on cryptonite heavy at around 900w with srbminer.
How many of those 470's are fitted in one Pandaminer B3?
Theoretically it's a good deal, but if you pay anything north of 10c per KWh the box isn't currently profitable. So you're essentially banking on prices going back up no matter what.

Each one has 8 GPU's.  Difficulty is way down so i'm able to mine a lot more than i normally would.  I expect a rebound and I don't need to sell my mined coins to pay for anything so I just hold for the opportune time to sell.
