241  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto for Knowledge transferring on: December 05, 2017, 02:59:24 AM
Yea, I'm with the other users responding here. What knowledge are you specifically talking about? Technically all blockchains transfer knowledge if you consider data to be knowledge.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for team members for an ICO project on: December 04, 2017, 08:00:46 AM
This does not look promising. You essentially don't have a team. First, I can't find a single person you listed online, which suggests they are either unknown in their field of business, or they are simply not real. Second, you don't have a single technical position filled. This means you likely don't have the slightest idea of how to implement your idea, find skilled engineers, or lead a team of engineers. This project is bound to fail with the current team of misfit people you are putting together. I would suggest finding reputable advisors and solid engineers you can trust first before deciding you will do an ICO. An ICO happens AFTER you have something to demonstrate and show that you are capable of even making a functional blockchain.
243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Transfer My Entire Savings to Cryptocurrencies? on: December 04, 2017, 07:14:16 AM
I would say that it's not a good idea to move ALL of your investments to cryptocurrency. However, if you are young and have a strong safety net, I think investing a large portion of your investments into cryptocurrency would be reasonable. There are many advantages that traditional investment opportunities provide besides stability. They allow you to have pre-tax options, they allow you to plan long term for your retirement, and they act as a sort of safety net as well if you are falling on hard times.

Saying that, the most secure way to store your coins is in a hardware wallet that you maintain offline. If you have a lot of money to invest, I would suggest a tiered approach. I would keep a subset of your porfolio offline. This means on a hardware wallet that only you have access to. The coins held on this wallet will be long term holds that you believe in. I would then use a subset of the remaining as a balance over some of the riskier, but high potential coins. I would pick 5 coins that you think are up and coming and put 20% into each of those coins. The last subset of your coins can be used for trading. You can put these on an exchange such as Bittrex, Poloniex, or any of the other major exchanges and perform day trading.

So, in conclusion, what I would do if I was in your situation is take half of my investments and put them into crypto. Then, I would do a 50%, 30%, 20% split between long term holdings (offline), short term balancing over riskier coins that I believe in, and finally day trading on an exchange like Bittrex.
244  Economy / Goods / Re: Crypto T-Shirts on: December 04, 2017, 07:02:02 AM
Anyone who is thinking about buying some of these t-shirts, please don't. I would recommend finding a legitimate designer who didn't steal from other people. Support someone who actually put effort into their work and deserves your hard earned money. This sort of garbage is a complete insult to people who work hard only to have their work stolen.
245  Economy / Goods / Re: Crypto T-Shirts on: December 03, 2017, 06:01:43 AM
Do you own these images? I just searched and it looks like these images were stolen from other designers. Please don't sell things that don't belong to you.
246  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Expanding My Mining Farm on: December 03, 2017, 05:48:04 AM
You have a lot of options, but many will be impractical for your purpose. I will list some of them here:
  • ICO - I would say you should disregard this as a possibility unless you have a coin you can offer, a team to develop the coin, and a practical application that you are trying to tackle.
  • Traditional Venture Capital - This would be difficult to acquire unless you demonstrate how you're mining farm could capture a massive market and produce huge profits. I would say this is unlikely and not to mention most VC firms don't want a return on the profits, they want a return when the company goes public and they can sell your stock post IPO (or when you get acquired).
  • Business Bank Loan - This is probably the most practical of the options, however, it would of course require you to repay the loans. If the value of BTC falls or mining becomes less profitable, this could mean you have large loans you must repay.
  • Angel Investor - This is another practical option. Many angel investors are similar to traditional venture capitalists in that they would expect equity in the company, however, you may be able to negotiate a percentage of the profits instead. I don't know how much investment you are looking for, but I would say you could expect anywhere from 10K - 50K from reasonable angel investors.
  • Crowd Funding - There may be crowd funding resources similar to Kickstarter which allow for project creators to share the profits. I haven't looked into this, but it's quite possible. This would be a good bet if you can create a successful marketing campaign and demonstrate the potential profits of your business.

There may be more funding options, but these are the ones I usually look at when starting a new project. No matter how you attempt to get funding, making a strong business plan is important. Create documents which lay our your profits to date, how much you've spent on the endeavor, what your growth potential would be in the future, etc.

Best of luck!
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for Advisors and Team Members to join our project on: November 27, 2017, 02:47:13 AM
You're going to have a tough time convincing airlines to sign up to use your product. You'll be asking them to pay you $$ to lose more $$ each time something goes wrong - very oxymoronic to an already razor-thin margin business.

