301  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinStore launching with 0% margin on: March 09, 2013, 09:34:58 PM
Guys, store is offline. What's up?
302  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will you wait for stability to buy in? on: March 09, 2013, 08:29:41 PM
After all, if it's going to the stars, what's a few percent profit?

I am not advising a change in your strategy, however, you may want to think a little more carefully about this bit.

If it's going to the stars, a few percent ends up being HUGE. If it doesn't go up much, -then- a few percent won't be a significant amount of actual value.
303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Moderately wealthy individual going cold-bloodedly all in on: March 09, 2013, 07:55:00 PM
This is the first time I've heard the term "cold-bloodedly" used in a positive way.

Traditional wisdom will say to diversify, however, he has a solid point. If everything else is losing value, it's pretty tempting to go all in with Bitcoin.

I hope he truly understands the fundamentals.
304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [VIDEO] - RT's Max Keiser goes wild for Bitcoin on: March 09, 2013, 07:47:27 PM
Erik please tell me you have some more backstory on this! Was he up all night? He seems like he is a little out of it.  Wink

I've watched this segment 4 times today, and I love it. Other people are going to think he's nuts but I'm thrilled to see Max happy for a change.
305  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-03-08 Keiser Report 416: It Feels Great To Be A Bitcoin Millionaire on: March 09, 2013, 04:14:36 PM
Double thumbs up!
306  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Thoughts on raising the Hard 1Mb block size limit on: March 08, 2013, 07:48:18 PM
No reason to start another thread on this, especially when you haven't read the ones before it.
Your premise is clearly contradicted by Satoshi's emails/posts.
307  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinStore.com (Beta) - Electronics super store with over 500K items! on: March 08, 2013, 04:16:02 AM
We need to support these guys while they work on their site. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Sure, but they could also drive their traffic by offering their products via bitmit that most likely has more customers already than bitcoinstore.

How are they supposed to fix the problems with their site if they are busy adding 500,000 listings to Bitmit? Who is going to handle the checkout process? And who is going to pay Bitmit's fees?

If you know people shopping on Bitmit that aren't aware of the BitcoinStore - maybe refer them. I don't think what you're suggesting is remotely feasible.
308  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinStore.com (Beta) - Electronics super store with over 500K items! on: March 07, 2013, 10:17:43 PM
I'm sure they will improve the site as fast as possible. Please don't give up - if there's something on another site, post a link, ask for help.

This store is a huge step towards not having to cash out into fiat. Let's support it as strongly as possible!

Well, the store in itself is no huge forward as it doesn't work. Maybe they should sell their stuff via Bitmit. Although Bitmit is all but transparent, the shopping experience is quite good atm.
Worked for me. One successful order down, will place another one tonight.

It may not be perfect, but having this huge selection available is great for us. A friend of mine saw my shirt today and said (rather arrogantly, I thought) "I looked into Bitcoin, but I don't think it will work out. You can't buy anything with it."

Last year I would have had to say "Of course you can, drugs, online poker chips, and vpn services!" Today I said "Good sir, you can buy hundreds of thousands of consumer electronics, computers/components, etc. Kindly check yourself."

We need to support these guys while they work on their site. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Well, that was epic.
310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt.Gox is the real winner here... dat 0.6% fee... on: March 07, 2013, 03:25:58 AM
You'd think that for that .6% 1.2% of millions of dollars, they'd get their software and servers up to snuff.

This is ridiculous.
311  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to 42, what did you expect after a 30% surge in three days? on: March 07, 2013, 01:49:24 AM
I think this is the only correct response. I mean, how many charts and anaysis showing that now was the time to sell did we endure from 16-49? Every day was time to sell!! The fact that one of the TA guys made a good call is not surprising to me in the least, nor do I lend anymore credit to TA.
Yeah, of course. Make 100 calls, you'll get a few right. Their batting average is still ridiculously poor.

flaab, since you're so sure of your amazing insight about how we should be at 15-20, you won't be buying in again until we get that low, right?
312  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to 42, what did you expect after a 30% surge in three days? on: March 07, 2013, 01:41:15 AM
you guys were really lucky to sell on time, those that did. but you couldve easily been watching bitcoin climb to 60 instead. it's not worth the risk. win this one, lose next time, there's no method to it.
Of course it is method to it, it is called technical analysis.
LOL.
313  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin crash is Mt.Gox's fault on: March 07, 2013, 01:29:47 AM
Bitfloor's trading engine is amazing.
314  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: instawallet stealing coins I lost over $40,000 *proof* on: March 06, 2013, 11:08:15 PM
sorry for that i didnnt realize that

The way to get help is NOT to slander services you don't understand.

And there's absolutely no reason to spam the board with thread after thread of the same topic.

You're not off to a very good start here.
315  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Squall1066 VS Dank on: March 06, 2013, 06:55:45 PM
Don't let my inability to pay you back hinder your trust in others.  I will repay you with a invaluable prize of immortality and peace, ASAP, after the concert which you'll be first row or backstage at.

Again, sorry squall.

The terms of the loan weren't "I send you BTC, you send me back horseshit." Have a little shame and keep your mouth shut until you can pay him back.
316  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lets get our tinfoil hats on... RIGHT NOW... on: March 06, 2013, 02:12:20 AM
The 3 addresses are listed. Did any of the transfers from those 3 addresses go out to the donators?
317  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinStore launching with 0% margin on: March 05, 2013, 11:53:44 PM
The price on the site is stuck at 40.03 - it stayed there as the price dipped down close to 39 and now it's near 40.60. Something's wrong.

The site doesn't seem to be updating the price for the last 2 hours or so. Stuck at 40.03.
320  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 3 Bitcoins on: March 05, 2013, 06:25:54 PM

However, the main reason I did not respond is because 150 seems like a bit of a crazy markup when BC are only ~$38

BTC are ~$40. They were only ~$38 for a few minutes.  Don't expect to get an exchange price unless you go through all the hassle and delays involved with using an exchange.

However, you may be able to do better than 50$ each on localbitcoins.com, have you checked it?
