421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: September 29, 2014, 02:15:40 PM
These new AntMiner S4 units should really kick ass.

It would be helpful if Bitmain actually answered some of the many questions that prospective buyers have asked, instead of just guessing that they "should" kick ass. For example:

Are they still using the old cgminer version? If so, why?

Where is a link to the firmware?

Are these compatible with p2pool?

Plus the many others on this thread. Bitmain are selectively answering only a few of their customers questions whenever they log on, but ignoring most of them.

Come on Bitmain - let's have some answers & support please!!

Bitmain - instead of logging on to announce another batch sale then logging off again, how about answering some questions? I don't want to buy something not knowing if it will work with p2pool or not, or weather it's running old, security vulnerable software or not.

Why don't you answer any questions!!??

How does that XBTech Pacific 1250 play with p2pool dogie? If it works with p2pool I might be interested - I'm in the UK.

Totally not interested in that VAT nonsense though..... Wink

This week we got word from the Senior Counsel at the SEC.....

Can you say who you got word from at the Senior Council at SEC?  I can't find that particular Council anywhere in the SEC Organisation Chart.

Thanks  Smiley
429  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 23, 2014, 08:26:01 PM
Is there a graceful method of shutting down the p2pool terminal? I haven't been able to find anything for it so I'm simply using Control C ... is there another / better option?

That's as graceful as it gets........you could sing a lullaby  Wink

You don't really want to be turning it off - let it run, & run, & run........
430  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide [12th Sept] on: September 23, 2014, 08:09:21 PM
You should check the definition of hissy fit. That's the kind of tantrum you usually throw.

Hey asshat - what does "fraud and public misrepresentation" mean? I heard some FED guy talking about it........ Cheesy Cheesy
431  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-22] Greenpeace USA Signs Up for Bitcoin Donations on: September 23, 2014, 06:26:39 PM
Greenpeace is happy to accept donation in anything, even in Zimbabwian dollars, I think.  Cheesy

Of course they would, that's how all non-profit donation funded organisations work....... Roll Eyes

And good on them.

It's called "milking it's customers for every BTC they got".

They've been doing it since day one.
433  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitcoinAffiliateNetworks S3 "Giveaway" Promotion Scam to Fake User Accounts.... on: September 22, 2014, 08:08:29 PM
Now that this thread has quietened down since the BANsters decided to leave it alone, what's the deal? Has s0br got back to you at all? Have any of the supposed fake account winners come forward? Should I remove BAN from my failover list...... Cheesy
434  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 20, 2014, 11:08:31 AM
Hey guys,

I was thinking of renting some hash power for my node, so opened an account at miningrigrentals. I asked them via their ticket system if it was possible to make adjustments to the miner on the rented rig either via ssh or a web interface so as to adjust the -queue & diff settings, but they said this was not possible. Shame, as I don't want to rent a rig then watch 10-20% of the hash get wasted with DOA's etc.

I also inquired at Genesis Mining, but they don't allow for choosing which pool to point your hash at.

Does anyone know of a company that allows the renter to make these kind of adjustments and choices?

Thanks  Smiley
435  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BAN fake accounts exposed - admin deleting posts (now locked) on: September 17, 2014, 06:14:46 PM
He has been asked to leave at least one pool thread that I'm aware of at least twice, as well as been reported to moderators by various people I believe. I will not say here which pool he was trolling for BAN, but I'm sure someone can confirm if required.

Might be sticking my neck out here, but I can confirm that fire000 has trolled the p2pool thread on more than one occasion. He has been asked to leave by me & other p2pool users on the thread, as well as reported to moderators for spamming and spreading misleading information:

                                               TROLL ALERT!!!

Can't believe this guy is back again........ignored & reported.

There are other examples on the p2pool thread that can be seen. I for one would not take anything he says too seriously  Wink

Hi .....Really?

Just thought you might like to know - the troll fire000 just got kicked off the p2pool thread again - that's the third time now. Shame he can't have the same treatment here - it would make the thread a whole lot more readable..... Cheesy

I feel for you dude....... Wink
436  Economy / Scam Accusations / fire000 fights the darkness on: September 17, 2014, 05:19:36 PM
This dude has a very strange & unhealthy fixation with p2pool......

He has been on my ignore list since his last explosion of verbal diarrhea here, never have I witnessed such confused rantings...... Roll Eyes

Reported.

Just to avoid any confusion, as I'm sure fire000 will be adding 2 & 2 and making 7 (he's still ignored, but I'm sure he will be) - I have accounts at many pools, including BAN which I used briefly again yesterday, and was in email contact with s0br when he first started the pool - all of which s0br can verify if he feels the urge to speak here - which I believe he should.

Answers like this make most people cut down their coins by 0.001 and risk it. This a community that people are supposed to help one another, and not make it hard for people to find the answers to things. Tongue

Dude.  Answers like what?  I'm trying to help you, seriously. I would hardly call using the search button "hard", it's there for exactly that reason, to help you find answers to questions amongst 100's of pages.....I use it all the time, in fact, I'd be lost without it - it's how I get all my info & how I learn a whole lot more besides.

But OK, I will refrain from trying to help you from now on. Sorry.

If I have 0.02504662 on my P2Pool server and want to send them to other wallet do I only need to subtract 0.001 BTC from it or is the fee higher?

I wish someone would create a bitcoin transfer calculator app or website so people like me can figure it out faster. LOL

Smiley

Don't keep BTC on your pool server, it's a security risk. Mine your coins to a different wallet on a different machine - much safer & saves you having to keep sending small amounts out all the time.

I know this thread is long, but there is a wealth of information here & you will find answers to 99% of your questions if you use the search function  Wink
