181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Notice for BTC begginer on: January 28, 2018, 06:49:50 PM
This is good advice. I jumped in without knowing anything a couple of months ago and got slightly burned only because I jumped in small (so I did use some caution). After learning more about BTC and other altcoins I am making much better investment/speculation strategies and hope to learn even more.
182  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Exit / Cash out strategies on: January 28, 2018, 04:48:13 PM
Sell on the way up, buy on the way down. Depending on the speed of the rise/fall use a larger percentage of your investment. example: You have 100 bitcoin and the price is rising rapidly. Sell 10% at each $100 rise. Keep track of price at each sale. Price begins to fall. Each time it is at least $50.00 less than your purchase on the way up, sell that 10%. Kind of a First In, Last Out (FILO) approach.

Looks very interesting. Keep after it and maybe you will be the next youtube star ! Smiley I will subscribe to your channel and perhaps give you some feedback from time to time. Good Luck!
184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the most secure cryptocurrency? on: January 28, 2018, 12:42:30 AM
I am going with DeepOnion for my security and privacy currency. It is tied in with the TOR network and seems to be maturing very nicely. They have a strong team and good support from the community. They have other products like Deepsend and Deepvault that look very interesting and useful.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Coins to buy that will 10x coins from now till August $$$$$$ on: January 28, 2018, 12:01:51 AM
I'm not an expert but I have looked into a couple coins and liked what I saw. Those would be DeepOnion and Crypterium and I will be holding those. A couple others I am holding are Steller and Verge although I have not really looked into those. They were just cheap and my brother had mentioned them Smiley
Pick a coin, see if it has a purpose other than just being a coin, look at the website, whitepaper, roadmap, team behind it, community supporting it.
186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and Tor relays on: January 27, 2018, 11:43:09 PM
I really don't know enough to go into a detailed explanation but if you google "btc tor connections need to be within the 1MB size" there seems to be quite a bit of history and information about this topic.
187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any site which allows withdraw of Fiat currency in Qatar on: January 27, 2018, 10:27:55 PM
You may have to withdraw in USD or another fiat and do exchange at a bank or wherever those type exchanges are performed. There is a site called paxful I found but have never used.Good Luck.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get someone to trust in Bitcoin. on: January 27, 2018, 05:35:28 AM
It's a risk no matter what coin you invest in. Total speculation. They can go up to $20,000 or fall to $0.0000001 or some shutdown altogether. It is riskier than mutual funds and most stocks. But you can lose your butt in the stock market also. It depends on what you want to invest in. Instead of bitcoin maybe he would want to buy some newer coin at $0.005 for a few bucks. If it goes up he may make a lot of money. If it goes down then he is not out much.
189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Finding node with qt-wallet on: January 27, 2018, 05:26:30 AM
I got the list of nodes for my qt-wallet at the site distributing the wallet. I have the DeepOnion Qt wallet and went to their forums and searched for deeponion.conf  use the name of whatever coin you have the wallet for.
190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nobody has seen Bitcoin creator "satoshi" ?? on: January 27, 2018, 05:17:37 AM
I think he was spotted with Elvis at a 7-11 Smiley Seriously, if he is still around and held his BTC then he is probably sitting in a jacuzzi....on a yacht!
191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long do sell orders last? on: January 27, 2018, 05:10:18 AM
on GDAX you can go to advanced and the default for the 'Time in force policy' is "Good until cancelled". I don't know about the others but they may have similar selections.
192  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin price speculation on: January 26, 2018, 03:28:35 AM
I believe that in the near term BTC will hang out in it's current range. Once all the gubmints get their taxes and regulations in place I believe it will rise mainly based on supply limitation and notoriety. Big rise or small is hard to say but with all the competition out there with more useful and lower fee transactions I lean towards smaller rise. But what do I know? : P
193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: today's fake investments company on: January 26, 2018, 02:36:21 AM
Sound advice. I look for quality of the site. Read the whitepaper and roadmap. Is there a community or following and how do they interact. What is the product they are offering and how is it different or an improvement on similar products.
194  Other / Off-topic / Re: coin market exchange on: January 26, 2018, 01:17:27 AM
which exchange are you looking for? The ones I know of are Cryptopia, Binance, CoinBase, GDAX and I know there are several others. When you talk about a site coming back, Bitconnect comes to mind. If you have not given them money yet, it is my understanding you do not want to but do your own research to decide. If you had money with them, then you might be out of luck but I did read that at least some money may be returned. I have never been there though so google for information may be the best unless someone comes along that is familiar. Good luck.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen when the DeepOnion Airdrop ends? on: January 25, 2018, 11:38:16 PM
Ditto on Davido's post about the "troll". I am kind of new here but I have to look in wonder at these people with ads in their sig's badmouthing another coin. You come on and spout your perceived biases, nothing really factual, just disparaging remarks and never once mention how the product you are advertising is superior to what you are trolling. Sorry, but if you are posting to qualify for an airdrop from your choice of coin I would not even count your posts. As far as arguments as to the benefit of your advertised products the posts are garbage.
Try convincing people instead of throwing trash. It might even make me click your link Smiley
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will happen when the DeepOnion Airdrop ends? on: January 25, 2018, 03:12:36 AM
"It's going to crash hard, a ton of onion will be dumped.  It would be around 1 dollar if they didn't change the airdrop rules. See what they did is artficially raise the price by requiring more onions to be held in order to get the airdrop.

