It's fine to download the block chain from an unknown source because if it were any different from the official block chain, it wouldn't sync with the network.  I'm not sure if they are updating the site soon or why the official link doesn't work.  Let's see if Dstrange can fix that for us.

Go back to 2015!  Have you even looked at the volume or paid attention to the crypto scene since then?  There will be somewhat of a crypto market correction at some point for all currencies, no doubt, but I believe the market as a whole is way more robust in price retention than before.  We are not in that peak territory yet either.

I mean, look at ETH!  If it weren't for BTC paving the way with its "crashes" and panic dumps, etc. ETH wouldn't be at the price it is today.  Back when BTC had its first major rallies there was a lot of fear because "it could just go to zero overnight".  The likeliness of that happening now is extremely low. In turn, confidence in all crypto has increased immensely all around the world.  I don't want to misguide anybody with price because I am not an oracle, but my opinion is that the price from here will depend on the announcement and what happens next.  Sure it could go down in the short term (or UP)--it depends on what happens next.  If you are in XDN for fast money, I am not here to guide you.  BCN just added 'untraceable tokens' and I wonder if XDN has a trick up their sleeve in relation to that feature.  The mobile service announcement should be interesting too.  We will know soon enough, as the road map should be out soon.  Play it smart, don't invest more than you can afford to lose, have fun, and support the community you believe in!

I think it actually just goes to show how much "market cap" is a joke as a concept for all cryptocurrencies in general.  If everyone were to sell their BTC it wouldn't equal the market cap.  It's just an epeen contest if you're going to have them on a list and analyze them every day.  Especially when the market is radically changing by the hour...  I know a lot of Monero folks hate this coin, heh, and that makes it all that much more appealing to others.  The coin is an underdog and badass even at first glance.  There are many difference perceptions of this coin and its tech.  People are willing to invest thousands into BTC which has billions of dollars owned by an anonymous person yet they come here and complain about speculated origins of the coin.  Satoshi could literally crash BTC any day...are you afraid?

I don't think we should necessarily think about comparing the price to XMR because XMR has only 18.3 million coins + .3 every minute after that compared to XDN 8.5 billion.  However, if we did compare their market caps...Monero's market cap is now $489,820,367, DigitalNotes is currently $11,951,830.  So XDN would grow 40x to compete with Monero's market cap. 40x our current price is .000028 btc (about 5 cents).  I think that depending on what announcements come etc, XDN should have no problem being at least over $1 at some point, easy, maybe in the next couple years...but 1 cent-5 cent would be a nice goal to catch up to XMR and is most definitely realistic.
  
I also think that coin market cap may not necessarily be the most useful thing for most of crypto except for epeen contests as it implies everybody selling their coins for the current price, which is not ever a thing in cryptos.  Also we have to remember that all the market caps are growing incredibly fast right now, so all the relationships between the coins will rapidly change while we have this next crypto breakthrough.

PS for newcomers don't forget that you can put deposits on the block chain to secure the network and earn XDN (PoS).  For example you can gain ~333 XDN in about a month with a 1mil deposit on the block chain...it's great for savers who don't plan on selling soon or wish to earn a savings on a portion of their stash.  You don't have to put 1mil up, you can put up as much as you want and for even longer periods.  Just don't forget it locks your coins until they're ready

Nice to have predicted this yesterday :p...don't be so obsessed with devs, look at the qualities of the "product".  Wait and understand or freak and sell your coins    months and years do work alongside dev (in all coins).  Don't underestimate the power of the market right now.  It is a beast all around the globe.  I have emailed dNote and he has responded every time...although still awaiting the mobile service announcement

Absolutely...I think many crypto-nerds have poor foresight because they are too entangled into "the scene" (including myself sometimes).  Less obsessed people care more about coin properties and the value it can provide in their daily life.  I once invested in TESLA @ $45 and sold @ $90.  When it doubled again I was kicking myself.  TESLA is worth over $300 now (don't worry I bought back in again XD), but the point is remember that you may be early to the party and not realize others are so much slower than you.  This is just the beginning IMO, and for many other coins too...the market is insanely huge and expanding...

My recommendation for people having problems with syncing is to delete your entire block chain and related block chain files and try resync from scratch...I don't know for sure though, I only know what I experienced.

I can see that the current block height is actually 385529, so hmmm...I actually have v1.0.11 still, I will try to update and report with any help I can offer. 
 
EDIT: I have updated to v1.0.12 and no issues here.  Hmm.  Maybe try giving your computer a restart, but you may have to try downloading the full block chain from scratch.  It should work as long as your firewall isn't blocking the program etc
