4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / TOP 15 Blockchains platforms by daily active addresses (December and November) on: December 30, 2019, 08:10:31 PM

One of the ways to measure the month to month usage of the blockchain platform is to check the amount of average daily active addresses.

"Active addresses are unique addresses that were active in the network (either as a recipient or originator of a ledger change) that day. All parties in a ledger change action (recipients and originators) are counted. Individual addresses are not double-counted if previously active."

According to the infographic, Bitcoin remains to be the leader. ETC came back to the second spot followed by Ethereum. Digibyte lost 11 positions this month and the average of daily active addresses is down by 98%. The activity of Digibyte addresses stabilized after the sudden surge in November.

This month, Tezos has entered the list, Tezos took 14th spot with average of 5957 active addresses in December and outperformed Ripple and Cardano (Cardano took 16th position and are not represented on the infographic)

Overall, we can see that 9 out of 15 analyzed platforms have experienced a decrease in the amount of daily active addresses in December.
Top gainers are Stellar (27%) and Ethereum Classic (20%). Top losers are DBG (-98%), Ripple (-33%), and Tron (-27.5%).

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is YouTube Now Cracking Down on Crypto Related Contents? on: December 30, 2019, 04:25:15 PM
Maybe youtube are just playing safe here. Since a lot of people are losing money in crypto investments, they want crypto related videos gone so they will not be blamed by the proliferation of crypto-related losses. But I think should not be all videos, they should assess the content. If it is more on informational videos towards crypto, they should not delete.

You are right on YouTube not deleting informational videos on crypto. YouTube has also released a statement that in bid to sanitise it community or those crypto videos that are primarily for fraud, it erroneously wiped some important and informative crypto videos. They have restored normalcy ever since anyway
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers Just Had A Field Day on Nuls. $480k Worth Token Stolen on: December 30, 2019, 04:19:50 PM
These hacks are getting out of hand simply because all these project and also exchanges seem to less invested into the security side. they need to realize that it's crypto and one security hole could lead to the destruction of their token. I just baffled to see that they seem to never learn about anything even if the hacking always occured. more hackers are targetting crypto because it's all vulnerable money and people need to put their concern and put security as highest priority.

You can't be any wrong on this at all because if these exchanges spend extra cash on bug hunting on monthly basis, I am sure a lot of vulnerabilities these hackers swoop on to their advantage would have been discovered on time and as well corrected
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Expectations for year 2020 on: December 30, 2019, 01:33:29 PM
Libra and IEOs made the year for me in 2019, it woke up the market which has been really boring for the whole of 2018. I am hoping that this 2020 will bring new tidings for crypto. New innovations and ground breaking projects that will force investors hands accross the globe
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance’s IEOs keep Dumping, but why? on: December 30, 2019, 01:29:36 PM
What is the purpose of Matic..? These IEO coins are no different than any ICO coins. People need to understand that Biance doesnt endorse these coins or projects. They are just platform to give them investments. Sooner or later this was going to happen but the dump is higher than we expected.

I understand your concern but matic dump was bound to happen because its tokenomics and allocation was clearly indicated on the whitepaper. So team released a percentage of the tokens as planned. I have no problem with that seriously, smart investors would have sold matic after the incredible moon and bought back.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Bleeding on: December 30, 2019, 01:20:23 PM
Altcoin is not increasing for so many days. New money is not coming in market. So Always invest in good Top 30 Altcoins for being Safe.

Well the positive thing remains that Altcoins are not dumping terribly too. They are holding strong on support and it shows belief. Sometimes, you just have to look on the brighter sides of things too. Hopefully we will record more landmark achievements in cryptocurrency that will boost investors
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is YouTube Now Cracking Down on Crypto Related Contents? on: December 25, 2019, 11:23:43 PM

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Hackers Just Had A Field Day on Nuls. $480k Worth Token Stolen on: December 23, 2019, 02:28:25 PM

In its tweet, Nuls said it had detected that 2 million tokens had been transferred, of which 548,354 tokens — worth roughly $131, 600 — had entered the trading market and were now untraceable.

Will there be a remedy for the incessant hacks in 2020?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The Bulls Don't Just Bring Money, It Also Grows the Community Size on: December 23, 2019, 02:23:10 PM
The Bitcoin (BTC) subreddit has seen a remarkable increase in its number of subscribers since the cryptocurrency’s price spike last summer.

Cypherpunk and proclaimed Bitcoin maximalist Jameson Lopp posted a tweet on Dec. 23, saying “the rate of new subscribers to the /r/bitcoin subreddit accelerated after the exchange rate jumped this summer. It grew in size by 222,000 users - 22% growth in 2019.”

Two more of such bull runs and we will have BTC and Crypto saturate the globe Wink
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Future of bounty campaign. on: December 23, 2019, 12:01:50 AM
Day by day people are getting to know crypto currency, each day good number of interested people join the BitcoinTalk forum. The way the bounty qualifications and rank was in 2012 is not any more. Getting to the next rank is getting more difficult,KYC came in and many other changes, Now don't you think very soon most signature will only be opened to people from Full member and/or very few number will be given the chances of participation in many bounty campaign to have it convenient?

