Question to anyone with an S9 on Kano Pool: how much reward do you normally get for a block? Looking back over the history of the pool, it has gone up to 8 days without finding a block. Is the reward on par with the other pools in that timeframe?

Antminer's reports of temp are NOT Celsius they are Fahrenheit.

Same for Awesome miner the temps are NOT Celsius....

Americans just don't get it....

ZERO Celsius = 42 F

So when you boards are reporting 80C ....do you really think that they are 174F...are you mining in a bakery oven?

We use Celsius this side of the world - even Bitmain's documentation is in degrees C.

Also, my oven goes to 250C, you might not want to bake stuff at 80C Smiley

Edit: Awesome Miner in C:

There are 100s of posts asking the same question. If you go back about 25 pages and start reading you will find many case studies. Additionally, if the rewards were not on par with other pools do you think that we would be mining here? There is a reason we do. Unless of course we are morons and that could very well be the case. You can't see the forest through the trees. This is about the average over time. One week to the next has a lot of variance. Over time the variance flattens out and you will see that you will make more here than on pools such as slush and antpoo.

....agree. You can also try the below as an estimate to get an idea of the past if you were mining ->

Take a month for instance -
Your coin = 0.91*(total pool coin for month)*(your hash rate)/(pool hash rate)

Obviously it works on blocks found, shares submitted and hash rate varies but it is an estimate.

Edit: Also the more hashing power we have the more blocks we should find, more payments but smaller shares per miner.

A guess but My N Avg=12.05THs   my BTC from that one block was 0.00611453, I am still ramping up started mining on the 31st my s9 will be ramped upon the next block

Yes, there is the ramping up... but also the ramping down. So if one leave today you will still get your BTC share even if not mining.

No benefit in hopping in and out of the pool. Which is the objective of the PPLNS (5d)

Mine on!

I have a live CDT (Coin per Day per Th) on the home page of minergain for kano and slush.  These numbers are assuming you are fully ramped up, so it will take a couple weeks of mining before you see these averages.

Name   Week CDT   Month CDT   Quarter CDT   Year CDT
KanoPool   0.00039619   0.00021934   0.00019232   0.00041881
SlushPool   0.00014426   0.00016328   0.00019514   0.00038954

As you can see, all except the quarter values are higher.  The quarter was down because there were two unlucky 800%+ blocks in October.

From my knowledge of using the pool, you don't get it until we find our next block.

Stay patient! I came and left once due too my impatience. Just keep mining, the rewards will come.

Not bad. How can we tell when we are finally ramped up? I was assuming that ramping up only took a couple of days, not weeks. Sad

Thanks again, I did ping each of them and NYA is super low, like 12 ms.  Also i am in New Jersey, so that makes sense.  Just waiting for my AntMiner S9 to finish its boot up process so I can see if the new settings worked.

Welcome, fellow Jersey miner! Happy to have you join the party!

My only advice to you (and to all who are new to this pool) is....patience, patience, patience.
I am a small hobby miner (one S7, one S5, and in winter an S3 that warms my becroom), but I have been here for 2 years+ and I am profitable (hodl almost everything for future) and making more than other pools I tried when I first started.  But don't take my word for it, listen to all the more experienced and much larger miners than me...they are here because they are smart and they know this is the best pool, with the best support from this amazing community, and the best communication and technical prowess from our pool op Kano.

Mine on!  Smiley

Antminer's reports of temp are NOT Celsius they are Fahrenheit.

Same for Awesome miner the temps are NOT Celsius....

Americans just don't get it....

ZERO Celsius = 32 F  (oopps yes I wrote 42 at first)

So when you boards are reporting 80C ....do you really think that they are 174F...are you mining in a bakery oven?

WELL, lets educate everyone.....
Awesome miner is in Deg C.  If you click on a miner, then you click on the summary tab on the bottom.  You will see a list and at the bottom is CHIP TEMP  79/74/79 Deg C   It actually has this!
If you click on the ASIC tab you will see  ASIC 0 1 and 2    you will also see a temperature listed like 68, 61, and 70 Deg C  This is THE BOARD temp

If you doubt that it is in Deg C - I have a Rapberry pi with a temp sensor monitoring the exhaust temp.  It is around 44 Deg C  Since 79 deg is Not Deg F ( IE Slightly above room temp) this is Deg C for absolute SURE!

Furthermore I can understand why people would not know, or think other wise.  I used to think the same, because there was no Deg C written on awesome miner before, it was just a number. an update fixed that.

ALSO if you think about computer electronics like GPU mining, 70 Deg C is not that hard to believe.  if that was Deg F,  then Why the F*!$ is my house getting so hot!  :-)

Good question!...probably the same reason I have the AC on, the windows open and it's 41 out in NC...something about 6 S9's and 4 L3's running in the house....I'm living in a blast furnace... Shocked
