1  Economy / Digital goods / WTB Dropbox 25 or 50GB coupon code on: May 20, 2015, 02:11:36 PM
I am interested in buying a dropbox coupon code for 25 or 50GB.

Payment via bitcoin or paypal with escrow unless you have a reputation here or ebay.
2  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Ztex 1.15y boards on: May 28, 2014, 08:20:38 PM
I am looking to buy Ztex 1.15y boards and possibly other dual/quad FPGA boards.

Let me know what you have and your asking price. Please note that I have a rather limited budget, since this is not for a cryptocurrency ROI-ing project.

I can pay in BTC or via paypal. Shipping would be to the EU.

Refunds are processed in USD via bank transfer, only in some circumstances where it may not be possible to refund via bank transfer, our management can approve a BTC refund. BTC refunds are not given for single Neptune purchases.

KnC sucks at this point. I don't understand the logic behind not giving BTC refunds for single Neptune orders. Knowing that they have 5PH mining at this moment this seems a bit stupid. Also only one time per week? Wtf? I can have my refund in 5 mins with BTC, but i have to wait a few days for them to wire the money and then another few days to get it. Sad times. KnC you let me down!

In case you wanted to sue them it would be difficult for them to prove in a court of law that they sent you a refund "on the blockchain". They have no other option than to send bank-document-verified transfers.

The party is about over boys and girls.

BTC is $422 USD

Every week is new bad news.

Silk Road

Gox

KNC screwing you over

US makes Bitcoin Property

China

There will be new bad news every week and Bitcoin will be down to $100 in 60 days if this continues.

Question is why would you not refund every single order you have pending where ever a refund was possible?

Any other insightful predictions ya need from me?

Going to mine 24-25 BTC with your KNC Neptune? If not than you are screwed because you paid 10 grand for it.

Each bit of bad news kills BTC by $100

3 more bad stories and we are at $100

5 more stories and its over BTC will be at $10, All companies will close, bankruptcy everywhere.
Difficulty too high on a currency worth $10. Game over.

The beautiful thing is that BTC gets stronger when the price goes down after a high since it becomes less profitible to create large mining operations and that works toward better distribution of hashing.  I'm glad that the technical foundations of bitcoin are still undefeated and that sends a good message for long term growth. I always felt that a price above 600 is short term anyway. I think we all got carried away by our visions of riches. My precious...

Knc will give us updates and maybe upgrade boards once competitors do begin shipping, and by competitors I mean the above, not Antminers, though I do appreciate the latter is contributing to difficulty increasing.

Why would they hold off for those outfits specifically?  HF is shipping, ngzhang claims 5.1PH of Avalon gen2 chips have shipped and they're increasing production.  Bitmain (even though you're discounting them) have shipped a tonne of hardware.  Bitfury and his re-sellers are still shipping in-hand product.  Bitmine has their first lot in and are moving into production.  This concept that KnC is sitting here waiting for Cointerra, BlackArrow (lol), and/or AMT (lol) to ship before offering upgrades is a bit ridiculous.

Here's a theory:  KnC has their own mine.  They cannot control what other manufacturers are shipping and are at their mercy regardless.  What they can control is their own product.  By not adding module or Jupiter (or whatever) sales, they are stemming the tides to protect their own interests.  Perhaps they're trying to recover their own ROI (BTC -> BTC) before undercutting themselves by selling more KnC gear to consumers.

Wow, you didnt even mention BFL. Thats just plain rude! Tongue

Wink KNC will ship new Jupiters soon I'm sure Wink

If they do that it will likely push neptunes into Q2. I'll probably drop my neptune order in that case. I hope they put out some updates soon.

I think a lot (not all) of the tinkering people were doing were just guys that can't help but fiddle with everything electronic or mechanical, lol.  Remember the "ionizer guy"?  Wink

The ionizer topic was very entertaining! Maybe if we all start approving it we can start a religion? And maybe sell a few "miner overclock kits" to some BFL customers? ;P
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What happens to a solo miner... on: January 13, 2014, 10:45:55 PM
Missing my point Cheesy I know the difference is a miner with 1Gh/s will be solving 100 times less hashes. My question is, if they were to solve the same single hash together, would it be at the same speed. Smiley

You already have the miners' speeds given, 1Gh/s and 100Gh/s, so I think you are asking about something else then speed.

If you are asking about the time it would take miner A and B to solve a single hash I think there are two possibilities:

1) Miner B will solve it 100 times quicker

2) Miner A and B will solve it in the same time, but miner B will be able to accept 99 more hashes during that time (parallel processing).

My guess is that it is a mix of both leaning more towards (2).

We the community [...]

Don't ever speak on my behalf again. I think you are feeling a bit too self-righteous having joined this forum not 3 months ago.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork The Blockchain And Block The Seized FBI Coins. on: January 12, 2014, 01:32:11 PM
We as a community can reject these coins all on our own.

