2 of our Investment Company will attend your conference too  Smiley

Should be a nice trip, event & meeting with interesting people. Just had contact with another guy what will be there too so hope a lot of European guest will be the honor for the work.
Just found a nice 5 star hotel in Amsterdam Center here: http://www.hotels-comparison.net/ - booked the cheapest offer at their hotel comparison.

Good luck, happy mining & we will see us!

Looking forward to seeing you there! Let me know if you have questions about where to eat or what to see!

Thanks - I am an Amsterdam fan... visiting the city 2-3 times a year (business plus private) & I am thinking to invest there too. But any recommendations for some new good restaurants and places are welcome!

263  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: August 05, 2013, 05:53:47 AM
If this is even possible with the current setup, Rig Hash Rate falls below XXMh/s restart service.  I have trouble with one or three FPGA board getting sick in BFGMiner and it need a soft kick to get mining again.

Next version (very soon now, Thomas and I are just fighting over how to store settings Tongue ) three things will be watched by a monitor process.

1. The amount of devices running.

2. The hashrate.

3. Your pools.

When MinePeon detects something wrong with any of the above it will send you an email telling you about the problem, furthermore if you tick a "Attempt automatic recovery" it will;-

1. Send the miner API a restart to try and fix it

2. Failing a miner restart MinePeon will kill -9 the miner and reload it

3. Failing that MinePeon will reboot itself to attempt a fix

All of those actions will be 5 minutes apart, one after another.  If it cannot fix the problem like if there is a dead miner it will just try to do the best it can mining with the remaining devices.

If it actually does manage to recover it sends you an email saying so.

Neil

Neil thats awesome - I too have problems in this version with my FPGA hardware. It seems that it will loose connection to some FPGA & finally from time to time was stop working (just Web-Interface & mostly the miner runs). Only fix is a reboot of the whole rig and after max. 48h it`s down again...  Huh

I had this never in newer older releases & finally I had really bad downtime last 2 weeks. Think that I will split them to more Raspberry Pi hosts to find maybe the problem as now it`s not analysable for me. Loosing connections & crashing webserver with no idea why this is happen.

Hi Lucko
So for psu, something like a "OCZ 1000W ZX Series fully modular" with 6 PCIe sockets, would power, 6 boards with 8 chips, or 3 boards with 16 chips.
Would there be enough power remaining to drive a cheap motherboard as a host?  or is it better host from another pc.
I also have an android stick pc with BFL software running (I still need a miner to test this) but it looks very low power around 3 watts.
Keith

One of the best hosts is in my opinion a Raspberry Pi with Minepeon - have a look at it. Cheap and good  Wink
265  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Avalon mining rig clones thread from bitmine.ch (FINAL BATCH AVAILABLE) on: August 04, 2013, 11:48:21 AM
Any info on if Avalon clones can be overclocked without too much trouble? Is it just a firmware update via USB?

As I know from them overclocking worked awesome and it will be shipped with the overclocking firmware. I think the whole thing is flashable via Web-Interface as the Avalon Miners have a built in Linux (think it`s a fork of Linux router firmware).

Our new service should too be ready for beta testers next 2 weeks.

Hallo

Simon

Hast eine PM - sorry Deinen Post komplett übersehen.
270  Local / Biete / Re: BTC Vinyl Stickers (DE) on: August 02, 2013, 05:10:26 PM

Yes but the problem that chips are showing in Chicago now since 24.7. We need to wait for this to clear

I asked around and all EU buyers have this problem... So I really need to find what is wrong... Or find someone to send one chip from outside EU...

Still waiting for BFL answer... And asked USPS still no answer... Hope to get one soon...

My one was shipped from Leawood via Kansas City & too since 24 of July in Chicago. I think their tracking system is stopping in Chicago, maybe when leaving for oversea.
272  Local / Biete / Re: [Gruppenkauf] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 bestellt (geschlossen) on: July 31, 2013, 07:29:12 AM

Look what came out of my team... Now I know why it took so long for changes to BFL board...

Now this picture is not completely finished board... And some components are just put on... But this is a surprise I just got on mail...

I know but power supply is just a test version... Real will have PCI-e... So don't worry...

Now we will do 2 tests Smiley I do hope that this board will work since it will cost less...

Awesome work :-)
274  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ASIC mining board project on: July 30, 2013, 08:58:13 PM
Awesome - will watch it too as we have 128 chips ordered.  Smiley
275  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Yifu/Bitsyncom please dont hold back the chip shipment because of b3 miners... on: July 30, 2013, 04:33:30 PM
As I know the capacity of TSMC is very limited. Maybe the delay of chips are caused by TSMC or assembly factory.

Hahahaha - you know nothing, thats sure! VERY limited :-)

Hi,

is there already a price for the complete miner - 128 chips?
Reserve me one for my chips  Wink
277  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon on: July 23, 2013, 06:47:16 AM
Ok so i've got my PI and set it up no problems,, she's not mining yet cus I bought a usb3 hub and it doesn`t work with PI lol.

I was looking at adding a screen

I'm waiting for my Pi, but I was looking at getting this screen for around $30 :

http://coldtearselectronics.wikispaces.com/USB+LCD+-+LCD+System+info

Then writing a python script that pulls the hash rate, accepts, rejects, etc from the cgminer api, then write it to the screen, kind of like this setup :

http://www.gregledet.net/?p=668
... ah ... every time I've seen someone say they want to add a direct hardware device for the screen I've thought USB ... there's got to be a simple USB solution.

OK, this I have to get Smiley

... OK ebay ... paid and awaiting delivery!

I did write the whole cgminer API so ...
Expect either a script or a cgminer change soon after it arrives on my doorstep Cheesy

Edit: actually ... since it will work on ANY computer ... and I also did write the usbutils library in cgminer ... hmmmm ... I think this would be nice to have it hot-pluggable ... as a cgminer display Cheesy

Edit2: I wonder if there is a common interface how these things work (i.e. others that may exist)

Kano,

Did you get your LCD display yet? I just got mine yesterday, and already hacked up a quick script to display data from the cgminer API.

I was wondering if you completed your script yet, or have added support in cgminer? I'm sure it has more functionality than my simple attempt. lol

BTW, I got the LCD with the v1.3 firmware.  Unfortunately that version does not seem to allow absolute positioning on the display. I guess the v1.4 firmware model is the one to get, if it can be found.

As far as there being a standard interface for these type devices, I haven't seen one. It would be nice...

Got too my ones - had no time to test with it till now. If anybody has a solution it would be awesome :-)

giorgiomassa, You have fully populated modules with Avalon chip or waiting for delivery to finish hashing board ?

We have a fully populated module with 80 avalon ASICs and are working right now on thermal optimisations, a video of the working unit will be posted soon!

As I understand that you have a test module with a full set of chips. What is the delivery time in this case, if I order today?

This unit isn`t for sale - it is their first built "prototype". Cool thing is that the chips from this 3rd batch are ordered and you should get your own one the last week of September. Look at the order page - their own statement: "Shipping will be on the last week of September. All sales are final!"
