21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DigitalNote |XDN| - ICCO Announce - NEWS on: June 03, 2017, 10:01:33 PM
my xdn are stock on poloniex for months now, the wallet has been disabled for months, they don't even reply to support tickets.

Yeah...there was a period of time where apparently Poloniex helped users get their XDN out of their exchange but I also have a couple thousand coins in there I would like to get out.  They haven't responded to me either (about a month now).  Hopefully you don't have too much on there!  The price has more than doubled in the last day alone!  Really nice volume too.

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DigitalNote |XDN| - ICCO Announce - NEWS on: June 03, 2017, 05:03:20 AM
My guess is that big whales don't bother to buy on each two exchange platforms as many XDN as they can, for a question of time. Better to have them all in a place.

Even at 156 satoshis XDN is still very cheap for a big whales. It's not as expensive as BTC.

I think that there are a couple benefits beyond pricing, too:
1) Redistribution of XDN to a broader audience. Basically it will allow others to have a larger stake in the currency without having been an early adopter etc.
2) Large investors can buy a bigger parcel of XDN at a time without heavily effecting the market price on the exchanges.

I think that the reason why people would buy the coins at 2-3x their current market price is because that could soon be the market price. When the XDN ICCO begins the selling phase, the price of XDN will probably catch up to the ICCO parcel price (per XDN) naturally.

I personally don't think the ICCO is a necessity, but I do think it is a great option. Meaning that I think it only opens more doors but is not a requirement for the coin's success. Holders can also choose to participate or not, but it is not a requirement. The tech is very strong, the community is growing, and the devs are on point. I think that the coin is extremely undervalued and that the ICCO price is still a great deal, especially when you consider it as a competitor to Monero (which it is--they were both forked from Bytecoin). It's interesting to look at the market caps and total coin supplies of Monero and Bytecoin vs DigitalNote. If you understand the crypto market and how those coins are perceived, you will understand why the potential with DigitalNote is huge.

Can you decrypt this ?

I copied and pasted multiple lines and combined them in one paragraph.  If you visited the Ryver there is more to read.  There were questions asked, etc but I just copy pasted dNote's answers.

Dnote made announcment on ICCO here?! Long time he is offline.

ICCO Terms and answers to some questions by dNote on Ryver today (https://digitalnote.ryver.com):
"1. HitBTC will open new market called XDN-ICCO
2. Any user will be able to fund his XDN-ICCO hitbtc address with DigitalNote. This is called Initial Crowdfunding stage. One week is a duration of IC stage.
XDN-ICCO wallet will be open only for deposit for one week.
After one week deposits to XDN-ICCO wallet will be closed.
After that users shares will be calculated.
Imagine 1000 users will fund XDN-ICCO wallet with 1000 XDN in total, like every person will send 1 XDN. Single user share = 1/1000 in that case.
After one week the second stage will be started.
The new XDN-ICCO sale market will be open at HitBTC with a fixed 320000XDN lots and fixed prices, 0.5->0.6->0.7BTC.
CO stage will have a max. duration of 4 weeks. If all XDN-ICCO funds will be sold earlier, ICCO will be closed.
After that the amount of sold XDN will be calculated and participants will get BTC according to their share.
In case there will be unsold XDN participants will have XDN refund as well as BTC reward, according to their share.
1. There will be several wallets to ensure funds security. 2. There will be cold wallets to ensure funds security 3. Cold wallets will be controlled by XDN team. Since HitBTC don't need to have XDN on hot wallets because there will be no withdrawals from XDN-ICCO wallets before ICCO ends. Also I want to admit - HitBTC is an exchange with high reputation and big trading volumes.
You can treat ICCO as a "Great coins redistribution" for easy understanding."

I made my gains on the way up, no problem here.  Wasn't sure what to think about the ICCO at first, but now I am all for it.  The small market cap alone will be a huge motivator for investors (look at Bytecoin, market cap of 406 million--if XDN hit that market cap each XDN would be worth almost 6 cents!).  If you didn't believe BCN would see that market cap, I could see why you would be pessimistic about XDN.  I could also see why you would be mad if you sold at half or even a quarter of the current price back in 2016.  The fact of the matter is that even at 2-3x current satoshi prices, XDN is still a good deal.  I think that after the ICCO, that is when the price will sway down and sort of even out for awhile before next progress.  It's not going to be this low again.  The future is a multicrypto future IMO.

Sounds neutral to me, we will have to wait and see what happens next.

The Twitter account is not fake (you can search for dNote's posts here and see that he references it and that it is official).  Most of the devs are based out of Asia (you can verify that through an old DuckNote interview in 2014 you can Google) and I think mainly China (based off of speech patterns and one comment dNote made in the past here).  I think that this adds to why the communication is the way it is, besides being busy, and I also think that this is another reason why the project holds so much promise.  I think Asia will take the cryptos to a whole new moon with projects that many Westerners have overlooked due to societal differences, regional perceptions of the market, the worth of BTC/CNY vs BTC/USD (BTC is essentially worth more to them).  It makes sense to me that companies in Asia are more apt to invest in XDN with real world projects, and it makes sense culturally why they are about the tech and development rather than updates every day on a bitcointalk forum. Anyone who visits this forum often knows it is troll infested and while a good starting hub, basically cancer.  Still speculation on my side though.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: May 26, 2017, 12:20:25 AM
What is the max that can be sent from a Bytecoin wallet?

I don't think that there is a maximum limit to the amount as long as you have it.

tried to send 50,000 it hang for about three Minuets then say too large

Which version are you using? I had a transaction with a larger amount before and it was sent properly.

wallet 1.1.3

I think it may have said that your "mix-in" was too large?  Try lowering your anonymity level with the slider under the fee area.

