I saw that. It's about time

if the pools keep doing poorly, I"m going to go solo instead.
yes, yes it does. otherwise none of the blocks I have shares in will ever finish. lol
sigh. Im afraid I will have to once again reveal my ignorance. What's a block chain explorer?
It's about time I grabbed a new computer, so I thought I'd build one that's a little more mining focused.
the plan so far is
AMD fx-8350 8core 3.5gh cpu 2 radeon 6970 cards w/ xfire coolmax zu-900B power supply 8gb ram.
I've not decided on cooling yet and I have all the drives already.
thoughts?

I think I'll mine for a while longer before selling any. I want to see what the market does with them.
it was first time AND accidental. lol. I'm also pool mining on the same machine.
then I"ll keep throwing everything I have at it:)
there's a first time for everthing. lol

Sorry, I just checked and I've been running it a little over 30 hours. I"ve got a quad core Athlon 2 645 3.1ghz. Trust me, no one was more surprised than I was.

ok. I have what may very well be a bonehead question. I dropped the conf file in my /diamond folder. for grins, I setgenerate true -1 in the client and started mining some other things using cgminer. I come back 12hrs later and have 9 diamonds in my wallet. Was I unknowingly mining solo?
quick question I have 20 coins sitting in uncomfirmed, at what point do they confirm?
ok, cool. it was just an idea I was playing with. Another question, Can you use the DO services to mine for anything else?
ok, out of curiousity. I'f I were to lease one of their 24core, 96gb ram servers for 24hrs($33.85), would there be a point? I don't know how much processing power it takes to find primes at this point, but I'm thinking it might be an interesting experiment.
that's what I"m thinking. downloading ubuntu 13.04 and will swap laptop drives to try it out.
cgminer won't run on my laptop for some reason. I launch it. I get the "cgminer verx.x.x" screen, and then it stops responding
could someone post the pooler's cpuminer string I would use to mine in the jpc.minar.cc pool as well? apparently logical thought fails me today and I can't make the string I try work.
what I think it should be is: minerd -o stratum+tcp://jpc.minar.cc:3335 -u username -p password

I was making some changes to my system. check now.
