Sorry to hear about your troubles mdude - those S4's were an abomination, if they weren't going "POP" then the fans would clap out - so glad I steered clear of them. Hope you get an S3 sorted

just a quick question. is it safe to power the s5 with just 1 connector per blade?
Yeah, just make sure you use the ones nearest the ethernet port So they are like the S3's? No need for all 4 connections unless you'll overclock? Didn't know that. It's not recommended, but I run a couple like that without issues - never tried OCing them though, wouldn't risk it tbh Edit: Good quality gauge wires are essential though.

This is exactly what I've been saying for months now - p2pool just can't scale properly with the increased hash rate, the more the hash rate - the worse the problem. I only point a few old S3's at p2pool now, & then only when the hash is below 2PH - any more than that & it's wasted. It's such a shame, really

I'm so full, I couldn't eat another block........ Well, maybe one more......nom nom
|
|
|
I pointed a few S3's back here when the hash rate dropped back down below 2PH, I hardly lost any shares & the blocks started rolling in again - nice 2PH & below seems to be the sweet spot atm, any higher & it grinds to a halt.......

Pics with username & date would be nice......the usual stuff

I order it .. and send the money through wire transfer .. lets hope :-)
Oh dear. Say bye-bye to that money then....... Yet another noob account for hashcoins

Holy moly - 3.5PH Far too much hash, diff through the roof - sorry guys, I'm off. I'll pop back when it's dropped again I'd like to see us around 4PH/s, 1% of network... Keep variance tolerable. Well, it was ~4PH for most of November last year & it didn't help then. Nothing has changed since then apart from the higher diff, so I can't see 4PH making any difference now either. Same old story I guess......

can you show me a link to a ban page stating 10% bonus?
I just took a look at the "official" 1st page - it does indeed say a 10% bonus: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=854368.0This thread looks to be a "revised" version of the original, with a few "additions".......I laughed

Personally, I'm not a fan of renting hash due to me mainly using p2pool in the past & most of the hash for rent was not p2pool "friendly", although that has changed recently since spondoolies appeared on the scene. However, now that p2pool is not my primary pool, I still find myself avoiding renting hash, for the exact reasons kano has pointed out. To me, there are just too many possibilities of being scammed/misled to warrant doing so. I'm just more comfortable using my own gear in the knowledge that I know that I can change settings at any time to improve the performance of the miner at any given time. Also, I would be much happier & more comfortable knowing that whatever pool I was using at the time was NOT using rented hash, for exactly the same reasons. I'm not saying that renting hash doesn't have it's place in mining, because it does & it certainly serves a purpose to some miners, but it's just not for me. Maybe I'm too untrusting, which is one of the reasons I used p2pool in the first place, but I have not been swindled or scammed once since I started mining - I believe this is because I am very cautious who I mine with & who I trust with my hash power.
Kano, I certainly wouldn't complain if you chose to ban rental hash from your pool, in fact I would welcome it. But wouldn't doing so impact your total hash rate too much?

An Indonesian based mining pool........with a .US domain "Under .US nexus requirements .US domains may be registered only by the following qualified entities: * Any United States citizen or resident, * Any United States entity, such as organizations or corporations, * Any foreign entity or organization with a bona fide presence in the United States To ensure that these requirements are met, Neustar frequently conducts "spot checks" on registrant information. To prevent anonymous registrations that do not meet these requirements, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration has ruled that registrants of .us domains may not secure private domain name registration.[7] Registrants are required to provide complete contact information without omissions." Registrant Contact Information: Name: Surya Susilo Organization: N/A Address 1: Tlatar City: Boyolali State: Jawa Tengah Zip: 57351 Country: ID Phone: +62.081326443221 Email: Email Masking Image@indonesianbacktrack.or.idAs soon as they check it, you'll lose it. I'd consider using a proper .co.id - just in case

I would no longer recommend BAN as a pool.
Completely agree. Dodgy pool run by a scammer. I wouldn't touch BAN with a shitty stick

Indeed, I've had good payouts from my few S3's on p2pool lately - & with most of my hash being at Kano's pool I seem to have the best of both worlds

BITMAIN WILL NOT PAY RANSOM!!!
Good to hear
|
|
|
Yea, its working now only because they took that CloudFlare shit off its about time !
Or just because D D 4 B C realized that he will not earn any money from Chinese brothers And all further D D 4 B C ransom efforts will lead to direct money loss for him How about it D D 4 B C? Or they paid him........

I believe it's cognitive distortion.... P2pool luck is on a par with kano's pool atm, which is where most of my hash is - very impressed with kano's pool & his regular updates & payments . I only point a few S3's at p2pool now, and as long as p2pool hash rate stays below 2PH I'll keep them here, but will pull them if hash rate goes too high. P2pool must be the only pool that performs worse the more hash power it has - a pretty unenviable position to be in for a pool
