381  Economy / Economics / Re: is there any economic effect for the country or bitcoin users on: February 24, 2018, 04:33:37 AM
now there are some countries that began to issue a ban on the use of bitcoin, is there any influence on the country and of course its users in economic value?
The supposedly ban or regulation imposed by some countries on cryptocurrency absolutely affected bitcoin in itself. The said regulation specially on South Korea just make some people on a panic mode. The value of bitcoin depreciate. Absolutely it have some effect on the user of bitcoin and to bitcoin itself.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you selling your altcoins so soon? on: February 24, 2018, 03:47:46 AM
I here and see that a lot of people are selling their altcoins for this reason or for that reason. In some cases I here that people are even spending their altcoins to buy Bitcoin. Now that one really has me confused. To me it's way to early to be selling your altcoins. It's like selling an original painting before it even gains in value or while it is still gaining in value. What smart investor does that unless they are selling out of fear or because they are desperate. For me I am holding all of my coins for now because it is way to early to even think about selling your altcoins; what say you?

So tell me, why are you selling your altscoins so soon?
We have different reasons why we are selling altcoins too soon. We have different perspective and different approach on how play with our altcoins. For me, i sell my coin to buy another coin because i have a feeling that this coin is going to value more in the coming months. It is the way how look at the future of bitcoin and altcoins as a whole.
383  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Requirements too difficult to JR. Members on: February 24, 2018, 03:06:16 AM
So I joined a signature campaign and they removed JR. Member bounties. Now I am having a problem on how to be a Member ranked. I just learned that I need 10 merits to have a member rank. So to any JR. Member here, let's do our best to make quality content so that someone will recognize our efforts in making our community better.

If anyone can provide a link to people giving merits after doing something good or productive please give link so I can earn merits not by asking people but because of my effort and for JR. Members to have a reference too.

Thank you so much. Have a nice day  Smiley
Don't give up merits bro. Just take some time to read and understand why this merit system is being imposed. This is one way of eliminating scammers who post nonsense in this forum. You can earn that merit if you post something that is informative and useful to this forum. Maybe not now but someday you will have it.
384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: February 24, 2018, 12:36:13 AM
I've seen a facebook post about Klay Thompson the first player wearing GSW uniform reached out 10,000 points. I tried to google it but nothing is appearing.
Is that a fake news or a real one? Any source? or that is an outdated one?

Maybe you just misread the information as there are already lots of Golden State Warriors players that reached 10,000 points. And if Im not mistaken Stephen Curry was almost closed to 15,000 mark so it should obvious that Klay Thompson is not the first one to reached 10,000 points in a Warrior jersey. I will do research later once I arrived home. Smiley

Cleveland is a team under construction and in fact lost 110-103 against Washington. Cleveland is likely to lose other positions in his conference.

For me no worries as once playoffs reached, all standing will be 0-0. Sealing up to 4th spot is still a good landing place.

Yes, I am also convinced that at the Playoffs we will see the real Cleveland and the real Lebron James but now from the 3rd to 7th place all the teams are very close and if Cleveland arrives 5th or worse it will start in every match in disadvantage playing the first 2 matches away
No matter what is the standing right now of the cavaliers come play-off time they will always be a team to beat. For sure we will see the Cavaliers playing in the eastern conference Finals. And if they are eliminated in that semi-final playoff that's the last time we could see Lebron on a Cavs uniform.  Smiley Smiley
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware my Filipino friends of Facebook bitcoin groups on: February 24, 2018, 12:05:48 AM
There are a lot of Filipino Facebook groups that scam newbies. I got wary of this issue because one of my friend got scammed because he joined a "pool" but after a lot of promises the one that "pooled" their coins just vanished in an instant.

Please my Filipino friends, beware of FB groups because most of the posts there will just make you lose money.
We must be very vigilant in whatever group we are joining, specially in Facebook because nowadays many people are scamming people. They just want to make easy money and not work hard for it. Whatever group it is or even people directly messaging you and says you will earn more money by this or doing that, most probably it is a scam. Do not reply and just ignore those messages if you got one.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook against bitcoin? on: February 23, 2018, 09:51:43 PM
Because they believe that Facebook prohibits bitcoin and ICos and other cryptocurrency
The new Facebook policy will not allow announcements of known digital currency exchanges or initial offers of currencies.
Is it to avoid fraud or false advertising? That's why?
This news that Facebook will be banning bitcoin and cryptocurrency related ads are going now for months but i could still see some ICO advertisements in my Facebook newsfeed. I think the said ban is not effective.
387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: February 23, 2018, 08:43:16 PM
great performance in the night for S.Curry with 44 points 6 rebounds and 10 assists and an incredible 8/11 by 3 points. Golden state won against the tough Los Angeles Clippers 134-127.