That's quite a good idea and it is your privilege to accept/deny anyone's coins. Good luck with doing that after coin mixing transactions. I also hope an organization that you support doesn't get it's coins "banned" in such a way.

As long as you don't mess with the network I don't care what anyone does on an individual basis, so I'm ok with your concept, but not necessarily support it.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork The Blockchain And Block The Seized FBI Coins. on: January 12, 2014, 12:53:31 PM
They are [...] likely planning to dump onto the market to cause a flash crash

1) You really have some insider information on FBI plans, don't you? (sarcasm)
2) We should seize bitcoins of every large wallet, because they are planning on dumping btc (sarcasm)

While I might or might not like what happened to DPR and might or might not like the FBI I think you are crazy if you think that people will keep believing in bitcoins if such decisions and actions are made by "the community".

Another issue is that "the majority" (as I understand it, a synonym for "the community") is not the best source for decision-making. Statistically speaking the majority tends to be average and while they may make good short term decisions, I don't think they will make good long-term decisions. I am not at the same time advising "a bitcoin goverment", but just ruling against making any decisions such as confiscating bitcoins by anyone.

The truth is not always as others present it or even as facts present it. Related movie: 12 Angry Men

those of you that are mining in the 500 to 700 are you all in pools, is it immposible to solo? and if so what kind of btc are you getting per week

I was mining in a pool with 680 GH/s and getting more or less what the roi calculators estimate. That is ~BTC0.45 in the previous difficulty period (908,350,862). I was thinking about solo mining, but I got the impression that it doesn't make sense if you are not able to hit a block within a difficulty period. Maybe someone can correct me, or not, since this is off topic.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 25, 2013, 11:31:12 AM

November Jupiters have been hashing at ~700GH/s

consistently?

links please.

My Jupiter was consistently doing 679 GH/s and I've seen similar rigs being sold on eBay, so the "circa 700" seems credible. I did also see a lot of 650 and 660 GH/s so of course not all of them got close to 700.
14  Economy / Auctions / KNCMiner Neptune 3TH/s preorder on: December 19, 2013, 07:12:50 PM
I would like to sell my KNCMiner Neptune preorder from batch 2. Order number is 139xx paid by wire transfer on Dec 3rd. My guess is that this is in the first 25% of batch 2 orders.

Starting price is $14,500 in increments of $500.
Auction end time: Dec 23rd 23:59:59 UTC

Accepted payment methods are: bitcoin & wire transfer.
No escrow is available for the order value of $13,200 due to the extended wait period, however I should be able to provide enough information to prove my credibility. Escrow is available for the amount above what I payed to KNC.
Payment deadline: Jan 3rd 2014 (taking into account holidays. extendable if deposit is provided)

I am not sure if KNC can transfer orders or change shipping address to a different country. I am assuming that I will need to reship, so buyer pays for shipping from Poland, EU. I should also be able to provide hosting for the miner.

Good luck bidding and may Santa Clause reward the winner appropriately afterwards.

15  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: My Steam Account - Valued at $840 + on: December 16, 2013, 11:50:43 AM
I bid BTC0.08. Not a lot, but I already have most of those games so the value is a relative thing.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 11, 2013, 10:33:42 AM
I received 2 November Jupiters yesterday that are both hashing at 670ghs on average at BTCGuild with a LOT of variance. The 72 hour graph fluctuates between 640-711ghs. My Oct Jupiter has much less variance at 560ghs average.

I'm seeing the same thing, but I thought it was normal due to peak network congestion and packet latencies. Mine goes from 649 to 709.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Product Failures / Underperformance. on: December 03, 2013, 04:38:37 PM
My Little Single came hashing at 7.8GH/s. Sometimes at 0 or 3GH/s every n-th power cycle.

If BFL is doing QA, is it really possible that so many units arrive dead or defected?

knc isn't perfect...but would you rather be waiting for your BFL???
AND yes, you have to be on your toes in the bitcoin mining world, blink and you missed it!!

Ironically, I got my BFL Little Single 25GH* the very same day that Jupiter arrived. Would've been almost ok even after 6 months of waiting, except the LS does 0-15GH depending on my luck turning it on. I also ordered some asicminer chips that Yifu never delivered. So KNC turned out to be my best investment up to now. Hit ignore on the complainers so we don't feed them.

Who the hell got free boards or special treatment from KNC? And how and why did they get that treatment, freebies?

Also, some people are just passive and like to turn around and take it up the ass...that's just the way some people are, human, right?

[...]

Haters will be haters... Jealousy is retarded since someone getting freebies does not change *your* situation and Pheonix is in full disclosure so a big plus for that.

It's not just a haters situation when many people were plagued by the same issue, and only one of them got resolution. I believe that's the point some folks were making.

Ok, point taken. Except did anyone get a miner lower then spec'ed? Yeah there is the problem that when they advertised 550gh then that became the spec even if not in the contract. Adding to that the upgrade situation was messy. However by now I kind of expect everyone to take miner manufacturers' words with a giant grain of salt.
