Is anyone following the block chain? There's a miner address that starts with t1a that always comes with blocks up to 30 minutes old. I'm wondering if is even possible to find a block under the current difficulty and submit it once the diff lowers. Like I find a block with a 800 diff but current diff is 900, so I save it and if the diff goes under 800 I submit it. Is that even possible?

anyone on RX480 8G ? what are the speeds ?

245 to 255 oc to 1385/2000 with temp at 78 and fan at 59%. Still many valleys on GPU usage showing space for improvement

Another news: due to a lot of requests I got, finally I reconsidered my plans about Linux version, I will release it in a couple of days.

Question. Why running your xmr CPU miner affects the performance of your zcash miner? Not enough physical memory? What do you think? The GPU miner uses only about 2% of cpu
Set the xmr process to low priority, and zcash to above normal.  ZCash doesn't need a lot of CPU, but if it has to fight for it, it will slow it down.

Tried that doesn't work. Ty anyway

Question:   Which port is best on Dwarfpool, was using port 3335, was getting nearly 700 shares but moved to 3336. now getting about 200 shares, think i getting payed less too...

Any thoughts.......

Higher diff but the total undiff shares should be the same. In the end it all depends on how many cards you have.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 14, 2016, 09:54:14 PM
yep 5 hours no block Sad this is realy bad luck for today. Never see this before

They are about 10 to 11 blocks under predicted by their 5% hash. It should be a funny catch up ahead. Some people play the mountains and valleys for an extra income edge. Now is too late for me to switch
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 14, 2016, 09:48:42 PM
zec down to $43 a coin now.  are we going to see many people leave and go back to XMR/ETH or do people think there is still enough profit in it to keep mining?

They'll squeeze miners out to control the hash and when they have enough the pump will start. Weak miners will just quit before and rush back in. Pump and dump 101
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 14, 2016, 06:59:31 PM
Dwarfpool is based on luck. You can have +10% , +20% or +30% and more but you can have too -10% , -20% . If you are lucky stay at dwarf if not - try suprnova i think is second place to mining.
I mining on dwarf its so OP - for my first 12 hours i make + 30% and now will never leave this pool its OP for me

All pools are based on luck. Same reason why sometimes you are hashing 10% above and others 10% bellow your nominal rig hashrate. Same reason why the network hashrate oscillates so much. Why is it so hard for people to understand this?

smod claymore does great job its not cool what u are doing

i agree. smod you should publish your work for free.

I would if Claymore made his "devfee" optional or atleast a one time payment like a normal software stack developer. I know he does a great job, I don't disagree.

Claymore has made 500 zcash since Oct 28th. This may include his personal farm as he accounts for 3.5% of flypool hashrate. yes he is the top miner there and easy to follow.

Hi,

Is it possible to have and r9 290 and a RX480 in the same computer?

regards,
eric

everything is possible:)

Yes I have a 7950 and a rx480. You have to install the 15.12 drivers first and upgrade to the 16s after
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 13, 2016, 09:57:59 PM
well f2pool is PPS so no luck factor there. you are payed for each share accepted.

i have had some pretty bad results with suprnova.. wish f2pool would offer SSL for those willing to suffer dev fees but concerned about MITM mitigation.

Not exactly true. The payout was very low a few days ago. That is because it did not hit many blocks.

not sure you are unfamiliar with what PPS means, or if this is a troll from a low activity shill account.

PPS means there are constant calculations against difficulty and share size so each submission is rewarded minus the pool fee. regardless of how many blocks the pool scores.

you are Paid Per Share.

all these people "counting shares" on dwarf and flypool should simply check difficulty charts for a given day and pull up a calculator for what they should be pulling in. their counted shares mean nothing if payout is sub optimal.

if you're not being rewarded at least .08 ZEC per 1000h/s these past few days, even after fees.. you're getting bent over pretty bad.

