Hows DRK coming along since page 1822?  You all take these chats way too seriously.  Calmate, people.

Anyway...DogeCoin is my favorite coin so I knew that I would like DarkCoin because it looks similar.

TO THE MOON!!

So many genius noobs.  That's when you know the Shibes have finally moved on from DRK to Monero.  Hype machine part 3!  ByteCoin + duckNote > Monero IMO (pussies)  Kiss

Cheers!  I used the beta and it seems to be working ok...converted the blockchain over Smiley

No more FUD--Let's get the facts straight in large red lettering too

First you all need to read: http://bytecoiner.org/about.php
This is a BCN community website that has all of the information you need to know in one place.  This info used to be scattered everywhere, but now it is nicely consolidated on this website--this is not fabricated.

BCN was not premined.  It was released on July 4, 2012.  Opponents argue that the release wasn't "public enough", and thus conclude the coin was "premined".  Better call Bitcoin premined too, then!  The developers of BCN actually worked with CryptoNote on the CryptoNight algorithm and BCN formed from there.  Read the information from that link and see for yourself.

Monero is basically the taco shop version of BCN, IMO.  The logo and name give the impression of a dollar store and the developers don't seem as passionate as the original creators of the tech (and rightfully so).  The Monero devs are very quick to protect what is in their best financial interests, and that is obvious from their snarky comments scattered on reddit and this forum.  Users really need to make their own decision, and the market will reflect that.  Bytecoin has a much more favorable risk to reward ratio at the moment, and it is the original and most secure anonymous coin out there at the moment.  All the Shibes who blindly moved to DarkCoin will eventually stampede over themselves to the CryptoNote camp in the last two quarters of 2014.  If you are using an anonymous coin for its actual anonymous properties (and not just following hype or trying to make money) there is not a huge incentive for you to care that a lot of the coin has been mined already.  After all, bitcoin is over 60% mined!  If anything I would much rather support a coin like duckNote over Monero, because the name is hilarious rather than boring.  Marketability is not all about the specific name, but has to do with the atmosphere surrounding the coin and the coin's feel/emotional response.  Monero is no bueno.

BCN FTW

Hope that helps, GL.

I can't believe "SummerCoinV2" is anywhere near the top of the Poloniex coins to be voted onto the exchange.  Terrible name and concept!

Duckies line up and vote we are almost there: https://poloniex.com/voting
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XDN] duckNote [ANN]. CryptoNote based. Anonymous and CPU only. on: June 20, 2014, 02:28:53 AM
I'll buy your ducks at that price!  How about 50mill XDN for .15BTC?  Grin Grin
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 20, 2014, 01:29:13 AM
The community website looks great!  The about section is nicely detailed and thorough.  Looking forward to testing the new beta client...

Y'all are terrible with coming up with coin names.  Coin is destined for failure simply based on its name, much like Monero.  Then there is DarkCoin that has the opposite problem--excellent name but bad tech (plus its insane speculative price ATM).  It's not all about marketing, but part of it is.  Never the less, I will probably still mine this a little because CryptoNote tech is superior to anything else ATM but I would rather go after ByteCoin and duckNote.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 17, 2014, 03:07:58 PM
You are precisely the type of slick Monero Shill I was talking about...
At least 1/3 of your last 50 posts are Monero propaganda mixed with shots at ByteCoin...
And there are at least a dozen or more Monero shillls just like you...
And now, OF COURSE, you launch a truly ridiculous attack on little me.

That a new, occasional poster like me...
Could in any way be running a "scam" would be, in fact, delusional...
But since you are not delusional... you are a greedy, fucking liar.

I don't have a dog the CN hunt because I'm a diversified, high-volume trader...
And since I owned XMR, BBR, BCN, and some ducks in that order this morning...
I've had a very nice day selling and scalping into this rally (about 150 trades)...
And will continue to profit from CN technology regardless of who dominates this space.

Don't worry, he does the exact same thing to me here and on reddit.  Way too much time on his hands.  BCN and ducknote for the win.  Monero is just a taco shop and he is fearful.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XDN] duckNote [ANN]. CryptoNote based. Anonymous and CPU only. on: June 17, 2014, 03:03:15 PM
We were 3rd yesterday, 2nd today!  Let's get XDN to the top so we can trade on Poloniex!  Only less than 40 votes needed!

GL duckies!
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 10, 2014, 04:11:30 PM
While I understand that the name ByteCoin could be confusing for a cryptonoob, I think that most coin names are confusing for a cryptonoob.  I like "ByteCoin" because it feels like a beefed up bitcoin--implying extra features.  IMO it's perfect for its use.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [duck] duckNote [ANN]. CryptoNote based. Anonymous and CPU only. on: June 10, 2014, 03:14:07 PM
Can't transfer anything from my wallet. Opening the wallet gives me this:

Code:
Starting refresh...
Refresh done, blocks received: 0
balance: 27878365.39291181, unlocked balance: 27878365.39291181

@devs: This looks like a problem with your datatypes.
Please tell me you thought about this issue before increasing the block reward like crazy.

