Not disagreeing here, but centralization and decentralization are not the only states possible.  They are two abstract ideal ends on a continuum.  A fully centralized system doesn't exist; centralization of information asymptotically approaches total singularity, and decentralization likewise approaches total entropy.

> I mean that all earnings in this system can be get only from the money from next members.

I believe what you are trying to make is a practical, moral observation about who benefits from Bitcoin's cash flows. But really this is necessarily true of any system that requires its participants to distinguish between the value of resources outside itself vs inside itself, and who must choose, based on this distinction, whether to move some of their own resources from outside to inside.
22  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: New transaction malleability attack wave? Another stresstest? on: October 07, 2015, 08:54:27 AM
Besides this, Satoshi seems to have had quite a few reasons to develop
Bitcoin such as fleeing from banks, creating a trustless system, etc.
OK. So my reason is to protect your life savings from this ponzi scheme called bitcoin Smiley
I want to prove that decentralized trustless system can not exists in long term.
It either transforms to centralized system or loses its security.

>>> It either transforms to centralized system or loses its security.

This is correct.  I disagree about the "Ponzi" comment, but that is irrelevant really.

I wonder if anyone in Bitcoin has ever thought about how this pure decentralized system has no counterpart in nature?  None.

A game:   cite of an example where the universe has evolved a natural system exhibiting coordination of behavior by a full decentralization of group consensus, and I will tell you why it is wrong.

Bitcoin isn't supernatural, it's not special just because humans made it and can "outsmart" the constraints of the medium they exist in.

Energy loss, signal propagation limits, information entropy,  nature itself abhors decentralization (of the Bitcoin sort) and will tend to centralize due to self-signalling feedback effects, or lose signal integrity due to entropy.  Consensus, when confronted with the hard limits of signalling in the medium it is sustained, must specialize by losing least significant inputs or decompose into fragments.

No getting around this.  Bitcoin cannot "win" the battle to scale while remaining decentralized; there is no possible win condition unless the criteria for "decentralization" are loosened (which, abstractly, is what larger blocks and overlay/sidechains both do).

24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing ZiftrCOIN Release on: July 21, 2015, 09:41:58 PM
I like how the rapid slide in price over the past 48 hours abruptly came to a halt (temporarily I assume) as soon as this topic was addressed.   Still feels like we're on track for 4000 or below in the next few weeks though.  I am glad I didn't partake in the presale,  I totally forgot about that!  Ouch.  I guess my minor 30% loss is not much to complain about really.   Going to hang on to my crumbs anyway, in case Ziftr / GoCoin somehow figure out how to deliver on their original plan.

Nothing looks like PayCoin until it suddenly does.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing ZiftrCOIN Release on: July 21, 2015, 03:37:05 AM
Ziftrcoin won't be useful at retail until Ziftrpay and the merchants that use it are in full operation, which hasn't happened yet. Ziftr is in the midst of completing a merger with GoCoin, in which the two will merge their technologies into a new, potentially leading payment processor in the crypto space. Part of that ecosystem is the use of Ziftrcoin as a coupon/incentive, a way for merchants to give back a loyalty bonus to customers, etc... But it's all still in the works, nothing has launched yet. Ziftrcoin is just getting established with a network to run it and exchange trade. It's going to take time, especially something on the scale of the "Ziftrverse" they have planned.

One would think that Ziftr itself would start accepting it first, but that hasn't happened as of yet. Company representatives continue to say they still see Ziftrcoin as a core component of what they're planning on doing with Ziftrpay though, so I think it's just a matter of time. This one was never going to be a quick pump and dump and I think it's fortunate that nobody has actually chosen to do that to it, to this point. Could sour people on the coin before the whole ecosystem is even close to being ready.

