21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin is approaching new highs - Only 41 days have been higher on: October 31, 2020, 12:17:41 AM
Hi Everyone!

We are starting to approach new highs. Although the climb has been slow at times, we are beginning to test prices that we haven't seen for years. I think sometimes people forget this since the process has been so long from the bull run of 2017, but it's exciting!

As of today, there have only been 41 days with higher prices for Bitcoin than today. That's pretty impressive considering Bitcoin has been around for over 3,600 days!

Bitcoin is approaching new highs - Only 41 days have been higher

When does everyone think we will break the all-time high?
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / Popular Investing Strategies for Beginners on: October 29, 2020, 02:02:42 AM
Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share some different investment strategies that are popular for beginners. It can be intimidating to start learning about crypto for the first time and how to trade, but these strategies will make the process far more simple.

Passive Crypto Investing Strategies for Beginners

What strategies do you use for your portfolio? I would love to keep adding to the list!

Looking forward to chatting with everyone.
23  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Historical Crypto Data for Developers on: October 15, 2020, 10:19:57 PM
Do you have anything similar to do but for historical mempool data?

I see lots of people analyzing bitcoin price, but not its network.

Thanks for asking! That data isn't currently available, but hopefully, it's something that can be integrated into the APIs for a future release.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Is this another implicit way of promoting a crypto exchange? I've been looking for your platform in this forum and I've found that you've been running for years yet you aren't that popular enough. BTW, what marketing strategies have you done to promote your business? It seems that it is the only thing that you lack but I've seen your intentions and platform were good. Regarding to the OP, it is so kind of you to provide script or simple codes to get data from the market but apparently you are requiring users to use your website. Better instead do some marketing strats to establish further trust and client popularity in this forum.

Thanks for asking! Shrimpy is not an exchange, but a trading platform. Shrimpy helps investors manage their portfolio by connecting to exchange accounts, automating trading, and providing other features.

If you have some suggestions for ways to promote the platform, we would appreciate any suggestions! We're always looking for new ways to engage customers.

Thanks!

27  Economy / Trading Discussion / I've automated my portfolio using machine learning for 100 days on: August 20, 2020, 12:08:14 AM
Hi Everyone!

I thought this would be an interesting discussion to start. Over the last 100 days, I've been automating my portfolio using machine learning. That means the machine learning models pick the assets that go into my portfolio at the start of each week and I stay out of the decisions.

So far, the results have been exceptional. Do you think machine learning will have a place in the crypto market?

You can read the full article here:

Machine Learning Picked My Crypto Portfolio for 100 Days

I think this is a promising start, so I would love to hear if there are other machine learning strategies you have been trying.

I'm excited to hear what you guys think!
28  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much BTC would you need to buy to increase the price by 1 percent? on: July 30, 2020, 12:15:23 AM
I apologize for the broken link, it has been fixed now!

I agree with a lot of the discussion here. The markets are always changing, so the amount it takes to move the market 1% will change over time. Maybe there is a way we could study how much it takes to move the markets over time? Would anyone be interested in a study like that?
29  Economy / Trading Discussion / How much BTC would you need to buy to increase the price by 1 percent? on: July 27, 2020, 10:47:23 PM
Hi Everyone!

I had an interesting question I was thinking about the other day. Essentially, how much Bitcoin would you need to buy in order to increase the price by 1%.

I decided to investigate by taking a recent situation as an example. I summarized my findings in this article here:

How much would it take to pump Bitcoin 1%

I would love to hear your thoughts! Do you agree with the study? Is there any additional information you think should be considered?

Looking forward to the discussion!
30  Economy / Trading Discussion / How I use machine learning to pick my crypto portfolio on: July 21, 2020, 10:48:40 PM
Machine learning has become a hot topic. With the release of GPT-3 we are in quickly changing times. As we continue this trend, we will begin to see more investigation into how we can apply machine learning to crypto portfolio management. In this article, I briefly discuss how I use machine learning to select my portfolio.

Selecting my portfolio with machine learning.

31  Other / Off-topic / Twitter has been hacked. [Discussion] on: July 15, 2020, 11:25:33 PM
Hi Everyone!

As some of you might know, Twitter was hacked earlier today. I wrote up a brief article on the hack as a starting point. But, I would like to have a discussion on the hack.

Twitter has been hacked.

Some questions I have for everyone here:

1. Who do you think is responsible for the hack?
2. Why do you think they chose to execute this old scam for the hack?
3. What do you think will be the impact on Bitcoin and Twitter?

Looking forward to the discussion!

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Predicting crypto prices with machine learning on: July 11, 2020, 07:46:02 PM
Hi Everyone!

I wanted to start a discussion about using machine learning for predicting crypto prices. Does anyone know about services that provide this service?

I've been running a study that uses the Nomics 7-Day Price predictions and the results have been amazing so far. I wanted to see what other services are out there so we can compare the results to other services.

You can find the weekly results of our study here.

Looking forward to discussing!
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Simple Guide to Explaining Ethereum on: July 10, 2020, 09:40:20 PM
I just published a simple guide for beginners that are trying to learn about Ethereum. I would love to hear your feedback!

Ethereum - Beginner's Guide
I have read the full guide. I can tell you that it's an informative article which can understood Ethereum for new comers. However, it doesn't explain Ethereum in deep without struggling in technical details. But it's a good start.
I have two additional notes:
1) Would like to know why you have chosen that platform to publish your guide?
2) Your Writing style is more suitable as a speech explanation. I mean that if you read the full article in a well designed video, it would be so convincing as the article seems to address directly to the reader like talking to him.

I encourage you to continue working on this kind of contents as you seems to have considerable skills in explaining complex subjects such as ethereum. Good luck

Thank you for the suggestion! That's a great idea. I'll see if I can put together more visual content to share on YouTube or other platforms. I agree that would be a nice way to distribute this kind of content.

As others have already noted, I am the author for this blog. So the reason I chose this platform was because it is where I publish all of my content. Although it is part of Shrimpy, I do everything I can to keep the content educational and non-biased. For example, this article is completely unrelated to Shrimpy, but I thought it would be a great topic to cover.

Let me know what other topics you would like to see covered in future articles!

40  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Portfolio Asset Selection Tips on: May 07, 2020, 12:23:22 AM
An excellent article with a lot of useful information but I have some comments about it:

  - Details without a clear outline of the outlines: The basic ideas of your article were not briefly presented, and then the reader was given the opportunity to limit which details he wanted to read.
  - Methods to verify the information: There are no methods to verify the information, for example, to verify that the data is correct, to verify the photos of the developing team and their data, and others.
 - Dependence on volumes and prices may lead to wrong results: classification of currencies based on trading volumes in some platforms or market capacity will lead to many losses.

Other than that, the article is somewhat excellent.

I appreciate your clear feedback! I will do my best to incorporate these thoughts into my future articles. Please let me know if there are any topics you think would be valuable for the community here to discuss!