Oklahoma won against Sacramento 110-107 with the usual triple-double of Westbrook (18th in this season).
Oklahoma is fighting for third place!

Cleveland is a team under construction and in fact lost 110-103 against Washington. Cleveland is likely to lose other positions in his conference.
Another spectacle night by Stephen Curry but it is not a blow out loss by The Clippers anyway. For sure going into the playoffs, Golden State Warriors will need to ride the momentum of their Big 4 specially Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. GSW fan here.  Smiley
Yes for sure it is a big game for Steph considering they are coming from a lose in the all-star game against Lebron. He may have to put those memories behind and start focus their attention of the coming playoffs.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency? on: February 23, 2018, 02:18:23 PM

A few countries and central banks have been talking about “digital currency”, and most of them are carefully ignoring the term “crypto”. Fact is- digital currency is not the same as cryptocurrency. These countries/central banks are recognizing the benefits of the digital currency features of cryptocurrency, but they don’t want any of the decentralized uncertainties that come with blockchain-based currencies.
Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency?

For now i don't think so that they will create their own cryptocurrency. They are keen on adapting or utilizing the blockchain technology for their payment system. Maybe in future if they can see that it is advantageous on their part to use their own cryptocurrency.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: February 22, 2018, 01:47:36 PM
I've discovered Bitcoin few days ago, but I am skeptical about few things, why would I invest money in Bitcoins at the end of the day,why would I convert money into Bitcoins?

If I want to buy stocks or invest money I can easily invest with real $. Why would I convert my $ to bitcoins?
If I want to gamble , I can simply gamble on websites that require $ as currency, why would I convert it to bitcoins?
What's the difference between Bitcoins and dolars? What does bitcoin bring to the table that real $ don't, less taxes, more income?

There are a lot of differences between a bitcoin and real money. One of them is bitcoin is decentralized while real money is centralized. Bitcoin is volatile and it's value changes from time to time while real money is not.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: February 22, 2018, 12:51:58 PM
ripple is a long term project, they have made done so much patnership already and the results will start yielding in the long run. don't expect much in the short or mid term
Agree with you bro that Ripple's team is working very hard on their project and we could see the fruit of their labor in the long run. There are now many banks that are utilizing Ripple's platform so i think XRP will appreciate in the near future. I have some of this coin and i am planning to hold at least for a year.
391  Other / Meta / Re: Giving merits to an OLD post or thread is legal or illegal? on: February 21, 2018, 01:34:42 PM
Hello everyone,

giving merits to an old post or thread is legal or illegal?

That means this merit system arrives recently but some people are giving merits to there alt accounts which they created a thread before this merits system exists.

I want a legit answer.

as soon as I get the answer I will lock this thread

thank you.
I do think that it is legal to give merits to old post because the administrator of this forum does not indicate that we can't give merits to it. Plain and simple logic would apply to this one, no law no violation.
392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Am I late ? on: February 21, 2018, 10:51:33 AM
I decide to buy 2 bitcoins with in this week.. Its valuable ? Am I late ? Waiting for your replies ?
This is no such thing as late in the cryptocurrency world. The price of bitcoin now may not be the price it will be tomorrow. It could be higher or lower than today, that is volatility. But better before you jump right off, you better have a very good understanding of what you are into.

394  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where are you trading? on: February 17, 2018, 04:11:20 PM
I am interested in trading lesser known Cryptos, XRP, XEM, DIM, etc. I wonder what exchange you guys are using? I will be in and out trading on momentum. I love the charts Hitbtc has. And they have a large number of Crytos available, and they seem to have a lot of activity, but it seems everyone is always complaining about not getting their purchase credited, etc. To go in and out the purchase needs to go into the account instantly so it can be sold.

I have Bitcoin and Litecoin to deposit, just not sure if I want to go into Hitbtc? If anyone is trading at Hitbtc, would love to hear about it. There is no phone to talk to anyone there. Any insight / experience on Hitbtc, or other references for other exchange options is greatly appreciated.
I have register only in one exchange and that is binance. I am practicing to trade there and it is going well for me. I have not encountered any problem except those days that they upgrade their system.
395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Die Because of China? on: February 17, 2018, 03:43:54 PM

I guess the best answer to that question is of course a BIG NO! Granted, China is a big contributor for the rise and adoption of Bitcoin and they are primarily the country involved with Bitcoin mining due to very cheap electricity cost.

