Yes I agree it does more harm than good to scrub pure or uncirculated coins, but for resilient alloys like brass, bronze, and steel, it can really bring out the highlights of otherwise "ordinary" coins.

I agree, in the case of not knowing how it will effect the value though, I will allow the buyer to clean it if they so choose. If you clean an old bronze roman coin, it loses like 95% of its value, however this isn't a coin from an ancient civilization, so I just don't know how it would effect the value. Its up to the market I suppose.

You can check my sales thread in the signature, I am a long time seller of Casascius coins of all years, as well as graded coins. I can tell you I just saw an add for a graded MS60 (terrible grade) coin. The reason it received such a terrible grade from ANACS is because the coin was marked "cleaned". This is probably the worst thing you can do for a "collectible" piece.

I know a guy that used Brasso to polish his brass coins Tongue

if one understands the context the spelling is irrelevant. only someone without a life would draw joy out of calling someone on it to boost their little ego.

i say the size of your bank account / wallet says how smart u r

GOT MY PASSWORD STOLEN, PLEASE REMOVE BAD REP. I DID'T SENT THIS S**T

If you can't ensure your own account's security such that stuff like this happens, your account isn't particularly trustworthy, you know.
Says the person with the glowing ignore button.

 Cheesy

I can tell why it's glowing blazing yellow... Tongue

Wow, what an emotional and physical turmoil this "crash" had on me.
....

That's what the pros do best. Toy with your emotion and trigger chain reaction of kiddos punching that SELL button.  Great way to clean out the folks < 50BTC.

Unless your day trading these dips have you excited. Better have nerves of steel.

I traded some BTC for gold when it was over $1K.  Don't want the banks reporting any of my activity to the IRS.  Why would anyone deal with fiat and banks.  Things get exponentially cumbersome when you do.

1308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekend dip discovered by Chinese. on: December 08, 2013, 04:06:17 PM
The point is that weekend dips have returned and now the Chinese have fallen for it. Since they are allowed to freely trade bitcoins openly without needing a license, they will become very bullish.

What are you doing about it?

Can't trust anyone. Not even Sr. members.  Then again, even VPIs catch a severe case of greed. See the case of TradeFortress. Smiley

If this person PMs you, DO NOT CLICK ON ANY OF HIS LINKS!

He sent me a PM claiming he had 2 Neptunes pre-ordered.  In it he had some link to 'some' user's profile he claimed would handle the escrow service. That link was FAKE and for the soul purpose of phishing. And when I responded demanding receipts and called him out about the funny link, he immediatly responds claiming someone hacked his account... and I happened to be his target... what a joke. This guy is a total scammer. He didn't even follow the instructions in my WTB topic about the Neptunes.  Here is a screenshot:

You missed that bus a loooooong time ago. Tongue
1313  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: *WTB* ALL NEPTUNE PRE-ORDER ARRIVIALS on: December 07, 2013, 07:04:13 PM
i will only negotiate with you when you have them at hand and have used them to give me your review of them. i'd also like to know the performance and functionality of all components before i buy.

basically i want to be the second owner of your miners when you consider selling them.

i am posting this thread now so i can make some contacts before they receive them.

i missed the first batch and will defiantly not place an order on the second batch at a higher price.  nor do i want to gamble on an unknown ETA.

I have 4 pre order neptunes first day orders what are you willing to pay for them

How convenient.
Make certain you escrow this guy bitmarket.io.

of course. if i'm dumb enough to get scammed i deserved it.
1314  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: My Coinbase was just compromised on: December 07, 2013, 05:11:21 PM
Here is a brief update.

I have spoken to Olaf once and it wasn't very productive conversation.  I believe my 2FA code was stolen (neglegence on my part was keeping it around in the first place)

I just woke up to find my checking account with Wells Fargo to be 100% drained with overdraft kicking in,

My Coinbase account was linked to a savings account which was linked to a Wells Fargo Visa.  On Monday 12/02/13 I spoke with Wells Fargo and they froze both accounts.  On Wednesday they attempted to withdraw and failed.  Now this morning I woke up and found my checking account drained with overdraft kicking in

When I first signed up with Coinbase this year I had linked my checking account, but within a month I DELETED IT and relinked a savings instead.

My CHECKING account wasn't even being listed at all on Coinbase, but it appears they keep that information..

I still cant reach Olaf, I messaged him on here as well and submitted a new ticket.

Your bank will cancel all transactions from coinbase if the requested amount puts your account in the negative.  It may say your account is in the negative while the transaction is pending, but the closer it gets to that delivery date the sooner they will cancel the transaction.

Had the same thing happen to me. I accidentally placed a huge order from my phone app while i checking prices.

1318  Economy / Computer hardware / *WTB* ALL NEPTUNE PRE-ORDER ARRIVIALS on: December 07, 2013, 01:13:13 AM
If you pre-ordered the first batch, please PM me so I can be the second buyer of your units when you're ready to part with them.

I want a minimum of 4. The more you have the better. I have the cash at hand to make payment by wire or bitcoins.
1319  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] 1oz GOLD COINS on: December 07, 2013, 12:28:58 AM
Also check out Agora Commodities.  I've ordered from both Amagi & Agora, and both are quite legit.  Agora tends to ship faster, though.

Thanks for the info. I will buy some from them right now as well.
