I have set up a DNS seed for Hyperstake, I can do the same for Tech when I have a chance.

I'll set up tech.chainworks.info as the dns seed and take a look at where it needs to go in the code.

Just wondering why the icon stake weight and what's listed in the columns in coin control are seemingly not correlated?  I actually think the icon calculation is correct because even though no stake shows up in the weight column I did get stake and the icon reports that I'm staking, correctly.  Shouldn't I be able to add up all weight in the column to the same total as what it shows in the icon popup for my weight?

I finally got Abe working 98% with Techcoin so we now have a mostly working BLOCK EXPLORER here for now:  http://techblocks.chainworks.info:8324/

I need to find some hosting for it, has to be some kind of VPS, not just a webhost since you gotta compile & run the wallet.

As far as changing the wallet to fix things, I think if the PoW is restarted until block 6000 (when PoS was originally supposed to start) with 0 reward (+ transaction fees) and we cut back on the block count for maturity and stake some more, by block 6000 the PoS should have had some time to get going and PoW can really end.

I've only got a couple hours a night to dedicate to this stuff, that's why progress is so frustratingly slow.  I am working on things to prepare this, but I am basically learning all the development process as I go, so things are not progressing quickly.

I haven't yet got linux GUI or windows wallet compiled, that's my next thing to learn unless someone can volunteer to do that...  that's where I'm at.

On the home screen of the wallet can you add a Total line?  It's nice to know at a glance how much you will have once the stake is released.  I noticed quite a few other PoS wallets have it (DIG/SHA/SYNC)

Wow, a single address with 1.7+ billion coins, talk about a bagholder!

I recommend that everyone give a quick look at this sheet davidlatapie is working on and I have help a bit with. Comparison of PoS coins https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ikUfhQXaWMe8BrfS8QpiO3X86xynoK0U6eLlWpE4wDk/edit#gid=1866335594

Looking good...  I have many stake wallets, nice to compare them all.

Trying to get this thing working with an X13 coin, is there tricks to doing this?  I have managed to get it working except for it only shows block 0...   Been a long road to get it working at all.

Since this is being actively worked on, unlike so many other coins, is it possible to implement an in wallet version upgrade notification, something noticeable, but low key, like a small banner just to let you know there's a newer version of the client being seen on the network?

I remember seeing something like that come up in Maxcoin early on, dunno if it still has that feature.  Would be nice to see that feature in many coins...

The peers you just listed are these peers you no longer have, or the only ones you have?

Those are the ones I can see now, but I used to have 20+ peers.  I have 24 connection in the Truckcoin wallet, and I had around the same in this wallet, could just be coincidence.

Does anyone have a node list?  Running 1.0.1, can't connect to any peers.

Here's what I have so far.

addnode=192.241.233.70
addnode=104.131.135.232
addnode=104.131.135.232:18775

addnode=92.11.15.30:53924
addnode=155.210.85.36:55666
addnode=10.10.0.6

Since the update this morning I seem to have a lot less peers, not sure why...  gonna look into it.

I see:
addnode=192.241.233.70:18775
addnode=98.213.214.114:18775
addnode=155.210.85.36:18775

So this coins doesn't provide anything to miners at all??? Why do they still mine the coin, for fun??

This coin is by design not mineable, it's a pure PoS coin from launch, forking TRK and duplicating the wallet's balance for initial distribution. No mining, just minting. I find that interesting (pun intendend) and I like the dev. That's why I'm in. Plus, the interest from PoS is actually similar to mining in this case. At least it seems it will be. We're still getting things sorted.

I like the coin as well, have bought some coins. But there is a blockcahin isn't it? So someone has to do hash-calculations to make a valid block and share it with the rest. My question is, why would someone do that, when there's no reward for al the hashes??? And what if there are no people left to calculate hashes and create new valid blocks???

The hashing is done via Proof of Stake. PoS hashing is based on coin weight rather than hash power.

It helps to think of the coins in a wallet sitting there not moving are the equivalent of mining hardware mining at a certain hashes per second.

