102  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3600 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: March 09, 2012, 01:29:29 PM
hey all, i've been on deepbit for a few weeks with my 6970 and i'm quite happy with it all, but i do have two questions, first what's the purpose of the teams? Second, there is a persistent difference between my MHash as displayed on my miner (412-414MH) and as displayed on the my account page on deepbit (473MH calculated over 5min) anyone know which is the true figure? I'm guessing the miner is accurate, but I'd love to know for sure.

Oh and before you ask there's only one worker active.

Thanks

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / free litecoin over on btc-e on: November 17, 2011, 02:28:34 AM
Hey all, something really strange is happening.
for the last hour or so, every ltc address(to the limit of one per client) that is written on the btc-e chatroom starts recieving spam 0.00000001 ltc payments to the tune of 10-12/minute.

While i'm all for free money, I can't help but wonder if this sudden appearance of 'free' money isn't going to drive the price down, and while we're at it, who is sending it, and why?

food for thought

107  Other / Meta / Add categories within the alt currencies board. on: November 14, 2011, 12:35:26 AM
Hello

With all the recent *coins getting released, the alt currencies sub board is a bleeding mess of oversized threads. Could we have categories for the various types of coins? It would make data retrieval a lot easier, thanks.

I've used this service and was happy with it but yesterday, I got a non working code. let pharaon know by pm, got no reply.
until further contact from him, I have to declare this a scam.

Pharaon followed up, got me a working code after a few tries and generally gave very good customer support. I guess there's no reason to call this a scam
109  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Wine Shop! on: October 26, 2011, 04:19:00 PM
ok so here goes

it legal to send wine to a private person over the age of 21 in the USA if (a) the value of the shipment is less than 2000 USD, (b) a prior notice form is filled and given to US customs, (c) all relevant excise and custom duties are paid (d) the wine is not carried by USPS.

Since here in france wine is considered to be a basic human right (joke.. almost) our postal service has set up a system with a private carrier in the US where they take care of the paperwork and formalities for us.

I'm going to pop into my local post office later on this week and get a proper rundown as to the formalities and what the costs are but it does appear to be possible.

So I'll be putting up some menus and prices and as mentioned before, if you are looking for a particular vintage, just let me know.

this is a link to a pdf set up by the french postal service explaining export rules throughout the world for wine, sorry but it's in french.

What does "ownership" mean to you?

Means you can kill it without fear of retribution
111  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Wine Shop! on: October 26, 2011, 02:56:06 PM
I'd love it, but I'm in the US and shipping liquids here, especially alcoholic, seems to be an issue
While technically illegal (and counted as smuggling) from what I've seen if I mark it as a sample or a gift it should be fine. Watch this space, I'll try to find some source as to how to do this properly.
112  Economy / Marketplace / Wine Shop! on: October 25, 2011, 08:44:14 PM
Hello

I live in Paris and was wondering if people would be interested in getting great french wines for cheap, for bitcoins of course. I thought I'd ask to gauge interest, if some people are interested, I can post a menu or source a particular vintage if you want something specific.

Let me know

113  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Using Bitcoins as currency in a virtual world. on: October 24, 2011, 12:34:39 AM
Yes, please do.

Don't worry about small transaction saturating the network, unless you're planning on a billion mBTC transactions/minute I think the network will be fine.

Anyone with more technical experience care to weigh in?

I would love to invite the CIA or FBI to debate bitcoin!

Err no, however I would love to have an open panel discussion with some central bankers
