FSS LLP were allowed to pick a date. And the banks were asked to verify balance on that date. It's not like Tether can go back in time, and put money into the account on the chosen date. It's like what some people do signing bitcoin messages. "As of this time, this address is under my control, and has this amount of bitcoins in it." Then a few days later, the BTC moves to another address. But you can all see it in the blockchain. banks could learn from blockchain and adapt some features. Can not be that hard to make account information like balance and transaction public viewable. a additional online banking feature where account owners can control the access to this information by some kind of api. I bet banks will do things like that to fight bitcoin.

Well, at least somebody is trying to hold "The bottom" up... . (Mic post some good pic) Confirmed. Bottom is being held up. Sometimes I feel like my biggest contribution to this thread is butt pictures, but I guess that's good enough. Actually, this is the best post in this thread, in the last two weeks. we need a button observer thread!

https://satoshis.place is driving Lighting innovation via real-world stress testing. Over 8,000 daily users, 8,000,000 pixels drawn, and 3,000 settled payments. Lightning devs are writing performance patches in direct response to feedback provided by @LightningK0ala that's more activity then the top 10 ethereum dapps combined. here is a time lapse video. so NSFW, much dirty: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9BMILCC1hY&feature=youtu.be

Looking at these graphs makes me think that BTC is ON TRACK TO MOON LANDING as long as hashrate continues to climb.
IMO hashrate is following the price. we would see decreasing hashrate when the bitcoin price is to low for to long. if there is no money left to pay power bills hashrate will fall fast.

I find way more probability that the moon landing and some of that crap about men going to the moon to be a lot less likely to be true than the nonsense that is spouted out about the earth being flat...
Oh my fucking god you've got to be shitting me dude.... I don't see what is controversial about my statement... which part of my statement is controversial? my doubting of the moon landing or my confidence that the earth is not flat? There is no controversy for either of those things. Though one is moronic and the other obvious. If you need to know which is which,I really can’t help you.... Great. you present your ideaurers about what is possible or probable so clearly, sir. And, I would rather not communicate in puzzles, anyhow. Edit below: Added another response to sirazimuth. I find way more probability that the moon landing and some of that crap about men going to the moon to be a lot less likely to be true than the nonsense that is spouted out about the earth being flat...
By the way, a faking of the moon landing is not even close to the same level of flat earth luny beliefs.
make up your mind Jay.... I am not saying anything that is inconsistent, unless you are merely misunderstanding what I am saying, which could be your seeming purposeful attempt to read me out of context. A desire to pick a fight, rather than attempt to clarify... correct? Great. ok Jay I will clarify... your statement and "I find way more probability that the moon landing and some of that crap about men going to the moon to be a lot less likely to be true than the nonsense that is spouted out about the earth being flat” paraphrased....is you believe moon landings are less likely to be true than a flat earth.... amirite? Exactly how am I taking that out of context or misunderstanding you? Or did you misspeak and actually mean that the moon landings are MORE likely to be true than a flat earth? Your next statement .... quote "By the way, a faking of the moon landing is not even close to the same level of flat earth loony beliefs" unquote ... is kind of silly because both positions are binary. You either believe men landed on the moon or you don't. and you either believe the earth is flat or not. There are no levels of lunacy. Now I suppose you could take the loony position on the one (the moon landings were faked) and the obvious position(the earth is not flat.... duhhh) on the other, but that would be analogous to a Creationist who believes the Talking Snake, Adam and Eve bible story as totally factual but thinks The Noah’s Ark tale is complete bullshit. fake moon landing and flat earth followers are here. up next, the fake landing on the flat moon EDIT and the flat landing on the fake moon.

If anyone is thinking about getting a ledger, don't. I just updated the firmware and it was a fucking nightmare.
Part of the way through the update process it got stuck. The ledger showed the word bootloader and clicking the buttons did nothing. The wallet software just said to plug it in. No options, nothing worked.
Turns out lots of people have this problem. Their support page says that for those of us running windows 7, we will have to finish the update on another machine. One not running win7.
I do not have a non-win7 machine and there is no way I am downgrading to win10. Nor do I want to spend money on a new machine even if that was an option.
So that's the situation. The update was mandatory so no way to avoid it, and it didn't complete. My coins were stuck.
I eventually found a developer version of the ledger manager software on github, ran it and the update went through and things worked normally again. But that was pure dumb luck, could easily have been locked out of my money for months.
Get a trezor instead. Updated the firmware on that too and it went through in seconds with no issues. Thinking about dropping the ledger and getting an extra trezor instead. Or maybe an entirely different brand would be in order.
I have 3 ledger and had no problems updating it. updating firmwares is critical on ANY device. even your holy trezor has firmware upgrading problems: https://www.reddit.com/r/TREZOR/comments/8bimim/trezor_one_stuck_on_firmware_update/

That whale manipulator who makes the charts jump up and down 100's of dollars in minutes is back. Last time they did this for a few days, the price jumped from 7000 to 8000 in a half hour, IIRC. Makes me think we are heading towards one of two things:
A: Price jumps up $1000, continuing the pattern of smaller spikes followed by a huge one. B: Price dumps below $7000, undoing the original mega-pump, but following the pattern of randomly jumping up and down.
these pump and dump spikes are really suspicious. how many bitcoin/dollars are required to make such moves?