Nice imagination.  inb4 its anonymous we're not a community

EDIT: Poor imagination (see below).
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: May 25, 2017, 08:30:37 AM
XMR community now has to trust that Riccardo didn't scam anybody off the top Wink or I assume the devs think that is fair game?  Pumping their own anonymous crypto and making unknown amounts of cash.  Play games and hold pump n' dump classes?
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: May 25, 2017, 07:24:25 AM
I've had my coins for a long time, and gave it a few hours of thought tonight...I'm out.  It would take a full rebranding, deletion of fluffy, coin name change and a lot of time for me to even consider supporting or using XMR.  Maybe I'll be back then, but we were already behind the times with the GUI wallet, branding, site, etc.  Bytecoin is better than this now in my mind, and in retrospect the distribution of Monero was bullshit.  If you think about it, it was announced on this site and yea at the time that seems like a large announcement...in the reality of things and the world it is not.  You can't say that then turn around and say Bytecoin has poor distribution when its been 10 satoshi and steadily minable for literally years.  Time has changed the circumstances in many ways.  Many others would prefer DASH to Monero, I'm sure.  I know I'm very keen on ZEC and upcoming ETH(ZEC) as the more professional anonymous solution.

So what ever happened to Fluffypony's VertPay?  Was anybody around when that happened?  It was another one of Fluffypony's "experiments" but was heavily regarded as a scam IPO back in 2014.  I know the site doesn't exist, so what ever happened?  Did he run with IPO money?  I did a quick search and found this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404364.msg6674042#msg6674042

Yes he is actually defending himself by implying others are idiots for saying that Moolah is a scam.  I find the post very ironic after considering what happened with Moolah scamming everyone, the non-existence of VertPay and witnessing his little PR stunt today.

EDIT: Okay apparently he never ended up starting the IPO and VertPay has become Payb.ee
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: May 25, 2017, 04:31:11 AM
Hey rickgejr, that sounds productive!  I know perceptions of this coin vary wildly...that being said these are my honest opinions.

A little bit of background...There are a lot of haters (seemingly spawned from Monero dev) so usually I just keep calm and do what I believe.  Almost all of my major gains were investments that I understood personally but that many others scoffed at, so I've learned to listen to myself.  I've lost money when I listen to others.  I often get called shill and all kinds of paranoid things on many sites that I post on because I am always lurking and don't necessarily post often (not necessarily even crypto related).  I feel very outspoken not only here, but in politics and society in general.  I don't like to get involved with online epeen arguments and I assume many other Bytecoiners have similar mentalities.  It has been made apparent through email contact with dev team and their update patterns that they are not here to pump a coin or their egos.  It's an anonymous project after all.  I also don't want to dilly dally, I just want to get shit done, so that lines up well with my world view.  I know I am not the only one who feels this way.

I think that those who have issues with Bytecoin but yet flock to Bitcoin are some what hypocritical.  Bitcoin has billions of dollars worth in coins held by its anonymous founder Satoshi Nakamoto, yet they trust him not to dump.  It's also apparent that the market does not care about "premining" to a certain extent, look at DASH's success and all the numerous projects/tokens that retain a percentage of coins (and let's be clear the premine accusations vs Bytecoin are all unverified claims).  It would not be in a developer's best interest to crash a coin that they put hours and years of work into by dumping either.  Cryptonote.org researchers/original creators also vouch for the validity of the conception of Bytecoin in July 2012 which I think has some meaning in itself.  There is also an interesting thread on the Bytecoin subreddit right now that talks a little bit about the origins of Cryptonote.

Bytecoin has been so incredibly cheap for the past few years that distribution has been broadened again and again.  BCN being available this long at that low of a price and difficulty would have certainly allowed everyone and their mother to mine or buy some.  Monero was a copy of the original Bytecoin, mainly with just a different distribution dependent on its announcement on this forum (years?) after Bytecoin's conception.  Obviously the coins have taken very different paths since then...

The devs are always around and I have personally sent numerous emails back and forth over the years.  Just because they aren't here chatting away doesn't mean "coins ded".  Most people choose to follow what others say instead of doing their own research.  Indeed Bytecoin are consistently updating their tech and wallet, even without a huge vocal fan base.  I think that says something.

Bytecoin's wallet GUI is very pretty and professional, always has been.  I really enjoy that about the client.  They've always had talented graphic designers for logos and the website too.  Some newer folks had syncing issues with the wallet but there was a recent update and I think there was just some confusion because my wallet always works fine.  Never any concerns of losing coins or anything weird like that, always reliable and responsive.

I agree that anonymous devs are definitely more secure for an anonymous coin.  I honestly didn't expect Fluffy to make such an obviously dumb move, but it is the exact reason why I don't trust the XMR "experiment" (his words).  An anonymous crypto should not have a real life clown as it's mascot.  I would prefer no mascot at all.  It's also not smart for a dev to prop his real life persona in front of an anonymous coin for his own bodily safety (especially after today).  In Fluffy's case I don't think he understands the seriousness of the matter at hand.  I actually own some XMR as back up but I've never believed in it.  I don't want to bash them so I will not list all of my reasons and stop with the XMR talk.

PS I don't know what is up with Poloniex honestly.  I thought they were just overloaded or that maybe they were updating, but I can't get a solid response out of them.

fluffypony's BS today with the Monero pump and dump scheme has increased XDN's value at the most basic level.  Fuck you fluffy.  Hello XDN.
