1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is less stable than some ALTs ! on: December 25, 2018, 11:22:37 AM

So regardless of the reason of this last dip. I noticed 2 of the top 10 coins ( XRP and XLM) sort of survived the dip and performed well against BTC which usually is not the case comparing this dip to  previews dips . take 11th oct 2018 for example.

in USD rate in the last 7 days :

BTC dropped : 13.48%
XRP dropped : 6.7 %
XLM dropped : 9.2%

also XRP surpassed ETH "not for the first time" but this time i think it will last.

I think that these 2 coins will remain more stable than bitcoin for a long time.

seems like centralization or semi-centralization in crypto is going to take over one way or the other. I hope not but we shall see soon.

tell me what you guys think?

The problem in your argument is you are comparing the 2 most successful alts on bitcoin. You are comparing bitcoin with the alpha of its other category which is alts. We have a thousand number of alts and you are generalizing that alts are more stable at bitcoin. You can see even only at top 10 that alts have more problems than bitcoin and that makes your argument invalid.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you regret it not selling at peaked on last jan 2018 ? on: December 25, 2018, 10:33:01 AM
Do you regret it ?
or do you believe BTC will create a new ATH ?

I really do regret it a lot and made me really frustrated not only at bitcoin but in whole cryptocurrency world. It is really annoying but it really give a really important lesson here in the world of crypto. Dont be greedy and be satisfied on what you earned. That greed will eat you alive.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I've just put ALL my student savings into TURTLECOIN ($50K) on: December 25, 2018, 10:19:50 AM
You lost me at the first F**K have you ever thought about posting without using expletives and bad language? Be prepared to take some knocks and learn from them investing is not simple and at 17 the irony is you think you know everything about life but in reality, you know nothing. Listen to your parents they have experience and wisdom behind them.

This is exactly my opinion on this thread. Just a newbie and throw all his money to invest in an altcoin that has a low market cap. Maybe his youth giving him a larger balls than his brain especially he invested his parent's hard worked money. Or maybe he is just someone who is promoting turtle coin and make some hype over it. Its in the internet and we dont know if he really is telling the truth.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Perspective about HODL. on: December 25, 2018, 10:03:50 AM
Actually Before I comment on HODL or no HODL, I need to say it depends how you purchased the coin and at what price.
Suppose I purchase something at $100, it means I am confident on my research that its price is $100, if now market start trading at 90$ and my research still says it is good at $100, then I will HOLD. If I now come to some new facts that make me believe that it actual price $80. then I will sell at $90 at once.

This is a really good statement. Today's market opens a very good opportunity for new investors because the dip is too much but we can still see the use of that cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin. But on the other hand, hodlers lose too much money exponentially which is really a pain in the ass. So i do think it is much better to lose a smaller value and invest it in other alt coins instead of hodling it and losing a lot more money.

Interesting prediction but it is really hard to predict or know how bitcoin will move and if it will pump or dump in a certain time. Bitcoin's value is so volatile and nobody even dreamed that bitcoin will dump tremendously together will ethereum and other alt coins.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use bitcoin? on: December 24, 2018, 02:26:51 PM
1. Speculative/trading/buying coins hoping to get rich.

2. As a medium of exchange, currency to buy stuff just like you would for money.

3. As a means in itself to make money, i.e mining.

Also why did you get into bitcoin?

1. You were one of the first movers? You thought it was cool, interesting, you were here from the start?
2. Revolutionary ideas that it's going to change the world, banking system, etc.
3. You were just curious and then the more you looked into it, you saw how cool it was and promising(me).
4. Speculation, wanting to get rich.

Speculative/trading/buying is really the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. It really helped me to earn more and learn new different things and it really caught my attention. Trading and buying really helped me bigtime in my expenses and it is a really good investment.

Install this free App from playstore for your latest information on Cryptocurrency

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adams.bitcoin

3. BE A CRYPTO TRADER:This is the best and easiest way of making more bitcoin and money. This is similar to FOREX but different in that crypto trading has high volatility and that is where the money is VOLATILITY. I am involved in crypto trading full time. Ever since i started about 5 months ago i have no regrets.

This is what Im doing this past year and it really helped me a lot. I do have many failures in trading but it really teach me some really valuable lessons that makes me who am I right now. Trading is really fun to do while you are earning. Learning new things that really caught my interest while giving me the opportunity to earn exponentially.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Again, Bitcoin described as a Bubble. on: December 23, 2018, 02:45:44 PM
Practically no one, outside of computer science departments, can explain how cryptocurrencies work, and that mystery creates an aura of exclusivity, gives the new money glamour, and fills devotees with revolutionary zeal, […] None of this is new, and, as with past monetary innovations, a seemingly compelling story may not be enough.

He's so ignorant. I have never studied computer science and could explain it with ease and before somebody starts screaming that exception confirms the rule, i'll add that I don't even know a single person who studied computer science and is interested in BTC. In reality most bitcoiners are normal people with various interests, not programmers like this guy seems to think.

Somebody should send him one of those very short explanations of BTC that can be found online. It really can be fully described in less than a minute.

