Delegated Proof of Stake - good if you're a whale with lots of that type of coin. For normal people tho, masternodes are cool, have a google and also check out CRAVE, one of the highest returning and also currently cheap coins out there.

Masternode coins/Staking coins are interesting investment vehicles because of their passive income potential. They deserve their own mention in any investment strategy in my opinion.

Check out masternode coins or staking coins.. Either are profitable with CPU power alone. Mining is wasted gear and energy these days.

Are you asking re day trading or long term holding?
For long term some Alts like CRAVE have really good passive income potential. I think differences like this separate it from more static assets like litecoin (not saying it's a shitcoin, but unless you're mining it you can't make more of it).
For short term, you'd look for high volatility and a low entry point, and then sell it quickly on the next pump.
The desired outcome is "MOAR BITCOIN" right? So even a shitcoin can deliver if you use it to your advantage.
There's no black and white. You have to eval each coin on it's points of difference and judge for yourself if you think it has profit potential.

Before you buy lots of gear, you should check out Masternode coins as well. No need to buy any gear or spend lots of money on power + passive income is possible with a long term view. Have a google and read up about what they are and how they work. Masternode coins are where it's at. They're not fast, but passive income is possible with a long term holding view. And in the mean time, you can skim free crypto coins off the top and either re-invest or spend them without worrying that you won't have any more. With masternoding and staking, you have a cup that re-fills, slowly but surely.. and so far this is working out well in the months since I've discovered these coins. Dash got me interested but it was too expensive, then PIVX. And my old mining gear is in the garage waiting for a museum to open that will want them  |