Yes I just took a trip to the sites indicated by RoomBot above and there's a bunch of things to buy on them (though it seems to be a passthrough to Amazon, but with discounts), as well as a rewards points program, but no apparent way to involve ZRC ZiftrCoin in any of this.  They hardly even mention it exists, though I saw the press release (with the link that is broken now)  about ti GoCoin / Ziftr merger.  I never heard much about GoCoin  prior to that press release though.  So many places all doing the digital wallet thing all at once now,  market is getting crowded quick.    Hope Ziftr can gain some of that mindshare before the market makes up its mind on who the winner and who the runner up are,  because there's not much room for anything after 2nd place in these battles.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing ZiftrCOIN Release on: July 21, 2015, 12:53:24 AM
Sigh.  I bought a bunch of these ZRC a couple months ago with only very casual research, which was of course a mistake.  The general ecosystem ideas for a new spin on coupon and loyalty incentives outlined in the roadmap looked unique enough to have potential but I didn't look much deeper than that, and I noticed the coin has had almost no reaction to the various pumps and rallies that Bitcoin, Litecoin and most other alts experienced, which also seemed interesting to me as well.

I thought it was worth a shot, but at this point I am starting to realize that all I did was I give free money to whoever has the uber secret kickass GPU miner farm that keeps relentlessly dumping these things on the markets. Been doing this stuff for years but still trip myself up in the altcoin shuck and jive game now and again.

Since I'm buried at this point I thought I might as well try to use ZRC for its stated purposes as a loyalty points incentive token.

Does anyone know where to start with this?  I have about 3,000 ZRC, it's not worth much (not anymore at least) but should be enough to run through a test case or two in an online store that is set up to work with ZiftrCoin.

Anyone here had luck trying this yet?  What are some good places or services you've used that I can try out actually using ZRC?

@unklo, I don't know, it affected only the coins not placed to sell orders.

Let's take recent TX - 39a06b800323dae9cf4448404eb56a58645c91d9a7bb467eca561db896fe3ba1. It's shown as staking, 24,370 coins staked, 24,385 returned. But I've received 0 at Cryptsy. And this story is going on for a month already - https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/187017

Sorry to hear that. I heard some rumors Cryptsy was going to stake coins and possibly this is in effect now.

Unfortunately I do not know anyone from Cryptsy hence cannot help you directly. But I do believe if you keep asking about update to your ticket via chat they will eventually address this problem.

It's worth the time to get to know the main people at Cryptsy.  Most of the NOBL market seems to be there, and they are good at responding even in chat.
Main issue is to know the difference between those who can help you (Admins) and those who can't do anything except pass along your questions (chat mods) where they will go into the dark recesses of someone's inbox and probably get buried.

I believe Admins have a blue name and some kind of special symbol next to their name,  chat mods have no symbol just a blue name.

BTW  there is some nice support on NOBL right now over there,  it's been building decently for a while but seems overshadowed by the crazy pumps in almost every medium-to-large market altcoin the past 3 weeks.  Those are starting to peter out now, so maybe it's a good time.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - 8% PoS | 1Yr+ | MARKETPLACE | PAY | GIFT | CHARITIES/MERCHANTS on: June 19, 2015, 06:01:26 AM
Dear all, I'm having an issue with NOBL at Cryptsy for 1 month already and it's getting worse day by day. Ticket 187017 at Cryptsy's freshdesk. Coins disappear off my balance by tiny portions every day without my confirmation/notification. Cryptsy was notified immediately, but done nothing. Once my positive balance on NOBL reached zero, that didn't stop and I started having negative balance.

On May 20 I notified admins in Cryptsy's chat about negative balance and my problem - in 20 minutes my NOBL balance was positive (not fully restored though). That allowed me to do some withdrawals to save some coins. But with every next day coins continued disappearing off NOBL balance. With negative balance on any coin at Cryptsy I can't make any withdrawal/transfer and now I can't even leave messages in chat. It's like I owe to Cryptsy and my debt increases every day. Can you imagine having negative balance on any exchange?