On point! People use their technical knowledge to sway people without proving anything. Bitcoin is here for years and making people successful by using it smartly and effectively. Many people are also heart-broken on this massive dump but I really do hope that it will regain its original state.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy now or wait? on: December 23, 2018, 02:23:42 PM
Hi, i am wondering if i should buy a little bit of top 20 coins at current prices, 8th dec 2018, or wait until the market gets lower. What do you guys do?

I have bought the current dip, or at least... when market cap was still around 120 billion usd. Following my policy to buy after huge drops only, i planned to buy the next dip if market cap is around 60 billion usd. But should i not buy the current dip twice? Because what if the bakkt launching next month is succesful? What if it gets followed up by the ETF getting approval in the february sec-decision? What if it all comes paired with new developments that occur? Is this a realistic scenario for short-term?

What would you do, if you were following my plan/policy? I don't buy with large amounts so i can take some losses, what do you think is best?

Based on my experience, a cryptocurrency dump is a very good opening for someone who wants to invest. That crypto dump is really fatal and made some real losses but it also opened the door for a very good opportunity to invest especially the price of the alts dumped exponentially.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who wants to use Bitcoin? on: December 23, 2018, 02:10:46 PM

This is one of the most beautiful cartoons I've ever seen. Very well explained indeed.
Everybody wants to have a bitcoin.
Someone wants to buy bitcoin.
But nobody wants to use it.
That's a big problem. We need to use this. We need to use it.

What do you think about this?

Because the demand of using bitcoin as a payment is pretty low. Some people just want to own bitcoin to use it as an investment. Many people want to buy bitcoin also because it is a really good investment even the market is dumped.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trouble of Altcoins on: December 22, 2018, 02:13:39 PM
Friends today I checked the market in the morning and it's just awful, falling, falling, and falling again. What altcoins do you think should be kept from top 10 or buy or drop part of the portfolio and keep only Bitcoin and possibly Ethereum that has fallen? As much as I understand this year it's better to hold?

It was really awful, terrible and annoying. I lost a couple of dollars on this massive drop and i cant help to be sad. I invested too much on alt coins and when ethereum dumps, other alt coins dumped exponentially. Hoped in 2019 that the market will regain its original state.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It might not be easy, you just have to let go on: December 22, 2018, 01:56:58 PM
Year 2018 seems to have the most prolonged dip from what i have seen so far. Some people had serious loss along the line; some vowed never to invest in cryptocurrency again; some sold all their assets and left.
Your encounters though might seem not encouraging, but do you know that you are better of than the person that is just coming in, because of what you now know.
Let go of your mistakes, but whenever you remember them, tell yourself it is not yet over, the crypto space will still get better and you will be glad you're still in the system.

This is what I feel right now. That dump really got the best in me. Lost a couple of dollars and making numerous mistakes at investing which is really annoying and very frustrating. I'm just looking forward at 2019 and be my year at cryptocurrency.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When people say Bitcoin is dead, make sure to show them this... on: December 22, 2018, 01:53:48 PM
When people say Bitcoin is dead, make sure to show them this graph. What an outstanding performing asset. This is why people invest in Bitcoin, hold on to your seat belts!
 Wink
What are your thoughts for next 12 months?

Basically, Bitcoin died a hundred times now. For every dump, people usually went on panic mode and panic sell all their bitcoin or their other alternative coins. Dont be a part of crypto if you are not ready to lose something.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto should I buy now on: December 22, 2018, 01:48:22 PM
I have about $2500 to spare
And I want to invest into a coin
Please help me decide on one of these coins

1. VECHAIN.                                 VET
2. ICON.                                         ICX
3. PUNDI X.                                   NPXS
4. MONEYTOKEN.                        IMT
5. BASIC ATTENTION TOKEN.   BAT

I intend to keep buying some of these coins with spare Money as time goes but can't make up my mind on which to buy first now

Your opinion will be highly appreciated.

It is pretty risky to invest on alt coins now. Many alt coins dumped tremendously and its really hard to say when the market will came back to its original state. Even bitcoin is part of the massive dump, bitcoin is still one of the safest place to invest in.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People with most bitcoins should be in their 20's by now on: December 21, 2018, 02:03:11 PM
Bitcoins have been over a couple of hundred dollars for more than 5 years now. Kids can only get so many by mining. Don't imagine too many teenagers have 10+ bitcoins without family help in getting them.

Bitcoin is maturing, and so are its holders.

Alts are probably a different story

Well I don't see any chances teenagers could have 1 bitcoin and above. They can't work to have one except if they have rich parents. Title should be changed to 'People with most bitcoin should be at least 20 years old. It is pretty possible and some 20+ year olds are really interested in cryptocurrency especially in bitcoin.

I have read your whitepaper and I can say that this project is really promising. And I agree in one of your beliefs which is there will be a great future of real estate investments and commmerce by having an inherent system and simplicity through global governance and standards like what your project has proposed.

I have read your price structure for token sale. Just wanted to know, which currencies will you accept in your token sale? And also do you have exact dates for sales round?

I want to ask these questions, too. There are no exact dates to see on their website. I only see "coming soon" and "to be determined".

Very cool project! Thank you to your team for your hard work and your further development in having discussion and deals with local governments.  I believe there will be a large number of investors and impressive prospect in the future.  Smiley Wink
