1141  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CENTRALIZED EXCHANGES VS DECENTRALIZED EXCHANGES for BITCOIN - A MIDDLE-GROUND? on: May 26, 2018, 06:45:02 AM
Both types of exchanges are needed.
Fiat-crypto centralised exchanges and decentrilized non-fiat exchanges.
A decentrilized exchange that match current exchanges in speed and UX will be born and gain popularity until the end of 2019.
1142  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Will Bitcoin be used easily in real world purchases soon? on: May 26, 2018, 06:37:48 AM
Too early for that even if governments would accept it.
A long way to go. Here is a roadmap )
1. Get a faster and cheaper system than bitcoin widely accepted in internet shops and between people.
2. Decentrilized exchanges rise or security tokens become legal.
3. Stablecoin based on stakes in companies with real value and moderate growth appears.
4. At this point it makes sense for a common person to keep most of the assets in stable coins and buy goods with them, while keeping a small part of assets in volatile alts and common shares.

1145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best Alternative To Coinmarketcap on: May 23, 2018, 03:26:35 PM
Charts with selected currencies in selected currency or index is what would be really nice.
1146  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Digital Currency Take Over on: May 23, 2018, 08:56:17 AM
The dream of paying for a latte with crypto will have to wait for some time.
We have to focus on micro payments in internet and make crypto worldwide accepted internet currency.
There is a huge list of what can be paid with crypto but the process must be really easy for the end user.
1147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin under 1$ to invest in now? on: May 22, 2018, 03:41:06 PM
It's a big mistake to take into any consideration individual coin price.
Current Market cap vs future Market potential is what is important for a coin.
1148  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What features do you miss in Cryptocurrency Wallets? on: May 22, 2018, 11:59:50 AM
Thanks for the list! We lack a couple of features from it and will see if we can add them.
Yes, it will be open source.

1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why cryptocurrencies necessary in today's world on: April 09, 2018, 09:09:27 AM
1. Fiat money is designed to lose value to drive consumption and taxes up.
If you have 100$ you would be able to buy 98$ worth of goods in 1 year.
81,7$ worth of goods in 10 years if the government won't print some more.
So fiat money always flows where capital can be saved from inflation.
Cryptocurrencies are one of the good bets longterm.

2. Your bank account can be frozen and a bank can prohibit a transaction you want to make.
Crypto if free from it.

3. Too much control over banks caused counter measures.
A private person could be just fine with a bank account and Visa/MC, but companies not so much.
You can't make any international transfer now without lots of documents and banks block accounts of legitimate businesses every day because they disliked one of the clients for example.
So international business will adapt to use crypto.

4. Volatility.
That's the bad side of crypto right now for many use scenarios.
But stable tokens are coming.

5. Speed and volume of transactions.
Cryptocurrencies will be fast and will be able to process millions of transactions in the nearest feature.
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have 5 ETH for buying Tokens on: April 04, 2018, 10:24:40 AM
Buy only something you understand and believe in long-term.
If you don't understand the economics behind the token/coin and why it's market share should increase vs bitcoin/eth - keep your position in ETH.
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google-Twitter Crypto Ad Bans: What Impact will they have on the Cryptocurrency on: April 03, 2018, 10:04:45 AM
I think it's a very good thing in the long run.
That will help a lot for pure crypto-networks to grow.
Closing the gates to transfer crypto to fiat and donate them to centralized corporations is right way to go.
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can you suggest to new investors in crypto? on: March 16, 2018, 08:28:49 AM
1. Forget about fiat money. Calculate your PnL in Bitcoin or Top10 index.
2. Buy only coins/tokens you understand and belive long-time and wait till it's get to the point you expect it to be.
3. If you still make a short-time oriented buys in tokens you know little about plan entry and exit points and don't use emotions.
1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google to BAN crypto advertising-includes Youtube on: March 14, 2018, 10:09:38 AM
It will be a long game.
The harder the rules against crypto projects become, the faster the crypto eco-system matures in alternative internet.
The world needs most popular services like youtube to be decentrilized and owned by everybody and not by some corporation.
1155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Idea against theft of crypto assets. on: March 01, 2018, 11:07:14 AM
Example SAFE for Coins.

