121  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the best bitcoin casino? on: October 06, 2014, 07:56:14 PM
I think PrimeDice or CoinBroker are good Bitcoin casino's (Check my signature link for CoinBroker)

CMIIW, isn't Coinbroker.io a altcoin exchange/trading site rather than a casino?

On the positive side, at least it costs the spammers something to spam. Email spam has much lower costs.

But then the cost is clearly not high enough to stop the site owner from advertising his site with transaction spams.

Yes, for sure. We need to come up with other ways to increase their costs and lower their effectiveness.

Well since the "ad" works only on blockchain.info, it would be great if we have more alternative sites providing block explorer and wallet service. We have a few other block explorers but none of them offers a hosted wallet service.

sadly, 95% men know about bitcoin, women are not so tech interested in general probably

I don't think we have 95% men knowing about bitcoin.

The MDB report also showed that affluence has played a role in how consumers learn about digital currency. In the study group, 70% of those who made more than $100,000 annually had heard of bitcoin, while 43% of respondents from lower-income households said they knew about or had used digital currency.

The % would likely to be much lower in less developed countries.

Yeah indeed, you should check the WIKI and search around this forum for Bitcoin tutorials.

I think the best place to start is https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/FAQ
If u are looking for Bitcoin while learning about it ...U may try www.CoinLearn.org
But, the wiki is more comprehensive the than the site that pays u in Bitcoin.

Hey jeroenn13 + newIndia

Thank you for the reply. Definitely good resources. Looks like I need to just "learn how to learn" BTC. No lazy all inclusive manual.

Indeed Smiley Bitcoin is worth reading.

Yup, but it is not easy for newbies to understand bitcoin. It took me quite some time to fully understand how bitcoin (wallet, transaction, mining, message signing, and many others) works. Smiley

Join my signature campaign i think they still aceppting people... its for newbies

Nope, I don't think newbies are allowed to join the PB Mining campaign. You need to be at least a jr member.
Anyway, the campaign is closed now.

I think this could be a record as to how quickly a campaign filled up. I think it took ~4 hours to get ~45-55 participants

Yup, I believe so.
Many of the users have been looking for a slot in sig campaign, and PBMining is offering 0.1 for 50 posts for even lower rank members (it seems). No wonder it gets so many participants so fast. Smiley

PB Mining (Thread)
Payment period: Monthly.
Minimum posts: min 50 post/monthly.
Payments: Member /Sr. member/ Hero : 0.1BTC per month.
Miscellaneous: it is  forbidden to use a referral link!  That is a separate promotion.  You cannot collect the 10% bonus through this campaign!

But it is very strange .

And the PBMining signature campaign is full already now. Smiley

******************************************CLOSED**********************
**********We have reached the maximum number of participants needed for the time being.  Thank you********************

128  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining Signature Campaign! ***CLOSED!**** on: October 06, 2014, 07:03:12 PM
Since you provide a sig code for jr members and you didn't specify the rate for each member rank but just "We pay 0.1 BTC per month for 50 posts.", it seems to me that you are paying the same rate for hero members and jr members.
It is very strange IMO as the sig ad of higher rank members are much bigger and draws more attention...

Here you have some gambling site http://www.infinium-8.org/bitcoin/
Is for free so if you like "bingo" - for sure you will have fun Smiley good luck Smiley

Ps. Still i'm not sure if they pay Smiley but looks interesting..

The game itself is quite interesting, but the chance for you to accumulate 0.05+ btc is very very small. And exactly as you said, there is no payment proof anywhere, and so I would rather not suggest it as a way to earn bitcoin. Smiley
130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie question : Cloud mining on: October 06, 2014, 06:29:52 PM
You can make a profit on cex.io by buying GH/s and selling it.  Much like trading.  But just buying the GH/s won't be profitable at all as of the difficulty increasing.

Don't forget about the maintenance fee on cex.io. You need to pay $0.105 per month for each GH/s which consumes most of your cloud mining revenue.
131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie question : Cloud mining on: October 06, 2014, 06:27:11 PM
Best way to make money from bitcoins is to buy them and then forget about them for sometime. Good luck!

How do I know when to sell and where exactly do I sell ?

It is like impossible to tell how the price will move or when the price will hit the high/low. But if you are confident in bitcoin, you may buy some bitcoin and wait for a few years. Consider that a long term investment and don't invest more than you can lose.

Any reputable exchange will work, bitstamp, btc-e, coinbase, localbitcoins, etc.

You may also want to take a look at this thread, which describes how the trust system works and what each of the numbers means.

And you may read this thread as well, if you want to know how exactly is the trust score calculated.

Is it possible that you can change your bitcoin and credit it to your paypal.

You can use Virwox to sell bitcoin for SLL and further sell SLL for bitcoin.
Or, you can sell bitcoin to another person for paypal on localbitcoins and currency exchange here, but you need to be careful with scammers.
140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: confused on why some miners are so expensive. on: September 05, 2014, 07:38:38 PM
So I'm really new but I'm looking at let's say antminer S3 okay and then let's say a teraminer like an S2 (OR ANY TERAMINER)
Would or should I save my money for a teraminer ($1300-$1800)
So no here is the thing. S3 is about half a bitcoins and your required to buy in pairs so 1bitcoin for 2(I'm rounding down) so at this day about $500-$540 for 2 S3
so
456*2=912gh for 2s3
1tera=1000gh

It seems cheaper to buy the 2s3 (maybe more ) as to the teraminer right?

Or is my math wrong?

What about buying 10 ASICMiner Tube? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735728.0
You can get 8-8.5 TH/s for 7.9 btc, and the power consumption is about 0.9 J per GH/s.
