Poland wants to ban bitcoin, and wants the EU to do the same.
I only have a Swedish newspaper article, but I'm sure your google fu is good enough.

Yeah, I remember how the science magazines were all excited about fission power in the 80s "in twenty years we will have working fission power plants, we are so close now".
They are still saying the same thing now. And I bet you that's what they are still saying when I die.
I would love to be wrong, but I doubt it.

I also wonder where they get the funding, it costs an arm and a leg to build those reactors and somehow they just magically get the money to build them, decade after decade. Are they funded by aliens trying to push us forward?

Ok, so maybe not decade after decade, but you know what i mean.

No I take that back, they do get their money decade after decade, I'm gonna go get me some coffee now.

I think you might mean fusion power is being promised.
Fission reactors already exist and indeed do provide some of our electricity already and have been doing so for around 3 to 4 decades.

Yes, of course I mean fusion, sorry brain wasn't awake yet.

Thanks.

On a happier note it looks like France is building 14 new nukes. I am glad, happiness is a warm nuke.....

bonus with fission plants: you are your own nightlight.. no more hitting your big toe on the end tables and such when going to the loo in the middle of the night

cant wait for fusion plants to come on line. go tokamak!

I was honestly pretty disappointed with corn when I saw it take a shit upon release of the CPI numbers.

Didn't make any sense, until I contextualized it as institutional investors dumping on formulaic or speculative FOMO.

The dump made absolutely no sense to me at all, and it's pretty stunning to me how genuinely upset I became with corn for a bit there.

Have been in this for a really long time, and gotten a good sense of the ebb-and-flow of the rollercoaster ride, but this drop within moments of the CPI numbers being released was fucking retarded, and glad to see rational investors scooping the dip like cock-starved nymphos. This drop didn't make any rational sense to me.

Corn is a moody bitch ever since big institutions got involved, but it was inevitable I guess; let their fear be used to our experienced advantage whenever possible.

If it wasn't for the ranch project quickly picking up pace, I'd be buying more corn, but I'm pretty much tapped out for 2022 with everything we have on the go. 40' bridge span is being installed next week, steel anchor bolts were delivered yesterday, barn pad is going to be graded soon, settled on the geothermal location optimally between all our buildings... Fucking thanks Satoshi holy cow.

Probably going to play with our new track loader and clear some land for Rick's beehives and wildflower patches, this weekend.

We're so gay.

Keep us updated about the beehives. This is something i have been looking at doing for a while now, missed out on 200 acres of land recently, was going to do some kind of organic honey (not sure if this is possible, marketing ploy, more than anything else)

Photos would be nice as well, obviously with out giving up OpSec.

NO, not gay at all!

I'm guessing he is using gay in its original meaning.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully they are vaccinated and thus the impact will be minimal. If not then hopefully the hospitals in your neighborhood are past the peak admissions from January.
Yes, but I’m not vaccinated, because until now it seemed to me that this was just a convention ...

As a heavy smoker, I have severe shortness of breath in the mornings and evenings .... so for the most part I worry that my already deplorable lung condition will get worse (although I have not yet taken a test). No matter how stupid it may sound, my subconscious will feel better if it does not know about the diagnosis and will position the current state as a common cold, (although I admit I feel inner anxiety).

Get well soon!

Here you go, at least now you have laid your eyes on a sbc main bearing with striations

But I still love you, going to bed early to read another promising book.
Take care out there!
450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 08, 2022, 03:50:45 PM
just broke into a sbc from my old jag and found striations on the first main bearing I pulled.

Shit.

 English translation anyone?   Grin

Seriously?  If someone writes something like "I remember my old 64k samsung 9560 gigaziljon computer from 85" the whole thread explodes with comments about that computer and all the mods that they did.
Someone tells you that the main bearing in their engine doesn't look good and you go Huh

Quarantaine almost done

Getting a bit bored with it…

What is this quarantine you talk about?

(Sorry I know that wasn't nice, but I couldn't resist).

The ‘Bitcoin Family’ immigrates to Portugal for its 0% tax on bitcoin.

- Didi Taihuttu, patriarch of the so-called ‘Bitcoin Family,’ is setting down roots in Portugal, Europe’s ultimate crypto tax haven.
- The Dutch family of five that has spent the last five years traveling to 40 different countries.
- The Taihuttus chose Portugal for its advantageous crypto tax rules, which include a 0% tax on bitcoin.

Is Taihuttu one of those ancient Dutch names?

Soo many good posts, I'm unfortunately out of merits, so, all of you, have some WOs merits.

(I am translating from the sensible fahrenheit to the non weather sensible celcius for you Europeans and lovely brave Canadians (HONK), although I agree the US are cavemen as far as the metric system goes F is just better for weather, while C is great for science or cooking.. anyway never mind that).

Given the rest of the content of your post, the science of when water freezes might be considered fairly relevant. In truth, both are arbitrary and fine

I am poking the bear with that.  But I do also mean it...  As I said C is better for science (and cooking which IS science really) for sure.  0=freezing 100=boiling.

But 0-100 in F represents a (less exact) useful range of general temperatures for the outside environment with better granularity in between at the unit. 0=cold as hell and 100=Texas.  with 60-80 being a nice 20 point comfort zone.  But you only get about half the whole number granularity with the "science numbers".

If we can only have one scale its Celsius all day long, obviously... but the good old fahrenheit still has a place, I think.

Fun fact, When Anders Celsius first invented the scale it was 100 for freezing and 0 for boiling, it was later inverted.
Pro tip, use half scales, ie 21,5 C for more granularity.

Got curious about "Reacher", but could only find season one on Piratebay, any tips on where I can find the rest of it?

I also stumbled upon something called "Star Trek, Lower decks" Anyone know what that is? Sounds like space porn to me.

I enjoyed season 1 pretty much. It's like a Star Trek version of Futurama. Season 2 was meh, i quit watching after two espisodes.
You may also check out "Disenchanted".

Thanks, will do.

Are you telling me there's only one season?
Thanks.

Not porn. Just a cartoon/comedy loosely related to Star Trek.

Seems very loosely related from the few minutes of clip I just watched.

I'll stick with the Orville for a comedy version of Star Trek

Yeah, I decided to not download it. Orville was entertaining, saw it a couple of years ago.