I would agree that this is true. I would also say that the entire product doesn't make sense. There is no reason to blockchain something that is centralized. The blockchain would need information from the airlines and there is no way around that. So why not just go directly from the airlines to the customer? There is no reason for them to go from the airline, to a third party blockchain, and then back to their customer. It's complete nonsense. It's also just another unnecessary thing the user needs to sign up for an manage. The airlines already know their customer, they already know if their planes are running on time, and they already know how to contact the customer. This is not a problem a blockchain can resolve. It also begs the question, why aren't they doing this already? Which suggests there is a reason they aren't doing it already... And the most obvious reason is because it costs them more money in payouts to customers. As I see it, there is no possible way an airline would use something like this. It adds no value that they can't already provide themselves.
248  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best Bitcoin Trading BOT? on: November 27, 2017, 02:35:07 AM
Hi,

I'm a newbie at crypto day trading and stock trading in general, been at it for two weeks, made a few gains, a few losses. Been doing trading on Bittrex mostly, though I've also used Cryptopia. Guess I'll try asking you guys on this thread instead of creating a new thread.

I've just heard about bots and got interested on the subject... however most of them seem too complicated and have too much features for me (all that market analysis stuff), besides they seem to take away all of the control and fun of trading. The kind of tools and features I'm looking for seems to be far simpler, yet no exchange seems to offer them - so I'd have to resort to some sort of bot.

All I want, at first, is a bot that simply allows me to set both "sell high" and "sell low" order values for cryptos I own - let's say for example I own 5 LTC currently priced at 0.009 BTC each. I'd like to have a bot that would connect to my Bittrex account through API and monitor the LTC rates, then place an immediate sell order of all my LTC in case the price went down to 0.008 BTC (as an obvious stop loss measure), AND also have it simultaneously programmed to place an immediate sell order in case the price went up to 0.010 BTC so I'd make a profit (obviously one order when performed would cancel out the other). Without a bot, using the trading tools on the exchanges themselves I can only do one or the other but not both, unless I missed something. I also could of use a feature where I'd program the bot to buy more of a coin / token in case the price goes down to a set value again, and resell it in case it goes up or down. So, nothing too complex.

I'd like to know if there's a free bot that's able to do what I describe... or in case I'd need to pay for one, which one would be the easiest, most reliable and user friendly for doing what I ask for. CAT and Cryptotrader seem too complicated for something so simple, but I'd be willing to try them and learn them if there's no other option.

I've been doing my research and found out that Coinigy (a platform, not a bot) has most of the features I've been looking for and they work well.

It's not free, though. There's a 30-day free trial period and after that you have to pay 15 USD/month. Still looking for some free alternative. Suggestions, please?

I was actually thinking of creating a free alternative to Coinigy that would work in parallel with the bot my team is developing (http://crabby.io/). Do you think you would be interested in an application that would do something like that? Also, what features do you like / dislike on Coinigy?
249  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: looking for data scientist& algorithm engineer/ great project/ lets make history on: November 26, 2017, 09:18:08 PM
Could you tell me a little bit more about the position? What languages / frameworks / technologies are you using? Will this be a native application or a website? How much is the salary? Where is the rest of the team located?
250  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Introducing Crabby - The Free Automated Cryptocurreny Trading Application on: November 26, 2017, 12:33:26 AM
Thank you to everyone who has continued to use the Crabby application. We are currently developing a new set of features which would allow you to create strategies using a strategy builder or scripts. This would open up the possibilities for what strategies can be developed or ran, and begin the process of accumulating a strategy library. We were hoping for feedback on what features you would like in a strategy builder, which statistics you would like to have available, and any other feedback you may have for us. Please let me know and we look forward to sending you updates when we are closer to the next release.
251  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Relationship of social media talk and coin price on: November 23, 2017, 12:55:57 AM
Did you develop this project? I think it's a very interesting project, but I believe the way the data is collected an analyzed is the most important component of whether or not it will be effective. I read some articles a while back about how a group at MIT was trying to trade on the stock market only using data collected from Twitter and it seemed to perform reasonably well.
252  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Civilian Blockchain Internet Drones? Has this been done before? on: November 23, 2017, 12:32:42 AM
Beaming Internet with Drones?

Idea like Launching 100 Drones from point A and landing at B, another 100 Drones take off from B, continue beaming Internet & land at point C, another 100 Drones take off from C, continue beaming Internet land at D. This goes and on. ..
Meanwhile, Drones immediately start charging by humans as they land. They are quickly positioned for take off after fully charged.

Their data will be hosted on Blockchain and their Control Center may be managed by humans through Blockchain.

Wonder if this has been done before? Will be great to see some ICOs lunched for this by anyone for just Cryptocurrency community.

✴Idea inspiration is from YouTube and a US company.

Pardon me for playing the devil's advocate.  But I dont think you will be needing a blockchain for keeping and storing all the data. Wont a database, centrally maintained and secured, be more cost-effective for that?

Unless your definition of a blockchain is different from mine.

You do know that a blockchain can store information? And for some reason I think it is more cost effective and secure to store the data in the blockchain.

I believe it's well established that blockchains can store information. The issues come when you scale a blockchain. How do you expect to store that much information in a blockchain? Consuming things from the internet would be an immense challenge for a blockchain. At this stage in the technology, there are many things a blockchain isn't suited to handle and this can't be over looked.