Now, the Chinese government has its own agenda and I think in the long run Bitcoin can be running against those agenda so they are now thinking of slowly disengaging and disconnecting their citizens away from the cryptocurrency platform.

I know that whatever China will decide on the impact can be heavy on the market and this is shown with the recent decision banning the ICO projects and the unconfirmed total ban of Bitcoin exchanges though it is still a rumor and nobody would want to confirm.

Can cryptocurrency still go on and have a very optimistic future even without China as part of the equation?

I think cryptocurrency can still go on even without China. China's involvement in cryptocurrency right now is in the mining side and those companies that are engaged in mining bitcoin are moving out of China. There is maybe a little effect of China banning Crypto but it is not fatal to the entire cryptosphere. Life in cryptocurrency can still go on without China. China is not even in the top three countries who are a major player in cryptocurrency.
396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: please help me seriously to leave gambling ???? on: February 17, 2018, 03:05:19 PM
Today i realised i am in huge huge trouble due to gambling...i just kept loosing amount in gambling quickly...decided many times to leave gambling but never happened....today i counted that i have lost almost 10 bitcoins in gambling in last 1-2 years and the amount i loose is going to keep on increasing...
i just tried to do every thing but nothing is quiet working...what ever i earn i dont know what to do with them and in some time i loose them again...
i am realising i am in big trouble, already in huge loss what to do... Embarrassed
In gambling, you will always lose more than your winnings. You got to believe me on this because i experience that one. If you gamble for fun with your extra money then nothing is wrong with it because it is your money. But it you starting to borrow money for gambling that would be totally wrong. You are now a compulsive gambler and you can't sleep if you can't gamble. My advise is to consult a doctor and heed for his advise.
397  Economy / Economics / Re: How to TAX Bitcoin. An easy way ! on: February 17, 2018, 02:25:36 PM
In my country, I have to fill a form every year for the tax department, including my year end bank statement and the salary bill.
Together with some major bills for insurance and healthcare, that's all they get.

So I can hide cash under the bed, or have an overseas account, or have some Gold bars, etc. The goverment has to thrust me quite a bit.
They can check some transfers, but if you like to hide it, you can do it.

So the actual way of getting the real numbers is quite bad.

In Bitcoin
If the Tax department makes it a rule by law, that you have to report every BTC address you own, or every wallet you own ...

All problems solved, because then the Department has also the addresses of the petrol station and the deli you spend money.
In no time the system knows which tax counts here and can claim the respective amount from both sides.

Sure it is still possible to hide Bitcoins, but then it is illegal.

...or did I miss something?
Here in my country we have to register if we want to have an online wallet that can convert local currency to bitcoin or vice versa. In the registration process we have to submit government issued identification card. So, if the government want to tax the money that we had on our online wallet, it is just very easy. All they had to do is coordinate with the owner of the online wallet to get our identity.
398  Economy / Economics / Re: ICO statistics wanted on: February 17, 2018, 01:51:48 PM
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to collect statistics the past ICO and I wanted to know what is your average investment in ICO. I do not mean specific projects, I'm only interested in the scatter of numbers. In the long term, I would like to compile a complete picture of the range of investment in projects and understand the principles by which people decide to invest and how much.
I consider myself as a newbie in this trade. I read and try to understand the process here for 1 month before i have a little knowledge about ICOs. To be honest i just jump into an ICO because of hype. I invested 1 Ether because that is all i can afford. Right now i am holding the coin because the value just dropped.
399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin has hit its peak? on: February 17, 2018, 10:46:07 AM
Hey all, I was just wondering your opinions on whether bitcoin has hit its peak already at around $20,000 or if you think it will break even higher in the future? I know there’s been bitcoin retraces of up to 80% before before it has risen a load again but I’m not sure that bitcoin hasn’t got the functionality that the price suggests.
That is a very hard question. We can say that the all time high is $20k for now. We can't say that it is already it's peak because the game is not yet over. Many things will happen in the future and this could include the rising of bitcoin value.
400  Economy / Economics / Re: Why I am quitting ICO's on: February 17, 2018, 09:45:16 AM
Interesting point of view. I encounter the same situation with yours although i invested in one ICO and spend only 1 ether. I bought on almost the last day and no more bonus. And when it hit the exchange the price dropped to almost 50 percent. My plan is to hold this coins to avoid further loses.