I would STAY FAR FAR AWAY from onion, its a pointless coin anyways as we already havea bunch of other privacy cryptos."

I am new to this crypto stuff but I have to take issue with a couple of your points.
I hold a few ONION that I purchased and am far from qualifying for an airdrop so I don't have a big stake in this one way or the other.
First, I do believe that they just lowered the hold requirement so that more new people could participate in the airdrop. How does giving more free onions (increasing supply) artificially raise the price? How is the price maintaining where it is if everyone is just holding and sitting still. Yes, ONION is down from it's high but so is almost everything else.
Second, yes there are several privacy cryptos out there. But how many of those are integrated with TOR. Some will argue that that much privacy is only needed by criminals who lurk on the "dark web". As far as that goes it is the same as you handing me $1000 U.S.D. in a dark alley to burn down your business for the insurance. If the bills are not marked in some way there is no proof you gave me that money.
I see it as enough privacy that people in oppressed countries can get money for food, weapons or a better way of life. I'm sure there are more legitimate uses that I can't even think of at the moment. I just don't see it as a "pointless coin".
You are definitely entitled to your opinion and you may invest as you like but I see a lot of effort being expended to make a successful coin. I see other coins that are pointless (redundant BTC) without all the effort like BCN. I'm not trying to put down BCN but I don't see the effort or purpose and if you check it's value you might understand the difference. Invest or not, your choice. Have a good one.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How many altcoins do you hold? on: January 24, 2018, 10:48:59 PM
started out with the usual suspects- BTC, ETH, LTC
traded off a lot (but not all) of those for XRP, XVG, XLM
bought a few TRUMP to impress the boss
bought some LINDA to impress an aunt
bought some CRPT tokens in the hopes of some growth and profit
I  CPU mine XMR, DSH, BCN and XDN on MG. small amounts (of course) just for the experience
Last and certainly not least, my favorite... ONION to have and to hodl til death do us part.
198  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New exchange wishes to get some advises. on: January 24, 2018, 09:56:19 PM
I run Linux and primarily use Chromium (not to be confused with Chrome) browser. The first thing I noticed was that the page did not auto-size to the window nor is there a scrollbar so I miss out on whatever is to the right of "Y"  at the top of the page. Yes, I could zoom out when I go to the site but that would not happen unless you are offering free coins Smiley  I realize the site may not be ready for prime time yet and wanted to bring this to your attention as it would prevent me from using the site. If you are polling for coins I vote for DeepOnion (ONION) and Crypterium (CRPT) and of course the big brands (BTC, ETH, etc.).
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deep Onion -Should I trade 3 ltc on cryptopia for it, Tor network real? on: January 20, 2018, 06:13:49 PM
I must say that I recently got into the cryptocraze so I am a noobie. Having said that, I bought 3 onions when it was $6 and wish I had bought a lot more. Since then it has hit $19 and went down (of course) when most all coins dropped in the last week or so. Today it is still almost double what I paid for it and I expect it to rise as the rest of the market rises. From that standpoint I consider it a good investment.
You may want to visit the site and read the (alpha) White Paper (I hope I am allowed to post links here )  https://deeponion.org/White-Paper.pdf

I only skimmed it last night but it seems these people are serious about their objectives and goals and I see a future for this coin.

I will go out on a limb a bit here. I am very much not an expert on crypto, security, anonymity, etc. but I am as sure as I can be that if you want anonymity for privacy reasons that DeepOnion would be the way to go. But if you want it for illegal reasons (I'm sure you don't) then I can give no guarantee that the resources of the gubmint cannot find you.

I must add that deeponion needs to get busy on a wallet that works in TAILS for best anonymity.
(If you are not familiar with TAILS just google "linux tails". )

I cannot say if there would be any better investments or not. I only joined cryptopia to specifically purchase ONION. I did however buy 1000 LINDA because I have an aunt named Linda and they only cost me $8.00/1000  .  I do not see LINDA going big time but hey you never know.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy altcoins or not? on: January 20, 2018, 05:35:25 PM
Yes!! alt coins are the way to go. Usually cheap and all are aching to go to the moon!  Shocked
