I though the rule was minimum 0.0001 BTC for 1000 bytes transaction is good fee. i paid 0.0002 BTC for 600 bytes tx.Still took 9 hours to get confirmed.it's kinda wierd.
That's no longer the standard fee. There's much more transactions made per day now and blocks are getting full. So to get your transaction included in a block you'll need to bump up the priority by increasing the fee.

My Bitcoins is return to my blockchain wallet. But i unable to send bitcoins. 'no free outputs to spend'
If 15JiMMGkpjULDRGf6VhQjo39SU7XfdhxKR or/and 185qrf36waLTFi6T9XdSnxWwGzi2seeDvA are your addresses then your wallet might be trying to spend from the invalid transaction posted above. Try sending amounts less than your total balance minus 3.5834 if you are sending from 15JiMMGkpjULDRGf6VhQjo39SU7XfdhxKR or 0.84795265 if 185qrf36waLTFi6T9XdSnxWwGzi2seeDvA or 4.43135265 if you send from both.

I'm using electrum desktop client on a MAC os-x platform. and the broker that sent it is coinloft. Yeah i figured if it has gone through in the blockchain that it would be in my wallet but its still empty.
Is that address listed in your addresses list? Try going to console and enter listunspent() and see if you have that transaction listed.

I have experienced this before, and the block count is usually the next block mined after I made the transaction...
And 25000 satoshi for your 1698 byte transaction... This was higher than the average tx price back in 2015 but it is low for now (where almost every block is full and everyone is paying higher fees)... I'd recommend 1mBTC for this transaction which will make it confirm within 2 blocks after broadcasting it... It is just a ~0.4% fee for your volume, still much cheaper than traditional money transfers.
This was not a tx where I could set the fee myself...its BTC being sent to me That won't change the fact that the required fee to get fast confirmation is much higher than 14 satoshi per byte. The recommended fee is 90-100 satoshi per byte (that's around 0.0015-0.0017 for 1698 bytes transaction) right now so your transaction might take quite a long time to get confirmed. You have few options. You can wait, try CPFP by sending the bitcoins from that transaction with higher fee (0.002 should be enough if your transaction only use 1-2 input and output), or contact a miner and ask them to include your transaction in their block (try Quickseller or macbook-air).

Some of the people on here are really great. Others not so much here is my problem. I purchased an item from a member and received nothing. can not leave a reply or anything for that member. His thread is locked. He continues to have his thread up and selling. How is it that nobody takes it down to stop others from getting ripped off. once he received money no more communication. Contacted him through another way and answered right away but when he realized it was me asking for what I paid for no more communications. How do you continue to allow him to sell.
He is:

Open a scam accusation against that user in this section using this format. Unfortunately scams are not moderated so no one will get banned for scamming. We do have some users that tries to stop others from getting ripped off but there's only so much that normal users' warning can do. Some would even ignore the warnings.

Hello Im back (Neighbours kid is crying, i cant sleep) This transaction is still not confirmed, do you know why? https://blockchain.info/tx/c130ee9bb0dee0188eeadb2c870b118ee8669473d266db5ee738684b39ea9db9 Looks like it already have 3 confirmations. The reason it took long is because your fee was lower than recommended. You're using 0.0005btc/kb fee (50 satoshi per byte) and the recommended fee according to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ is 0.001btc/kb (100 satoshi per byte). The fee required to get a fast confirmation depends on your transaction's size, btw. Don't hear anyone telling you otherwise. Edit: I just noticed your post above about using dynamic fees. Is that transaction using dynamic fee? If so you should set it higher if possible.

Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to calculate the fees in electrum?
|
on: December 15, 2016, 10:09:13 PM

I sent $40 to some address and it's been 8+ hours and still no confirmation, so I don't know what to do. When I was about to send the payment, electrum's slider was on far left, meaning the smallest fees and "within 25 blocks", but seems like it takes forever instead. I saw https://bitcoinfees.21.co/, but there isn't BTC/kB which is present in Electrum client, so I don't know how to calculate the optimal fee in order not to get stuck like now. From what I've seen on website, there is BTC per byte. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1712036.msg17165327#msg1716532710 satoshi is 0.00000010 and 1 KB is roughly 1000 bytes. Just multiply the recommended amount you get from https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ by 1000. So if it's 50 satoshi per byte it's 0.0005/KB, 90 satoshi per byte is 0.0009/kb, and so on.

Well it looks like you sent the old one just a hour ago so it's not a surprise that many nodes still have it. A node will only start dropping a tx after 24 - 72 hours unless a double spend tx got confirmed. The new transaction have a high enough fee though so it may confirm in few hours (probably sooner). What about the first one, though?
The conflicting transaction will be dropped once the other transaction get a confirmation. It can either be the first or the second.

TXID would help. It's likely that your first transaction is still present in many nodes' mempool, so it wasn't relayed through the network successfully. You'll just need to wait until most nodes drops the first transaction.
And don't make 4 posts in a row. Use the edit button.

Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to know the size of transaction before you send using electrum?
|
on: December 12, 2016, 11:52:51 PM

There's no way to do it in electrum I'm afraid. Which is why we're suggesting alternative ways. You can already put a manual fee per KB from Tools > Preferences. 10 satoshi/byte is 0.0001/KB, 50s/b is 0.0005/kb, etc.
You can also use it to calculate the size of your tx by dividing the recommended fee by your fee per KB and multiply it by 1000. So if you get recommended 0.000113 and your fee per kb is 0.0005 that's 0.000113/0.0005*1000 = 226 bytes transaction. I don't think there's an easier way to calculate it.
This one is for setting or manually change the fee but i am looking for a way that before you send you can see first the transaction size before you send.. You don't need to send to see the recommended fee.

Hi guys i would like to ask if how we can know the size of transaction before we send bitcoin to the target address. so that i can put my manual fee for better speed of my transaction.. i notice sometimes my transaction with the same amount but different size that actually it takes time before its confirm.. So i am looking how to know it but i could not find it.
I have an idea. Use the preview option on the send tab. Sign the tx. Then use the copy option to copy the hex code. What next? Is the hex code saved to an ascii text file going to use the same amount of space as on the blockchain? i'm not sure but maybe this will get you half way there. Well 1 hex = 4 bits and 4 bits = 0.5 byte so just dividing the number of hex character by 2 should get you the size. Or since it's already signed you can just decode from https://coinb.in/decode-raw-transaction.html.

Should I have chosen something other than the default wallet? Something with better encryption?
If you mean the default_wallet file then no. It's the same as any other wallet file you'll create in electrum. If you set a password for it the file will be encrypted. If you think your money was stolen then make sure your PC is free of virus. And create an entirely new wallet and stop using the older ones.