I believe you know Bounty Campaigns are form of marketing. So basically, it hovers around the best decisions need to make a bounty campaign more fruitful. If reaches and desired results are not met in the future, the campaign organisers and custodians like bitcoin talk can make changes to bring desired results. This are is not may worry as long as it doesn't decimate bounty campaigns by crypto projects
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When next bull run happen?? on: December 22, 2019, 11:48:57 PM
Take this to the bank if you wish. The next bull run will happen after adoption by centralised bodies and government in USA and Europe. And of course this means regulation. If this happens, I am sure the rest of the world will jump into cryptocurrency and then comes the massive bull run
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins to go crazy again once Bitcoin reaches 20k? on: December 22, 2019, 11:45:10 PM
Is it possible that we see another altcoin season, if Bitcoin breaches the all-time high and go above 20k? Do you find a direct correlation?

Definitely. New and new people will go jump into crypto again if they see BTC in 20k again or above. And they will start buy cheap alts. But at first we must see 20k... Hope this happens after BTC halving

Bitcoin halving may not really meet the high price expectations people set for it simply because of the reason that market expansion is direly needed to achieve that. If the market remains as compact it is currently, then the margin may not be too high.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH - Going to 70$? on: December 22, 2019, 11:37:30 PM
Ethereum will not reach the price of $ 70 is still far from market movements but an increase that will occur from now on $ 130 will jump to the price of $ 150 and this is the right moment to buy Ethereum at a low price.
2020 will be the year awaited so Ethereum movement will increase and not be as bad as this year.
Hoping still that ETH will go up and bring another good run to the investors who entrusted their money with this project. If there's no issue that will happen with the new updates and if more investors will show interest while halving for bitcoin and updates for this project comes up next year. take time and analyze the opportunities where the values still considerable.

investors expect it to go higher than that ATH last 2017. this is the only altcoin that moon high because of its smart contract innovations, its one platform that really worked as its purpose. if ETH2.0 will be successful then its price is going fullspeed. right now the price of eth will just be drag up by the price of BTC since nothing yet is certain to this eth2.0 update.

I think BNB did far better than ethereum this year because it crossed its all time high up to 25usd although the glory was short lived for its investors. With that being said, 2020 will be a huge year for eth because of it innovations and upgrades on the chain. We have already seen two forks already. Hopefully by next year, the effects will reflect on the eth prices
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware; Do not Fall for Phishing Sites, Do Not Be a Victim of Scams on: December 22, 2019, 11:23:14 PM
Phishing site is the basic thing to avoid in cryptocurrency because there are many scammers who want your coins.
As long we are very careful to check every time we visit any website, we will not be phished, and always double and triple check the link or url.
It is good for you and others.  We need to be more aware of small things that can have a big impact.  Phishing sites are one of them.  With vigilance, we will be safe and avoid scammers.
Scammers have many ways to get what they want.  I'm used to not joining airdrop and not visiting sites that are usually sent via spam email.
Yes often we get emails and often we find sites on them. Sometimes we feel curious and finally open the site, I think this is something that often happens to all of us. When we feel that we need to open it, we will open the site and before we realize it is a phishing site. For now we better be careful with the sites that are submitted, don't be too curious about these sites.

Yes so many people are working in this now a day people use to spread such sites which gives people new hope about getting fast profit so we should not open those sites and make your own research about having profited by only real sites. Those who are greedy and want to become rich faster will get scammed by them.

Since I learnt through the hard way during the early days of myetherwallet that phishing was rampant, I now know better that the best way to access project websites with assurance is via coinmarketcap.com
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Two Years Ago, Bitcoin Was Over $19,000 — What Happened? on: December 20, 2019, 08:34:20 PM
What happened is that markets are fickle and people generally get stressed out over nothing.  I'm honestly past caring whether it's bull or bear season because I have no plans to sell in the foreseeable future.  Given that the traditional economy has effectively failed an entire generation or two, BTC is now, most likely, the only way I'm going to have anything resembling a pension when I retire.  This shit is my nest egg now.  Accumulate and hodl*.

*<insert usual disclaimer about not being a qualified financial advisor>

From a holders perspective, I doubt there should be any reason to worry about these daily price fluctuations. Holders should leave speculation to traders. Cryptocurrency and bitcoin has come to stay and its value is high important to the scheme of things which makes bitcoin integral to the development of future world economy
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Halving Price Prediction $55,000 - $130,000 on: December 20, 2019, 08:25:49 PM
i would be happy even we only break the 20$ grant last 2017 ,i dont want to frustrate myself looking for much higher because i know there will the the change of system this coming halving.
there will be abusing that happen from the biggest investors just like what they are doing in the market movement from the start.

Exactly my friend. I am more interested in bitcoin crossing its all time high of $20k than making new records at x3 of ath. Although previous history of bitcoin during halving had a tremendous return but we can't still overlook other variables that might take its toll on the price as well. So I will generally buy some btc and keep an open mind
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before I Invest With Cryptoqurrency? on: December 16, 2019, 10:56:16 PM
1. Check the overall contents of the project such as a team, road map, white paper, etc.
2. Check various features offered by the project such as privacy coins or decentralized coins.
3. Check how valuable the coins are or compare with other more popular coins. if the coins have potential, of course have a multi-professional team & the volume of coins always increases.
4. To be honest, the best coins to invest are the top coins or have been listed in the top 10 at CMC.
5. I suggest you invest in established coins rather than looking for very young and newly planted coins to invest.
I say this because I personally don't have a high risk appetite, so it's better to invest safely ..
how about you guys?

Also Investing in the top 10 crypto-currencies is never a big mistake for me. Investing in some of these cryptocurrency is also a guarantee of security.
What interests me is how to invest in cryptocurrency with less capitalization. For Altcoins, there are about 2,000. While some projects have enormous potential for growth, others are either scams or projects that are destined to disappear. It will, therefore, be necessary to be particularly vigilant before investing in one of them.
