1165  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you make friends after college? on: January 22, 2014, 07:37:23 PM
I graduated last year and started working in California. A lot of my co-workers are in their early 30's or early 40's. Most have kids and the ones who don't do not entertain the aspect of socializing outside of work. In university, I lived in the dorms and could stop by at any room and start mingling. Naturally I made friends that way throughout the 2 years I was in the dorms.

At school there were clubs where I could find others with the same interests and make friends that way. After leaving all this behind, I'm a bit lost as to how people make friends post university. I think it gets exponentially harder to make friends as you age. When you're a little kid, anyone can be your friend but as an adult you have all these other filters you think about when trying to make an informed decision about friendship.

Welcome to life.  College kids still live in a bubble. Just wait until you have to get your own health insurance.

And you know what sucks even more, if you're en engineer. You're gonna be stuck with other dude engineers for a very long time.

I suggest you join some clubs in your city and become involved more as a citizen.

1167  Economy / Goods / Re: Hawaii Land For 10 BTC on: January 22, 2014, 04:44:58 PM
This is for real ?

sure it is for real.  did you know that some land is absolutely worthless too? you can buy acres for 1BTC.

i'm am far from Hawaii and know little of the place and real-estate in the real world is something i don't buy.  i only buy internet properties. so much cheaper to maintain and no shitty government to deal with.

FAQ:
Is it legal to melt US currency? NO, it is illegal to melt pennies. However if they are done away with then it would be legal.
Canada is phasing out pennies (for example).

Can you ship outside the US? We can ship to Canada PM for rates.

Canīt you just do this yourself? Yes, these pennies are still in circulation. You can also hunt for silver quarters, dimes and nickels. However it would take a long time for you to hunt for 10,000 copper pennies by hand.

Why copper? It is used in most electronic devices as well as things like bullet shell cases and other usefull things. If you are a conspiracy theorist then you will see that the copper market is less manipulated than the gold or silver market.

Isnt the box of copper huge?! No, It is not that big really. It is kind of heavy though.

Can I order larger ammounts? YES! If you would like to oder one ton of copper pennies then get in touch.

PM or post any more questions
Thanks

that box is one enormous paperweright
1171  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL-55 AMG - $55K on: January 20, 2014, 04:53:33 PM
strange for a 2008 car to have 10k miles on it. i can tell you didn't go out and enjoy your car  as it was meant to.  some people are owned by their toys i guess.

that's a good car though. anything german is good.

1176  Other / Off-topic / Re: I wish I could rent a time machine. on: January 16, 2014, 04:47:10 PM
Travel back to 2011, buy Ģ1500 in BTC and exchange it back in modern day.

Millionaire!

so you think.

a  lot of the early birds sold a lot of their bitcoin before it ever peaked to $1k.

you would have probably sold your coins in the peak back in April and then live in regret again.

besides, if i had a time machine i would go back and enter every winning lottery ticket and invest in public companies way before they reach the marketshare they have now. i'd also leverage politics and rearrange the board.  much more than buying bit coins.

all other alt currencies are just hype and for the desperate to strike it rich.
1177  Economy / Goods / Re: for sale *leatherman rebar NEW IN PACKAGE on: January 16, 2014, 04:42:47 PM

1178  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling $12,000 40-45 year old baseball card collection! *pictures* on: January 16, 2014, 06:53:24 AM

i have a bunch of yugioh and pokemon cards sitting around from my youth too but they won't build any collector value Sad

You never know, they very well might.  Most folk won't keep theirs, and a lot of people in your generation might feel nostalgiac when they near retirement in several decades and want to collect them again.

That's wayyyy too long of a investment.  By the time I retire i expect to be rich already.
1179  Economy / Goods / Re: TONS OF RARE VHS 70s 80s on: January 16, 2014, 06:51:00 AM

1180  Other / Off-topic / Re: NSA on: January 15, 2014, 06:49:21 PM
yeah you are really a nobody.  they don't care if you do drugs or whatever. they have other departments for that. the NSA just wants to know you won't blow anything up or kill people on a mass scale in any way.

pgp is safe from what i hear. using it raises a red flag to the NSA though and you will likely be monitored until they get all the info out of you.