You create Wallet A and B on your device.
And you create Wallet C that can only transfer to Wallet A or B and needs 1h or 24h or 1 month to make the transaction.
Wallet C is a 1/2 MultiSig Wallet.

You store B and 1 C password offline.
And A and 1 C password online

If you send some coins to Wallet C - they get locked and can only be send to A and B.
So if you lose passwords of A and 1 password to C to hacker you can still move your funds to B

A lot of problems appear with Exchange wallets getting hacked etc
So we think of an Idea of a safe storage for some of the coin.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth chasing hardforks? on: February 27, 2018, 02:21:52 PM
Forks must have an Idea behind them and a Team willing to execute and market this new network.
If not - I would stay away from them.
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people think that ETH can Overcome Bitcoin? on: February 23, 2018, 01:30:08 PM
All cryptos together are a single market with market cap in fiat (or better to say purchase strength) based on the amount of people that want in or out at the current moment.
20% of real usage are topped with 80% speculative pricing just as with stock market.
Think of cryptos as about one big corporation worth 500B$.
100B$ is justified by usage and 400B$ is speculative cap based on corporation growth expectations.

Between different coins and tokens the market is shared.

Bitcoin - the BIG brand powered by media with technology behind that has no future.
Bitcoin is doomed to live on as a fork on a new technology.
The faster it happens the better for the whole market as Bitcoin sucks out billions $ for electricity and asics out of the crypto industry.

Ethereum - is less known in real world, but is deeply integrated in whole crypto market.
The work horse behind all tokens and it's price will grow as more people start to understand how everything works.

new tech - market growth and perspectives has attracted lots of devs.
First huge wave of 2017 were mostly teams that couldn't find funding on venture market or wanted to raise funds on hype.
2018 will be the year in which top teams step in that didn't have the need to hurry

My expectations are that BitCoin in it's current state won't remain #1
Even worth than that.
Top5 will be a race of new tech and Ethereum
1158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Idea against theft of crypto assets. on: February 20, 2018, 01:37:51 PM
Additional variant.

Multi-signature Walles A and B and Wallet C are created.
Making a transaction requires 1 signature of wallet A or wallet B to be approved by the network.
Transaction is only approved if it goes to Wallet C.
Negative signature of wallet A or B cancels transaction.

So 1 signature is  enough to make a transaction after 24 hours on hold (time can be adjusted).
2 signatures required for instant tranaction.
1 signature for transaction and one against it - cancels the transaction.

That practically makes a SAFE Wallet where signature B can be stored offline and used only in emergency.
Common network transactions work as usual as SAFE Wallets can only transfer funds to the specified Wallets.
1159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Idea against theft of crypto assets. on: February 11, 2018, 05:20:44 PM
Idea abstract example:
Smart contract or special wallet with a second signature that can cancel a transaction within a certain period specified by a data-transaction in the network.

Simple example.
An exchange creates a wallet where it keeps it's assets.
It sets 24 hours to cancel any outgoing transaction by an additional password.
The second password is stored securely and is not needed until a successful hacker attack happens.

Negative:
- you have to wait for 24 hours (or whatever time is specified)
- if you loose the second password your assets could be blocked by attacker, but you keep the password securely stored for emergency and don't have to use it online until it happens
Positive: even if you loose both passwords hacker can't use the funds, it will be a cat and mouse game that will discourage stealing

There can be multiple variations.
Same password can make transactions and cancel.
MultiPasswords for cancelation are needed.
And other.

Please tell what do you think about the idea?

disclosure: we are building a new PoS cryptocurrency and want to discuss some new ideas with the community