For example, on a PoW network you may need 10mh/s to generate 100 coins a day, on a PoS network, the equivalent could be 10k coins needed to generate 100 coins a day.  Obviously these are just made up numbers and you'd have to do more than just drop 10k in to see the 100 coins a day, but as far as how to think about proof of stake, that's the idea.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HYP] HyperStake | Proof of Stake | 750% Annual | Trading on Coin-Swap on: July 12, 2014, 06:25:46 PM
I have some rather large chunks of coins, but I think it makes sense for the network's sake to leave them alone right now rather than split them to maximize stake return.
If I leave them they will help the network generate blocks sooner than if I broke them up, and will split once the block is generated anyway.

Is this essentially correct?  I don't mind missing out on a bit of reward generating the 1000 unit blocks if it helps the network more.

Here's how I'd play it (making up the details for examples sake). Say you have ten blocks, all fairly large. I'll say 10K coins each just for example's sake.

Open up coin control and see which ones are closest to staking. exclude them from tweaking until after they stake, as you said. Then choose a block to break up. do the right number of sends to get that block into 1600 coin blocks. Then wait a day, and do it again. Rinse and repeat until you have all of them set up the way you want. I would try to stagger it so that you have one block (at least) staking every day once they start to mature, and then just keep tweaking them in that manner as they stake. It'll keep the chain moving, and this early in the game won't cost you enough in coin maturity to matter.

That sounds like a solid plan.  I like the fact that my TEK wallet gets about 10-11 blocks a day now since I did a lot of solo mining back when I could, so the PoS rewards are perfectly staggered throughout the month.  I will work on getting these coins into similar shape for smooth staking.

How do I KNOW what coins are closest to staking?  Is it confirmations & priority?  Weight means they are up for stake, so I wouldn't touch those.

Alright everyone, I'll release the latest build of the wallet now - v1.0.1 - I was going to wait until the new logo was chosen, but I think the syncing icon and the weight icon have been too confusing to a lot of people so the fix should be released now. v.1.1 will probably come out in a few days with new logo etc, and will only have minor code changes.

Code:
- Port change to 18777 so it can run side by side with TRK
- Fix minting icon and calcs to be more accurate
- Fix syncing icon to have no time requirement
- add moneysupply rpc command (preliminary)
- Add weight in coin control
- Misc minor GUI changes to coin control

https://github.com/presstab/HyperStake/releases/tag/v1.0.1

Thank YOU!!!  Smiley

I have 3 blocks with weight, one has 4853 and the other two have 1698

I should be staking any time now, right?  The Stakeulator says 7 seconds.  What would prevent me from generating a block?

The new client is showing blocks with weight?

What I meant to say was blocks of coins with weight, in the coin control window.

Now I've used all the stake that showed in the coin control and generated blocks (no weight showing in weight column), but the icon says I'm minting and I've got 5961 weight...?

Also the network weight of 1492492 seems high...  probably that icon can still be ignored.

Still having issues. Maybe a walk through is needed. I downloaded the zip file and put it in my file like I normally do. But there is no updated QT in there. There is another file to download that has the QT but it does not give me the option to save it. It only lets me run it. So I guess what am i doing wrong?

Use a different browser to download the QT

oooh snap just got a block

Wow blocks coming in!!!

Got a couple too!!!  Phew.

It's not that you are stuck, everyone is stuck.

Can we please have an updated windows build?  I have no clue where my stake is at because of the lack / wrong info in 1.0

Why cant people just wait till monday when blocks will be found by PoS....

I don't mean the hardfork changes, just the changes to fix the stake info and adding weight column in coin control.  Bug fixes.

There are no hardfork changes, this plainly shows your ignorance towards this, if you were paying attention, a lot of people's blocks will start to be found on monday because on sunday the coin was forked to HYP..... sunday = 6. 6+8 = 14. 14 = monday.

I understand that, what I was referring to is the changes that were being discussed about doing a hard fork to speed up the blockchain, which I was not asking for.

As for my original request, it still stands.  The stake info is broken in 1.0 and the bugfixes should be compiled into a 1.1 windows binary.

Thank you. So i can assume that nobody using this windows wallet can get it to sync? or is it that the wallet works? Whats going on???

Why release something that don't work... DURRRRRRRRRRRR

It syncs, it works just fine.

Block generation is slow right now because there are not enough mature coins right at this moment to generate new blocks.  Just have to wait for coins to mature, common issue for PoS only coins.
