I would like to officially confirm that Blaater is the owner of the Casascius 2012 1 BTC coin (1Css1766). If I may add, the 2012 coin is in remarkable good condition, any collector would be proud to own this coin.
Good luck to all with this raffle.

Hej Lasse,

Dang.... that CI 2oz. is tempting!!!
Too bad all my Bit-Korns were used for X-mas presents....
soon.... soon....
Is there any interest for an auction for the CI 2 Oz coin? My starting price would be 0.75 BTC ish. I got a few tempting offers, but not as close to my ask price as I had hoped.

My bid is withdrawn. my previous buy has arrived and it was sent in a paper envelope that has been split open by someone. http://imgur.com/a/iJYKWthis isnt acceptable packaging for items that are worth hundreds of $ - please respond to my PM and if we can get to a resolution I will come back and bid again. please be aware buyers - shoddy packaging leads to lost coins. Did you loose the coin? or was the coin still there despite the weak packaging.

They are funded with 0.001 Btc.

Did I read that right?
You are auctioning all 10 coins in a single auction with a single possible winner?
I believe it will be like his previous auctions, where you bid on a specific coin serial. All 10 in one lot would just be madness

By now, is this definitely a classic piece Good luck to all the bidders

It is not possible to find a time where the entire globe is awake. I normally use late evening in GMT - e.g. 11 PM (GMT+0). Then would it be midnight in mine (and OP's time zone) GMT+1 .... and morning in US. I can also recommend to use the code: [time] <unix time here> [/time] I never had a end-time confusion in my auctions after I started stating the end time in unix time with the time tag.

Plz add me to the list
CI what does the “Antique Design” means? is that unpolished? The coins in the pictures looks pretty shiny to me (I like shiny things). If possible, can you then make a close up of the coin that shows the finish?

Personally, I take possession of my dies after coins are produced. While I can't speak for Mike, given his stance on security, I would imagine he also took possession of his dies.
As for how he was able to sell them so cheap... The brass is only worth about $0.05, I imagine it probably cost $1 per unit for the minting fee, and at $2 he could have been doubling his money (see my below post w/ link showing that his total cost could have actually been lower than $0.50 each). The question you should be asking, is how are current coin producers able to get away with copying Casascius' idea and then charging a $75-$500 markup for what is essentially a knock off.
Current coin producers are doing it to earn a profit (I have no problem with that btw.). Mike had a political agenda, his goal was to teach the world about bitcoin.
