1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PinIdea.io x11 asics on: March 01, 2017, 05:19:04 PM
true, they make one after you pay them. Would recomended Baikal over it, any time in a day.

they dont make them after you have bought them, they are just  flat out sold out
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PinIdea.io x11 asics on: March 01, 2017, 09:37:59 AM
move to baikal, stray away from the dark side of x11

Have you used any pinidea gear? I think there are pros and cons to both companies, they each fill a different niche in the mining community.

So far I've had the opportunity to try both the du1 and the dr3 and have mostly good things to say about my experiences.

I'll write out a proper comparison and maybe even some guides once I'm able to get my hands on a few mini's.

 i have never tried the dr3, i have tried dr1 and du1

i like baikal multi algo, and at least they have products in stock Cheesy

I wonder if the dr3 could be patched for multi-algo or even a nicehash/multialgo setup so you can get the best of both worlds. It has a built in controller and an update-able OS

Having products available is definitely one of the pro's, a pipe dream would have me comparing the baikal mega and the dr3 but that's a few months away at least.

The real downside of the du1 is not it's price, but the minimum order size. I think they'd sell like hotcakes if you could buy 1 at a time. Ton's of folks could run a single usb du1 but 5 of them require additional infrastructure, like buying hubs that aren't properly built for the power draw. Plus half a bitcoin could almost get you 2 baikal mini's.

Lowering the initial buy-in cost allows more people to get involved.

Let me know if you ever want to sell your pinidea hardware maybe we could work something out.

products are never in stock at pinidea

They guy that Innosillicon decided to go with improving the source code is called Nowayz on this forum btw

I have never received any word back from Innosillicon regarding my proposal to them, not even after a reminder email with a modified proposal Undecided

jump  to baikal mmmmmmmm yummy

Here is the paperclip trick.  It is pretty simple, and you don't need to go crazy taping it up like this guy did.  Your simply closing the circuit so that the PSU thinks the mobo is connected.

http://aphnetworks.com/tutorials/psu_paperclip_trick

you can also buy jumpers for PSU theyre cheap

Grin True, just not as cheap as a paperclip! LOL

lol too true... all about the ROI

I am seeing people on the forum that have purchased from this joker.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE

1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: February 28, 2017, 06:10:01 PM
I bought a few Giants directly from Baikal. Excellent customer service, fast shipping. The miners are running great!

I had bought a Baikal from Asicminermarket earlier and that one stopped working, none of the LED's light up. It looks a little different than the ones I got directly from Baikal. Right now I am not sure where to get support on that one.

asicminermarket is a scam site, stay the fuck away from that

-snip-
although this unit seems to almost be a hybrid ASIC/FPGA
-snip-
It is actually a FPGA, it was proven when they released the multi-algo firmware. I wonder if some X11-Gost firmware would be possible... Cool

-snip-
I have already been very impressed with Baikal customer service
-snip-
I agree 100%, and by reading past comments/feedback they are for sure very interested in the image they make for themselves.
They have excellent client service, even when Chinese New Year was on.

Enjoy your unit, I'm certainly happy with their products.

yay happy customers
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: February 27, 2017, 08:34:54 AM
Wut!!! Someone sold mini's at 150? Instead of 300. I only knew 300$ with 10% discount.

I could be wrong..but I seem to remember the page saying 150 usd at one time and I was very tempted..perhaps it was an error....but 90%
sure I looked at that price for a long time on that page...but alas..did not jump into the pool...ran away (coward that I am..) Sad

i dont think so
1272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone want to do a Baikal Groupbuy? on: February 26, 2017, 08:09:23 PM
Guys how is it with selling asics? I got into GPU mining since you can always sell equipment for a good price and therefore there is almost no risk to mining, but with asic? If I dont ROI, is there a chance to sell it?

sell it before the profit get too low, usually in 6 months maximum

bad advice, these things are on plan to ROI
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acquired Old Hardware - WAT DO? on: February 26, 2017, 08:09:49 AM
Well it's a good thing I like pretty green lights!

Does anyone have anything arguably more productive than playing BTC lotto with these USB Erupters?

Maybe someday someone will make AssCoin™ or CryptoPeso™ and I can mine those  Cheesy

currently bitcoin is the most profitable sha256 coin to mine
if you mine other coins you will get even less
1274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal, Panda or rig?? on: February 26, 2017, 07:43:26 AM

I am anti asic  for alt coins.  the Baikal  could sell at 1000 and the builder could turn a profit. so you could face a loss if the builder decides selling lots of them is his best move.

In general I think Baikal should be one of few ASICs if one will decide to build the mining operations. It is multi-algo, absolutely reliable build (not Antminer R4!) and very good reselling capacity.

baikal units are not like normal asics, multi asic is yum AF

the only thing worth mining with them is x11 though they cant do eth or blake or pascal etc or even zec

quark and qubit are algood too
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Third alt coin thread last two were too big. Builds links thoughts etc on: February 26, 2017, 07:38:24 AM
Hey guys... are any of you using or looked into the Baikal Mini miner?  With the recent skyrocketing of Dash price, seems like a good investment to get a few of these as the ROI period at current rates is less than 3 months.  Any ideas about this or first hand experiences in regard to reliability of these units?  Also, have you ordered directly from Baikal?  They seem to have the lowest price at $300 but not sure about shipping.

One of the guys in my group is a big DASH supporter. And he has invested in several models of Baikal miners. I have 2 racks of his ASICs in my warehouse which I help him host the gear. Singles 150Mhs. Quads 600Mhs. Giant 900MHs (this miner is a champ and only eats only 200watts - you can attached 5 of these with one 1300 PSU).

Total hashpower 25GHs currently pulling about 300$-400$ per day. There was a period where daily-takings is double if you sell the hash to NH because some jokers paid premium to eat-up the entire X11 hash supply in US and Europe. I smell a P&P.

However, without going into P&P speculations, as long as we get paid more per submitted hash over normal PPS -- no worries. His entire 25Ghs worth of gear takes about 8 months ROI according to him -- he is about just over halfway to ROI minus expenses etc. He said he is lucky to have bought them at the right time because of the massive surge of DASH and X11 coins (Baikal's X11 miners can also do multi algo and auto-swicth, X13, X14, X15, Quark and Qubit algos).

Note: I asked him about what if X11 is no longer profitable and he is stuck with the ASICs... his reply, convert it into a large global node for DASH and collect tx fees. I kind of agree with him because DASH is one of the 3 grand daddies of crypto (BTC, DASH and LTC)... and it survived just like BTC. Like Phil's says.... BTC needs the other stronger coins in the crypto super highway.

+1 this, baikal giants are legit, let me know if yall need any Tongue

startcoin

Thx for sharing but I would consider Startcoin to be on the lower end of the profit scale. There are other Alt's that can yield higher returns....It's a never ending constant thing of testing and trying out...

adz coin

1279  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / i had .2btc in my wallet, sent but never recieved (and not on blockchain) on: February 23, 2017, 08:02:41 PM
ok guys this has never happened to me before and it would be great if someone could shed some light.

multibit displayed .2btc
this address: 1MdH5FeZa3oFcMLzbsGEkhmPjxjK1hsvGB

I then sent it to
this address: 1B3GN2WRQ6LBk9PcuZxoXevhty8sTgVrxn

the transaction was displayed on multibit with a triangle, when i clicked view on blockchain it would say transaction not found

since i have "reset the blockchain" on multibit and now the transaction has completely disappeared

now I am wondering what the hell is going on

for the record I own both addresses but am scratching my head here

is it possible that multibit displayed an amount that was a bug/false Huh? seriously wtf???
