So looks like there are 4 new denominations and variations for BTCC chips! Looking forward to see them on sale. I guess they will be numbered as the others.
Now I wonder, how about low numbers? Will they be put up for auction or will they be available on the site first come, first served?
We will not auction the low numbers. They will all be sold through the store, and some will be reserved for employees and special VIPs. Is there a launch date yet for these ? edit : interested
Cannot tell you the launch date. But check back in a few hours. (Like I said, if we have 10 people interested, we can open up the store a few hours before the General Announcement to the public. Interested? Do we have 10+ yet?) Any word if there will be an Etui to display these coins (hopefully in the shape of the BTCC logo)?
"Yes and no." There will be a few nice surprises! "It's more than what you see." thanks, Bobby Interested here Viz

Impressed by the prices these are making....
Imagine what a set of 0.001, 0.0025, 0.01 and 0.025 would make!
Possible denominations to come? 0.005, 0.05?

They don't ship to the US because they've asked FinCEN, the US regulator, and they said BTCC need to register as a money services business before they can buy or sell bitcoin-related collectables or offer exchange services in the US. They've applied for the license and they expect to get it in a few months. Meanwhile, those of us this side of the water can help our Murican friends (as and when we get our hands on the goods!!) Viz

FYI Bitcoin magazine ended print copies at Issue 22 although the "magazine" is still available in an online format. To buy an entire sealed collection from the magazine publishers will now set you back $999 (or 1.421BTC) on their store and numbers are very limited due to the fact that 6 issues are now sold out. I would hazard a guess they have some sets left (they obviously wont split) but as for individual issues there are now 6 (Issue no's 2, 10, 16, 17, 20, 22) out of print and marked as Sold Out on the website. So this is a rare chance to get a set at a very good price. https://store.btcmedia.org/collections/magazines?page=1Viz

I do not think that was all that expensive considering how rare these are. BTCC has stated you can not ever buy these so getting them is tough. On this one I disagree. I believe that in time there will be more chips. There's LOTS of very good reasons why too, including a perfectly great & cheap vehicle to distribute small amounts of BTC at Conferences and Conventions, exactly what mine are targeted towards. Possible design change for a series 2 perhaps? Viz

1 @ 0.014
Unfortunately your bid is invalid mj. Fortify already bid on the first coin 0.014. Hey just to make sure is my bid valid , i just saw increment is 0.001 Yes your bid is in vailid too. I don't like to change the rules during the auction so i hope you understand. Highest bids so far: greenplastic 1 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 2 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 3 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 4 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 5 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 6 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 7 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 8 @ 0.01281 greenplastic 9 @ 0.01281 lottery248 10 @ 0.017 Your list is incorrect as you haven't included the 0.014 bid from Fortify and why doesn't chronicskys bids count? I'm guessing admin error

It appears the more unscrupulous collectors/traders are using scripts (allegedly) to ninja the purchase.
So, that's put me right off future "specials" from BTCC... as in .. whats the point?
In my view, the more recent past has shown BTCC struggle to issue coins on a fair basis. The releases are in disarray and collectors feel like they are being gouged on some items. All in all, it's not been a pleasant experience. A shame as it started so well.
Anyhoo, there's plenty of other coins out there that are in fact rarer, and in some cases, more desirable, my ire will pass and cool stuff will appear, the world turns and we all move on.
