401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Guild / UN-EX Discussion on: June 30, 2015, 07:29:15 PM
Also, it is important to note, the Guild didn't close because one person talked trash. It closed b/c the moderators believed that it had run it's course and it was taking a lot of each's personal time and financial resources.

In any event, if people would like to do off-exchange transactions, the UNO-EX BCT page is still available:

But imagine you're IMZ and dealing with a madman willing to crash the market just to get his way.
It is a heavy burden, if it comes down to a shoot out.

Personally I wouldn't might the market taking a hit if in the long run it lances the boil.

I can say with complete confidence that his actions would not crash the market...

So a single hitler-troll is able to do this?  Roll Eyes
Only if people buy into the hype.

I'm not sure why everyone is so down. The future of $UNO is bright. Lot of good things going on here.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Guild / UN-EX Discussion on: June 29, 2015, 08:33:18 PM

This thread is in the wrong section btw. Moving it to 'alt discussion' or 'altcoin service discussion' or somewhere else is probably more appropriate?

LMAO, I am so inept on computer message boards, I have no idea how to move it. Is there a way?

As for the uproar about the Guild, it really took me by suprise as I had never heard anyone utter a negative word about it. Then, all of a sudden, there's a Gekko tidal wave of ultra-violence about it!  Suddenly, it's over with. I'd traded several times in several media there, always with success. If someone posted a price that stunk, one simply didn't buy...
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Guild / UN-EX Discussion on: June 29, 2015, 08:07:33 PM
People shouldn't take Gekko too serious imo.

He's ranting, so what?

Also i don't get why you would close down the guild?
I know the guild took a lot of time and money to operate. I understand that if one is not getting traction, one backs off the gas for a bit. Maybe they can shelf it for six months and then return to it...

As for Gekko, I've worked with guys like that for years. The point with which I take issue has to do with your living room analogy. I'm not looking to be in my living room, but at the same time, we profess $UNO to be the pinnacle of crypto.

If that is the case, as a newcomer, do you expect discussions that resemble a walk into an NFL locker room at half time? The language and brow-beating are over the top...that behaviour is simply unprofessional.

If I were new and popped in and saw that, I'm not sure that I would have stuck around.

Agreed, also, we're trying to move this discussion to its own thread here:

Yeah, tomorrow or today (depending on where one is) is going to be a very interesting day. The ATMs are already out of money!  Tongue

Cool, I'm not very tech savvy. Is that something that sends you the text of the discussions? What is it called?

My suggestion is to move this whole Guild / UN-EX discussion out of the main thread as it is wasting a bunch of space and it doesn't really concern many of us.

I have setup the following link for discussion:

Shame on anyone who supports trading outside of public transparent, reported and legitimate markets. Shame on you.

I am confused, does your logic indicate that by trading some $UNO in exchange for fiat in-person to my brother, that my transaction is illegitimate and that my trustworthiness should be called into question? Or, since you are interested in closing your position, what if a syndicate were to PM you directly with an offer, is that unethical to the UNOverse?  I am not being flip, simply trying to understand your position.

Further, while I applaud and support your efforts on the Chinese market, I find that your angry tone and delivery is certainly as damaging or more so to the community's reputation in the marketplace as any confusion created by UN-EX on Reddit...

Again, as a decentralised organization, why cannot we all follow pursuits that we deem important?
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 27, 2015, 09:43:39 PM
Hi tertius!

I am also for more distribution of our beloved coin! That is why I supported Gekko in his Chinese efforts to translate the page and to find a "hero" that could bring $UNO to the far East. I sent considerable sums in that regard.

At the same time, I also support IMZ's experimentation with metal-backed $UNO instruments and trusted-trader arrangements.

The two ideas each add value to the community and are mutually-exclusive. Why must I support one and not the other?

If Blueman wants to open an $UNO art exhibit in Novosibirsk to market his art to promote the coin, why can't those of us that see value in that endeavour fund it? It does nothing to harm the coin?

That's where I am confused. Most that have been here for the long term have never been in a hurry for success. I'm not sure what the rush "to build" up the valuation is.  There are a ton of good things going on with the Blazr2's return, MM, the new wallet, the Chinese project, silver-bar purchasing, the Guild, etc.

Support what you will, provide constructive criticism to efforts you don't. Live and let live!

EDIT: How could I forget the Android wallet - a MOST positive development!   Cheesy

It is a computer code in which some individuals deem to have intrinsic value.

I am at least glad to know you understand that.
Hey siameze, glad that you are still here!
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update to 0.10 Wallet - Merge Mine w/BTC! on: June 27, 2015, 07:32:28 PM
This hateful discussion has grown very long in the tooth...please, let us retain a civil decorum.

As for the charges of manipulation or "insider trading," let us take a look.

This is an English and American legal construct in which insiders, using private, non-public information, buy shares or sell them short in an effort to extract gains from a Company's publicly-traded security.

In brief, $UNO is not a security, nor is it a publicly-traded company.  Also, an insider is defined as an owner, director or any shareholder controlling 10% or more of the security. Unless, IMZ is Wolong, IMZ does not rise to the definition.  Further, even if IMZ did own that much, it is still irrelevant simply because $UNO is not a corporation or a security. It is a computer code in which some individuals deem to have intrinsic value.

If UNO-EX / Guild are deemed by the community not to be official / sanctioned pieces of the $UNO programme, then the reference should be removed or modified to make it clear that UNO-EX / Guild are an experiment run by interested $UNO holders on the official $UNO website.

Now, please, let's move forward to do what we can do to build $UNO and each other up instead of tearing everything down.

My 2c...

I wonder also how this community going to look like after 10 or 20 years from now?
A little older.  A lot richer.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to arguing not about $UNO, but instead at whose island we will be having our get-togethers.  Wink

@learminer

I don't exactly know what the ticker looks like, are you going to offer quotes from all $UNO exchanges?

If so, how about a detailed quote on a hover of the mouse over the price and then a direct open of the trading page of the respective exchange with a click upon it?

Anyway I am happy you are here man.

I'm fairly certain there isn't a soul here who is not glad that blazr2 has joined us again!

Just like old times!

Devs:  yes. that. is. of concern.  [actions speak louder than words]   John D. Died for You Society, there is hope, and possibly kilos in bounty for your return as Lead Dev.  Capt. Chadd, there is hope, that the past is the past and that is done by action, show us.  Cogburn, ha, proof of work, as ye said long ago.  Ye are still short a few inches, but, POW we have MM.   Others, keep up the good work there is lots of talent in the community, don't be shy to show off.  Back to Capt. Chadd be that, unotard thread needs a vocal and present dev. There is a void, O Captain, to be filled.

Very well. I thank IMZ, craigv, and all you others for the fun. I have no other interest in this coin or thread.
If you want to dump your holdings, please PM. I'd be glad to pick up your dust...

I know this because I am in S America and not one wallet is listed here. Does anyone know why that is happening?

I did not know we had UNO reps in SA. Hablas Espaņol?
Por desgracia, hablo Espanol mal.

I travel frequently in Central and South America; however, I almost always have a translator with me. I'm sure if we needed a Spanish translation page, one of them would gladly assist.

I speak Spanish and have knowledge of bitcoin protocol. I am miles ahead of your nearest translator.
Yes Madam / Sir, you certainly are. Thanks for all of your contributions to the $UNO effort!  Smiley
