281  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan of 20BTC? on: August 06, 2012, 12:08:42 PM
wow, I feel scammers are either getting lazy and imitating each other, or we are dealing with a guy that makes lots of alts trying to scam.
282  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking For a Loan 25 Btc on: August 06, 2012, 02:55:17 AM
You will have to give personal info to the lenders in the forum, as you're less than a day old here. And your website looks way too cheap, like a slightly modified template. If you can give personal info(including shoe-in-head) then try to get a loan(I'll doubt you will get one). If not, obvious scammer is obvious.
283  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] 5970 on: August 04, 2012, 12:33:14 AM

Thanks for hijacking. Anyways, I don't want water cooled ones, just stock/aftermarket HSF.

Your welcome.

I have two 5970 with Accelero XTREME 5970 fans.  Do you have a price range?

I'm not willing to go above 350$, the cheaper the better.

I think you'll find plenty of ppl willing to sell at $350, those aftermarket fans add about $35 value if you're into that.

If you'd buy all three, I'd sell you my 3 5970's with danger den waterblocks for $1050.  don't have original heat sink or fan anymore, though

I'm just looking for best MH/$ relation, as I don't overclock, and watercooling needs too much investment from my side, as I don't have any parts for it, and finding them in Venezuela will be very hard. So I'm looking for a cheap and 100% stable card. Thanks anyways

Hey, just a suggestion, it would be nice to create an armory wallet watcher for Android.
285  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking 300 BTC Loan on: August 03, 2012, 11:13:10 AM
Loan is now frozen at 326.4. I will not charge any further interest.

First repayment of 14.35 has come in. Remaining debt is now 326.4 - 14.35 = 312.05 BTC

Jake is communicating well and is determined to pay off his debt. I will continue to update as the debt is paid off.

That's a nice thing for you to do, maybe I'm an usurer Tongue

Hi. I want to buy a 5970. I'm looking for offers, shipped, to 33166. Will be paid in BTC fully.

Thanks in advance.
289  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking 300 BTC Loan on: August 02, 2012, 09:31:54 PM
I predicted this one!

He probably isn't a scammer, think about it, unless he is doing any other kind of transaction with that user in this forum, he would just stop replying to PMs.

Unless he hasn't done any payments, in that case he's probably a scammer.
290  Economy / Lending / Re: [Filled] Requesting 1.77 BTC to top off an important purchase. on: August 02, 2012, 06:45:28 PM
This is either a sockpuppet or a scam.

Meh, I won't lend to anyone of them.
291  Economy / Lending / Re: [Filled] Requesting 1.77 BTC to top off an important purchase. on: August 02, 2012, 05:27:33 PM
Sorry, allow me to clarify.  I see one of two scenarios playing out here:

1. You'll never see your coins again and LDB will disappear from the boards forever. <--This will most likely happen

or

2. The coins will be paid back on time, possibly with more interest than originally stated.  In such case what's most likely going on is that you're a sock puppet of LDB and you're circle jerking yourself in order to build rep for an even bigger scam later on down the road.

So by "HAHA!" I mean go take a hike.

That's better, I can communicate with explanations like this, Whilst i'm not a major lender, I have no intention on muscleing in on established lenders ground, (starfish/kluge/hashking/IBB..etc) I do quite a bit of small loans (normally anonymously), and had very good results, Whilst I bow down to people who are better scam detectors than me, And I usually listen for replys first before makeing my move, I beleive the risk is mine to take, And in this case I think about £8 is not greater than this persons will to establish themselves.

Edit - I diddn't actually address point 2, Well yes this is allways a thought, But there are many big lenders/loaners going on, All probably started from a low level, I really think if its risky, Ask the right questions, Get your proof, If your not happy with replys, don't lend!

Thanks for ignoring me  Wink

$250 shipped? no, lol

It was just an offer, just answer me the questions I asked, and give me an asking price, shipped. Then we can try to negotiate, if you want. I didn't express myself correctly.

What brand is the 6990?

gigabyte i think its a referance

Shipped from USA?. I'm interested in your 5970. Fan spinning well?. Time of use?. Overvolted/Overclocked?.

Are you looking to get around 250$ shipped, a bit more maybe depending of it's state.
296  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 4 dead PSUs, there HAS to be a commonly failing component on: August 01, 2012, 02:32:18 AM
Get an online UPS if you're paranoid. How did those PSUs die?. Open them up(properly discharging capacitors, I'm not responsible for death) and use your nose to try to localize a burnt component. Normally when I repair PSUs I see capacitor failures, normally that's the only thing connecting PSUs, hot environments reduce capacitors lifespan, and some Antec PSUs are known to have bad capacitors.

298  Economy / Lending / Re: BTC investments listed on eBay now? on: July 31, 2012, 09:08:39 PM
He probably invests with pirate, so if he defaults people will probably want their funds back, so he only needs to refund 60% of the investment. Win-win for him.
299  Economy / Lending / Re: Help Want to Lend 22BTC will pay asap on: July 27, 2012, 11:04:37 AM
What some people are talking about is that in English when you get money from Joe (the loan is from Joe to you) then you say "I borrowed money from Joe"  but if you give money to Joe (the loan is from you to Joe) you say "I lent money to Joe".

In other words, in English you borrow money from someone but you lend money to someone.

Many people who are not native English speakers make this mistake.

So the title of your thead should be changed to:  "I would like to borrow 22BTC, will pay back ASAP"
fixed for a better grammar

What surprises me is that you think someone's going to lend to you, considering you registered on july 20 2012.
300  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [IDEA] Connect active PFC PSU to 208V. on: July 26, 2012, 09:46:37 PM
Yup, that's correct. If you are interested, I'm selling a custom power strip that I built for that purpose over here at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92925.0

I'd love to buy it, but shipping would be extremely expensive to Venezuela. I'll have to use normal NEMA 5-15 plugs, but I'll paint the receptacles red and place a warning, people here can be extremely stupid with electricity and I don't want to waste two wires and purchase even more receptacles.

Thanks for your reply
No problem, be sure to wrap the neutral wire in black tape to indicate that it is hot.

Thanks again, I did the installation, works perfectly, and the wires don't become warm anymore. I definitely love active PFC.