0.1 ZEC per 1000h/s is more like it after some modest dev and pool fees.

My 460 call for close to .06. and I'm getting them. Your .08 or even .1 for 1000 hashes is uncalled for as you are throwing sand into nobos eyes.
473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 13, 2016, 05:25:10 PM
In practice
Flypool represents + 40% of the strength of the network so on the block number possible they will necessarily find more regularly blocks (around 8 blocks per hour on the 24 block.) And remunere your sharing number on block find, Therefore mining the right block

And dwarfpool represents + 4% of the strength of the network so on the possible block number they will not necessarily find unblock per hour (around 0.8 block per hour on the 24 block.) And remunere on the global shares so no matter if You mined the right block or not

Dwarfpool is more risky because smaller so not on to find a block in the hour but if by chance it finds 1 + 1 more it is all benefit (has to see if you prefer stability or luck)

I prefer dwarfpool which because no matter what you have miner good or bad block you will pay on your level of sharing and not as on flypool on the chance to have done as much sharing as possible on the good block

To network equivalent dwarfpool is more linear

i have 1 rig (2 rx 470 4g + 2 rx 470 8g) et 1 rig (4 rx 480 8g)
on dwarfpool my ration is 0.24zec /day

Any pool regardless of size have a luck factor. The whole network has a luck factor and that's why you see the network hash going up and down, 2 second blocks and 20 minute blocks.

Meanwhile I haven't seen the diff and net hash this low since v8

With 2300 sol/s

on flypool for 24 h mining 0.2 zec
on dwarfpool for 24 h mining 0.298 zec

this is what I get in my wallet

What to write in * .bat file?

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

I write this, but gives me an error! Where am I wrong?

This happens sometimes, but usually all shares counted and it will be recalculated later.  At least no isses with recalc for this year on Dwarf (ETH).

I hope you're right. Sent email to support and no reply yet.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 13, 2016, 04:45:11 AM
Alert: doing an audit at dwarf shares to find they were not being counted. Set mport to zero and restarted the miner. Now the count is right on. Either my mport was hacked claymore has a overnight job or dwarf is ignoring shares. Any idea?

Funny to watch people turning their computers off and watch the network hashrate going down lol

i have a very old HD7790 cards
this piece of sheet Wink gives
Code:
ZEC: 12/13/16-02:29:46 - New job from zec-ru1.dwarfpool.com:3333
target: 0x001ffffc (diff: 2048H)
ZEC - Total Speed: 171.054 H/s, Total Shares: 10100, Rejected: 70, Time: 48:54
ZEC: GPU0 85.628 H/s, GPU1 85.425 H/s

works perfectly on miner v9.1, win7x64, for 2 days w/o any troubles....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_HD_7000_Series
1000mhz cpu, 1500 mhz memory and only 896 cpu units.
one card takes 40w and another one 60w. so i guess 200-250w per system with 2 this cards.
and you can compare power to rx480 with 1266 mhz cpu, 2250mhz memory and 2304 cpu units.

in all benchmarks (WPA (56/200mh/s), FAH (50/250 PPD) etc) each rx480 gives about 3.5-5pcs of hd7790.
if ETH i can't get the hashrate because my cards is 1 gb, but on the net there are digits like 5-6mh/sec, so its 31/6=5.1 times...
and only in ZEC each rx480 gives 200/85=2.3 pcs of hd7790.
so, this digit looks very sad, like theoretical 2304/896=2.57 pcs....
i don't know why hd7790 works so good to compare to rx480, may be a very good core code for hd7790, or may be a very bad code for rx480, or may be i'm totally wrong in all Smiley

Have to try my 6970. 7770 is doing 70 with v9

V9.1 with my HD7990's i get 201H/S per chip (400-405 in total, MSI brand), really good increase!

That's it? I have a MSI 7950 heavy overclocked doing stable 220-225
480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v9.1 on: December 13, 2016, 01:02:18 AM
I got this on dwarfpool much today Sad ZEC:: No new jobs were received for 10 mins - something wrong with the pool, disconnect. What's wrong to many users or what? Think i gonna change again Sad

I noticed the same but it didnt affect me. I'm still getting 20% more in dwar than flypool. I will switch if the profit drops.

You get a new job when a block has been found. Yesterday it took 19 minutes between 2 blocks. The solution is for claymore to remove this check