I agree with a previous poster that balloons are better suited for distributing internet. Drones are expensive, don't have a very long flight time (relative to 100% up time that is necessary for internet), are susceptible to weather conditions, and even illegal in some countries.

Just wanted to thank everyone that did try the application, we really appreciate it. To everyone else, we understand being hesitant to download an application, so we uploaded some youtube videos of the application in action.

Downloading and Installing Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tA3fSTkSn8

Creating your first bot on Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blcke_JGrS4
Running your first backtest on Crabby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ_d6WAEnQc

They are all pretty short (most ~1 minute, all under 3 minutes). The aim was to make them concise, but helpful.

Do you have a comparison to other Polo bots? They're a dime a dozen (even though yours is free I know)

I don't currently have a comparison off hand, but you can look at our website to see the features we currently support.

Here is a short breakdown:
  • Create unlimmited customizable bots.
  • Create configurable strategies based on some of the most widely used indicators in trading.
  • Analyze historic market data and run backtests.
  • View trade history and performance over time.

My team will be looking into ways we can further differentiate ourselves from other trading bots that are currently on the market as we continue developing. However, I would say that this version is an alpha release, not a full release. It has similar features to many of the other bots, but we are trying to focus on ease of use. We want to attract people who may not have gotten into trading bots because of the high cost. As our product advances, we are planning more unique features which will help differentiate ourselves from other applications. This is one of the reasons we are trying to communicate with the community. We would like know what the traders here want to see in the application. We don't want to develop in a black box and hope that people like what we are doing. Saying something is a dime a dozen is not sufficient reason not to do it. Our team can provide a high quality free application, so now we are working on determining what will make it better than everything else that is out in the market today. Do you have experience using other bot applications? If so, let me know how you think ours compares and what we could do to make it better.

How many users do you currently have on the application? Also, how many developers do you have managing the application?

256  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best Bitcoin Trading BOT? on: November 19, 2017, 04:39:05 AM
I saw this thread and figured I would throw in an alternative to the ones suggested. My team and I just released a trading bot we created called Crabby. It's completely free to use and it has some of the most common strategies that are used by traders. It currently only trades on the Poloniex exchange, but we will add more exchanges soon. Although it's an early release, I believe it still has features that people getting into bots for the first time would appreciate.

You can download it at: www.crabby.io. Please also let me know if there are features you would like to see in the next releases.
257  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoFigures.com - NEW PROJECT (LOOKING FOR PARTNER) on: November 19, 2017, 04:24:20 AM
You’ve got things the wrong way round.
An important lesson in business for te future is that the idea comes first. Never spend money on a business if here’s no concept/idea behind it. Once you have the idea and have started implementing it then worry about the domain/site/branding etc.
In essesne your post is looking for a ‘partner’ who’ll share their idea with you, have to implement most of it themselves all in exchange for a domain name that has limited potential.

If you’re a developer then it’s a bit of a different story but nonetheless should know that you don’t buy domains for a project you don’t have.

Domain buying is impulsive (I was guilty of it at one stage too) but lost enough to realise that unless you have something concrete, 9/10 times it doesn’t pay off.

I would agree. People don't visit a website because it's a good name, people visit a website because of what's there. Create something valuable and people will go to any website to get it. Think of all the websites you have never been to, even though they have great names. That's not to say marketing and raising awareness isn't important, it's just something that comes at a later date.
258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Introducing Crabby - The Free Automated Cryptocurreny Trading Application on: November 18, 2017, 10:45:40 PM
One of the next steps that we are planning is integrating new exchanges. Bittrex was on the top of our list for which exchanges we think would be best. As far as tools that are already available, could you let me know which tools you are referring to and I would be happy to share our vision and how it's different than those tools. To start, our application is free. When compared to the expensive tools that are in the market today, that is already a huge advantage. Additionally, our intentions with the application is to make it easy to use so that even people who are just getting introduced to bitcoin and trading now would be able to enjoy using trading bots. Do you have any specific features you would like to see added to Crabby?
259  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Introducing Crabby - The Free Automated Cryptocurreny Trading Application on: November 18, 2017, 08:51:13 PM
Sorry if there was confusion, but we never hold any of your assets. Crabby only makes trades on your behalf through the Poloniex exchange, so you would need to add your assets to your Poloniex account. Once you have created an account on Poloniex you will need to create and set your Poloniex keys in Crabby. For more details, you can follow the link here: http://www.crabby.io/docs. Let us know if you have any trouble setting it up.

We plan on adding more exchanges in the future. Do you have any recommendations for exchanges that you personally use?
260  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Introducing Crabby - The Free Automated Cryptocurreny Trading Application on: November 18, 2017, 07:45:04 PM
We do have experience, however our trading experience isn't relevant because the application is just a tool. Crabby will only buy and sell based on common strategies that you configure so it is up to you to set the configuration appropriately. We aim to add more complex strategies in the future, but that is the current status of the application.

Do you have any features that you would like to see in the application? Constructive criticism and feature requests are very much appreciated.