I don't see what the problem is, but correct me if I'm wrong.  Your quote is just showing that you have coins in the wallet. Unless you are implying you can't refresh?  Ps that's a lot of coins wtf!

Also to the one who posted earlier:  just because the dev doesn't post for the weekend doesn't mean he disappeared lol...
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 10, 2014, 05:01:49 AM
I, too, think that Monero is just a sad copy of ByteCoin (very poor name and branding, marketing fail during launch too IMO--I don't need to get into that discussion :p).  I also agree that in the end the amount of initial users of this coin doesn't really matter, especially since the coin is so cheap right now (hovering around 5 satoshis).  Such a small percentage of the world even owns the most popular crypto, bitcoin!  It would be so easy for a new bitcoin adopter to say the same thing about bitcoin, being 61% mined without their knowledge.  Fairness is subjective...

ducknote is a funny coin, I actually like it.  I know I just said Monero had a poor name, and some would say the same about ducknote...but I beg to differ.  I think the coin idea is funny in a sort of sarcastic way and the duck is neutral.  Fun experiment none-the-less...definitely open for some meme-age.  Plus, who said ducks aren't marketable?   "AAAFLLLAAAAC!!!"

I enjoy the mystery and seemingly true to its nature history of ByteCoin.  It's the real deal, and does not need hype *cough*DarkCoin.  I think a lot of Shibes have bought into DarkCoin, or so it seems by the nature of its community to some level.  I also am really interested in ducknote and I think that Monero, FantomCoin, QuazarCoin, and DarkCoin will not succeed in the long run.

Just my 2 QUACKS!  Wink

And what are you talking about, "tone down" my facts?  LOL

You really don't know?

You are asking me to stretch the truth.  I'm not one of you.  This coin is essentially the DogeCoin of anonymous coins.  It will be preyed upon until it dies.

ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN!
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: June 09, 2014, 05:39:31 PM

Ah yes, things are so obvious AFTER the fact.

Actually it was obvious to me at .026.  Not everybody sucks at reading charts and feeling market sentiments.  Of course all the DarkCoin fanboys downvoted it to hell, but it was still true and happened.  There is no winning here.  Y'all are blind.

And what are you talking about, "tone down" my facts?  LOL
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: June 09, 2014, 05:33:15 PM
Dear Trolls you really don't get it. When you are not here price drops, when you are here we are on the rise and keep rising. We welcome you. Please spread more FUD. Try at least:

- instamine (very popular for beginning Trolls)
- the fork two weeks ago (for medium expert Trolls)
- dark coin isn't anonymous at all (for experienced Trolls)

Good luck may the best Troll win. The winner gets to hold an enormous amount of some shit pump and dump coin, you know those best. It is where you normally live when Dark Coin is not rising.

Again best of luck let the FUD begin we will rate you for most creative Troll!

<3 <3 <3

Actually this IS a shit coin! (as of now)  If you can't see that you are blinded by your own hubris.  DarkCoin is such a joke--so many fanboys that don't even understand the tech and only are attracted by the name.  All hype!  It was 50% "premined" in the first 48 hours due to a botched "mining difficulty adjustment".  Half the current coins were mined in 48 hours.  The fork was just a bump in the road.  DarkCoin may or may not be anonymous, as you can't see the code since it is closed source.  YES...the MAIN FEATURE, DARKSEND, that is responsible for the anonymous nature is CLOSED SOURCE.  Might as well be named HoneyPotCoin.  It could literally be doing anything...do you trust people or an algorithm?  Clearly DarkCoin fanboys trust people over algo.  Should've sold at the top of this OBVIOUS bubble.  Those who think DarkCoin will gain "mainstream" popularity fail to understand the target audience of anonymous coins.  At least if you buy DarkCoin, wait another month.  If I buy in again I'm getting more than double the coins I had, obvious bubble my friends.  I feel like all the blind shibes moved to DarkCoin and that is why there are so many noobs here.

I sent in a request to Poloniex as well just now.

Good luck, ducklings!

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (CPU-mining, true anonymity) on: June 09, 2014, 05:15:44 PM
In my opinion, ByteCoin is not premined.  Others who are butthurt tend to disagree, but the fact of the matter is that it is debatable because the coin wasn't "premined" in the strict sense of the word.  FUDsters throw that around way too much.  If anything DarkCoin was 50% premined because half of the current coins were instamined within 48 hours of launch!  Look at all the DarkCoin fanboys, blind to reality.  ByteCoin was relatively unknown to the public, so they scream premined!!1 when in actuality it was mined by thousands of people for a few years.  BCN is the real deal...Monero is a poorly marketed and branded copy cat and DarkCoin has it's many flaws which I don't need to get into.  BCN and ducknote FTW.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL][BTC][LTC][BCN][MRO][QCN][FCN][duck] Minergate on: June 07, 2014, 06:49:47 PM
I've had withdrawal problems for a little while now but they usually work themselves out within a few minutes, to an hour, to a day...it's been over a day this time and still no sign of the coins moving to my wallet.
I have been waiting since may 30th.

Would your withdrawals be put in and they just fail (they exist on the withdrawals history)? or does it just hang after you press withdrawal like nothing happened?  I've made withdrawals multiple times since the 30th.
