I thought the fee is 0.9% which is 0.009? Or is the fee 9%? The reason I ask is 1 - 0.009 = 0.991, but the above formula lists 0.91 which suggests a 9% fee unless I am missing something?
100% right. Will fix

Edit: December was zero fee (and November was 1/3 zero fee) Oh yes. I forgot - Kano worked for free in December

At least i got the reward... I got 0.02132694 BTC for 6 days. If I used btc.com I would get 0.1 for this time. So, what is the advantage? Try this and compare to other pools (it makes some assumptions but also that you are fully ramped up for the 2 months): January (to date): Your BTC= 0.991*8*12.5*1.3204*(your hasing power in TH/s) / (31980) December: Your BTC= 0.991*10*12.5*1.2911*(your hasing power in TH/s) / (26210) Will be interesting to see how it compares. Edit: History is no guarantee of future Edit 1: Kano worked for free in December 0% fee. Edit 2: I cant do math 0.9% fee corrected

Please no unnecessary chatting and dancing on the forum... my miners are concentrating.

Is there a bonus for finding the block? Oh yes! Everyone praise you and think you are the sht Oh and there is a list of block finders to make you feel special.

A guess but My N Avg=12.05THs my BTC from that one block was 0.00611453, I am still ramping up started mining on the 31st my s9 will be ramped upon the next block
Yes, there is the ramping up... but also the ramping down. So if one leave today you will still get your BTC share even if not mining. No benefit in hopping in and out of the pool. Which is the objective of the PPLNS (5d) Mine on!

Question to anyone with an S9 on Kano Pool: how much reward do you normally get for a block? Looking back over the history of the pool, it has gone up to 8 days without finding a block. Is the reward on par with the other pools in that timeframe?
There are 100s of posts asking the same question. If you go back about 25 pages and start reading you will find many case studies. Additionally, if the rewards were not on par with other pools do you think that we would be mining here? There is a reason we do. Unless of course we are morons and that could very well be the case. You can't see the forest through the trees. This is about the average over time. One week to the next has a lot of variance. Over time the variance flattens out and you will see that you will make more here than on pools such as slush and antpoo. ....agree. You can also try the below as an estimate to get an idea of the past if you were mining -> Take a month for instance - Your coin = 0.91*(total pool coin for month)*(your hash rate)/(pool hash rate) Obviously it works on blocks found, shares submitted and hash rate varies but it is an estimate. Edit: Also the more hashing power we have the more blocks we should find, more payments but smaller shares per miner.

I think this block will be a little longer because the last ones where so short.
How often are payments made?
The steps: 1) We find a block (everyone dance) 2) The block mature at 101 ( you can see on kano.is the progress) 3) Kano create a transaction of payouts to everyone and attach a small fee. He send the transaction to the network. 4) If someone confirm the transaction with the small fee then it will be in your wallet, if not (usually not), then with the next block Kanopool find we confirm the transactions that was sent to the network and everyone has more BTC in their wallets. Note- It happens that there can be 2 or more transactions waiting to be confirmed and confirmed with our next block found.

Dang, BTC has taken a few hits last few days. I'd buy some, but it just keeps dropping.
Yes, a major correction was coming. Lets see where it turns, will come out stronger

you are 100% in asking the question and difficulty change play a big part in this. The thing I am taking into consideration - for the difficulty to increase by 10% or 20% per month the network has to add that % hashing power. Now with an estimated 16-17Eh in the network... calculate the number of S9s needed to do that. It will plato imo but continue going up. How much ? Who knows.
edit: also keep in mind that other SHA-256 coins take some of the hashing produced.
That's a fair point. However, I wonder if the hashing power won't grow at that rate or even higher. With all of the ASICs in the market and more powerful and plentiful ones coming, it isn't hard to imagine the network growing exponentially. Well, that is the question. You think Bitmain+others can produce 20% per month? - ~252 000 miners a month and keep going....(302 000... 363 400.... 435 200... ) ? As a side-note: Electrical requirement rough (at 1.3kW/miner) : 327MW...393MW...471MW...565MW. 500MW is about 2.2 million PV Panels.... every month

You are assuming the price of Bitcoin is going to stay forever at today's price?
It seems less about the price and more about the difficulty. If you click on the chart and change it to "coins generated" and look at it over 24 months, it basically shows that you will be generating next to nothing by month 12. you are 100% in asking the question and difficulty change play a big part in this. the four biggest factors are the -difficulty increase rate, -electricity cost, - $/TH cost, -Bitcoin price change. Only one you can control is electrical cost, so if yours is lower than most then you should outlast most. The others you have to take a longterm guess in my view.

Greetings everyone. I am added 4 s9 miners in at the beginning of the month. And have been loving this lucky streak. I have capacity to add to about 10 more s9 miners. But am having a hard time getting my hands on them for a decent price. Does anyone have a good source? Or does anyone have more machines than they have capacity for.
Mine on. Great pool & community.
Hi, I have 5x S9 coming ~21Feb that is looking for a electrical feed. At the moment there is interest but will make contact if still available. Regards

No, they work backwards... they say : " Kanopool found x blocks in y time so they should have z hashing power" - It just shows that we are have been luckier/better in finding blocks lately. The figures below confirms it: Description Time Mean Diff% MeanTx% CDF[Erl] Luck% ?PAPPS% Last 5 Blocks 5.9days 36.47% 135.20% 0.0381 274.23% 367.43% Last 10 Blocks 26.1days 79.31% 138.33% 0.2749 126.08% 172.85% Last 25 Blocks 9.8wks 96.01% 126.83% 0.4461 104.16% 130.91%

Hi guys,
I have got 5 x S9 + PSU for delivery 21Feb on from Bitmain. Unfortunately I am at the limit of my breakers now after a 21Jan batch and will either need to relocate all miners or let go of the 5 for 21Feb delivery.
The cost will be in BCH what I paid + any additional charges if cant change shipping at Bitmain direct (for Kanopool miners). I will advertise elsewhere in the next 2 days.
Anyone interested can PM me for further details.
Mine on!
My PM did not go true,PM me back if you can/will Sorry guys, I changed the setting but seems to only work for some. I dont want to fill the forum with this so can mail me at mblaubscher 'at' gmail.com if PM not working. Thanks
