Oh, and Hi everybody!

Hey Arrie, nice to read from you.
By the way, i wonder who else will be returning within this bullrun. Still counting on some (yet unnamed) OG's to send a sign of life to the WO.
Call me sentimental, but i guess i am  Cheesy

You too! hope you are doing well, and all the rest of you too of course.
I do pop in and read now and then, but I'm working again now, and also following a Ukraine war blog closely, so I simply don't have the time.
The blog https://cornucopia.se/
It's not an excusive Ukraine war blog, but he reports every day about the war, of course with a big Ukraine bias as it should be.

How long have you guys been here again?

You know that every late autumn, winter and early spring bitcoin goes up, in the summer it goes sideways, it does that for two years, and then, year three it goes up a lot in late autumn/early winter, and then it nosedives for a year until it has gone down 80% ish.
The new cyckle begins almos exactly a year after the nosedive bottom is hit.

This has happened several cycles now and this is only the first year it goes up in this cycle.
There will be no super duper uppity, it will go up to maybe, if we are lucky, 40-45000.
Next year it will do the same thing, go up about 100 ish %.
Stop acting like girls from the 60's watching The Beatles.

The question of global warming is answered: It is happening and by 2100 lots of shit will be flooded like a mofo.
...

My advice

If you are under 40 look for a place 500 feet above sea level you should be fine at that level.

Lots of the world is 200 feet or more above sea level.Which would likely be fine.

You're too pessimistic.

That growing knowledge base is why scientific organizations like the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are publishing sea level rise projections with increasing levels of confidence.
In its 2019 report, the IPCC projected (chart above) 0.6 to 1.1 meters (1 to 3 feet) of global sea level rise by 2100 (or about 15 millimeters per year) if greenhouse gas emissions remain at high rates (RCP8.5).

I don't see rich people abandoning the Hamptons and Martha's Vineyard...

2019 data is old.

newer data is more like 10 feet by 2100.

For me it is fairly abstract as I have no descendants to worry or care about and I will be 99 in 2100.

If I were 30 with a few kids I would not live 10 miles from the Jersey shore at 66 feet above sea level.

I would move to upstate New York near lake George.

"Located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains at an elevation of 320 feet (98 metres) above sea level and surrounded by low mountains—including Mounts Fivemile, at 2,258 feet (688 metres), and Black, at 2,665 feet (812 metres)—the lake is of glacial origin, has a maximum depth of about 200 feet (60 metres), and ..."

Candlewood Lake

Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Candlewood_Lake
Candlewood Lake is a manmade lake located in Fairfield and Litchfield counties of Western Connecticut, in the northeastern United States.

Surface elevation: 429 ft (131 m)

Water volume: 167,112 acre-feet (206,130,000 ...
Surface area: 5,420 acres (21.9 km2)
Max. depth: 90 ft (27 m)

As for Hamptons it will be fucked by 2100

not so sure about Martha's vineyard as I do not know how it is sturctured. ie a sand bar like Hamptons is costly to dike vs a circle shaped island.

the Hamptons would need 3 sea walls to save.

much like the jersey shore. which is a series of sand bars.

they need 2 dikes 100 miles long and 30-50 feet high.

to save a 2 mile wide island .

and a third dike on the actual continent part of NJ.

If you study NJ you realize they have planned to use the NJ parkway for the dike so anything on the east side of it is fucked.

I have designed a few hundred speculative how to save the USA from flooding maps
If you look below and see my NJ plan and trace out the elevation maps or the heights of the GSP you will see this shit is planned for on many places in the world.

I live in NJ and plan to stay here at the moment I am on the good side of the GSP and will stay there.

I have heard that shit since the early 80s, and absolutely nothing have come true. The university of Lund measures the sea level every year, and it still rises within the same 1-3mm that it has done since forever.

I have said time and time again I have zero worries. I am at 66 years old and 2100 is not in the cards for me.

My location it about 65 feet above sea level and I am at least 15 miles from the sea.

and the GSP would be an easy peasy dike/barrier if it melts faster.

To me it has happened before and will happen again.

And

here is info from your University

https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/article/watch-sea-level-rise-urgently-requires-new-forms-decision-making-study

https://portal.research.lu.se/en/publications/evidence-for-a-rapid-sea-level-rise-at-7600-years-ago

maybe Atlantis really happened?

7.2 meters  is 23.5 feet

and I live at 65-69 feet above sea level with a large barrier GSP between me and the sea.

but rapid and 23.5 feet crushes Florida .

https://en-gb.topographic-map.com/map-5w818/Florida/

But as I said I am cool with the temps rising and the ice melting.

and even if it does it by 2050 I doubt I will have flooding were I am moving to.

Freehold NJ 20 miles from the sea with 2 carrier roads GSP and Route 9.

Plus new home is bigger more land and 115 feet above sea level.

I do agree that the sea level may have risen a bit faster 7600 years ago, but it's really not relevant to the discussion.

I'm to busy to find the charts now, Ill have to come back to you.

Thanks for posting, I would have missed it otherwise. It went pretty well.

I wish I could go watch one of these larger rockets take off. I'd have to travel a long way for that though so in the meantime I'll settle with my Estes.

Estes have starship as a flying model?

Cold from hell remnant
Still lives in my left nostril
A weird cold indeed

OT ha, I have something like this....running nose...in a couple of days it transitions to cough....then running nose again....then cough again..2wks already.
Did not check for COVID early enough, now negative...weird.
That 'cold' must have gotten 'something' from the other viruses.

Buuut..it does not matter, the mood is still good due to our favorite pumping higher.

Since yesterday I have similar symptoms. Suddenly I felt very dizzy and the temperature raised to 39. I started taking analgetic every 6 hours and applying nasal sprey. Do you know what is this - covid or other virus/bacterial infection? Sometimes I feel the urge to cough, and sometimes my nose gets a bit swollen. But so far nothing more, except I feel very bad with my whole body aching. Do I need to take antibiotics or to try walking it off.

I keep seeing people violently coughing their guts out everywhere I go. Thankfully I haven't had it yet, but I'm wondering what's causing it. Covid, flu, cold?

It is also the start of the pollen season.

If you get weird cold symptoms it might be a good idea to try som antihistamine just in case.

My guess is good old influenza, take two aspirins (acetylsalicylacid) and just wait for it to pass, read a good book if you can or just sleep it of.

I was court ordered to AA years ago and went up there and called them all a bunch of weak willed pussies and was told I was a disrupting influence and they signed off on my court mandated meetings.

*I was pissed right off the bat when I read the steps and one of them was to accept jesus as my lord and savior and told them there is no way I was going to do that.

I too was once court ordered to attend a AA meeting in the late 90s. It was one meeting only and I didn't need to participate if i didn't want too, but since I was there I decided to go all in and participate.
As I remember it it was rather fun, can't remember any religious stuff, probably wouldn't work in a secular country like Sweden. The participants were alright and seemed like nice people, some of them maybe a bit on the looser side. All in all a new and exciting experience.

Why, I here you say. I was moving my car from one side of the street to the other to avoid a parking ticket on new years eve and stepped right out of my car and in to a police car, I was somewhat over the limit.