Address is 9b7cvdbs58t4dy42Gnx6uTgozpDsWH5SBC, problem can be tracked since May 19th. After 3 weeks of having this issue Cryptsy's support posted new status to my ticket - "wallet/network fix". At the same time NOBL wallet status at Cryptsy is shown with blue color and actual block is the same as on the block explorer. Other exchanges trade as usual and no one reported of this problem so far. I suspect Cryptsy is having trouble with their database, but they did nothing to stop my problem at the start.

Negative balance today is -1844197.55 NOBL, but total loss is much more.

You have to get on them in the chat box and just stay in front of them.  Especially Mullick and Horus.  They will get you sorted out, just don't come across as an angry neckbeard and get whiny, or the room will turn against you very quick.

Just be persistent and make sure you talk to admins not chat mods, those guys can't help you, only admins can.

Why is this coin is so slow growing, I'm tired of waiting when it's the best day for her.

People with low patience and -32  (!!!)   trust ratings maybe are not the right fit for NOBL.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - 8% PoS | 1Yr+ | MARKETPLACE | PAY | GIFT | CHARITIES/MERCHANTS on: June 18, 2015, 06:53:25 AM
I never expected NOBL to get into this position but the sad part about digital currencies at this stage is that it does favor the low supply coins even ones that have nothing going for them besides easy manipulation, however as the industry grows I truly believe higher supply coins that have good use will benefit.

To get into what position?  AFAIK  NOBL is doing nicely for being a sensible, long-horizon coin without any "lotto game"  gimmicks with destructive inflationary PoS rates.  The only reason those coins with those ridiculously high rates don't fall to rock bottom is that the devs / bagholders HODL and don't put the huge stakes they make on exchanges, because the game of baiting noobs into buying and supporting the price would be over right away and they know that.

They are all waiting for their moment to catch the surge when their coin gets a visit from a pump group,  to drop the giant stake bomb they have been collecting.
You buy into them, you better realize you are gambling with being remote-nuked by them for any reason at any moment, just when things start looking really solid.

This is not possible with NOBL, because of the mature and realistic (and still chain-securing) PoS rate it has.

Incidentally I notice a definite buy trend lately, I thought NOBL would be lingering at 5-6-7,  it's instead slowly ramping up through 8-9-10,  I would not be surprised if it finds a floor in double digits again soon.

LOL.   I can summon him here if you want.   He only shows up when people call him out (if he doesn't delete their comment first).   BHolzer is exactly the kind of individual  Jackson Palmer was talking about when he left the DOGE project.   Bros sitting around waiting to get rich.  It's not even fun to troll this thread about this any more, i really feel bad for some of you now, who seem to really have believed this cat, like Brian.  Oh well, keep calm and whatever on.  Can't get much worse from here, right?
32  Economy / Economics / Re: New rebublic Liberland to accept BTC as currency on: April 26, 2015, 09:34:56 PM

Yeah,  who knew creating an entire country was little more than declaring you own something that is in dispute between other claimants, and sketching some SimCity pictures on top of it before 'the world'  can catch up to your cunning ambition?   Check and mate,  statists!  Now if you will kindly hurry up and recognize us in your little club you can waste no time getting us the dirty banker development and investment money you obviously are dying to spend here so we can build this shit and show you how independent we are from your antiquated systems and mouldering ideals.
33  Economy / Economics / Programmable currency is not fungible currency. y/n? on: April 26, 2015, 07:30:47 PM
Being able to differentiate behavior of coin A to another coin B ("coin"  being a unit of any so-called programmable currency such as bitcoin, but this proposition is not bitcoin-specific), in a persistent way, means coins A and B have different utility, are no longer functionally interchangeable, and therefore are worth different things to different users.  This breaks fungibility.

Alternatively, if programming is not persistent across transactions, it has no memory (apart from the most rudimentary unique identity, such as a serial number) and thus is not "programmable" but "able to be tracked by something else".  This makes the coin no different than any current electronic payment system where external, programmable scaffolding (in the form of off-ledger memory and logic) is used to track, route, and generally superimpose conditional behavior onto the currency.

Are fungible currency and programmable currency mutually exclusive concepts?

That would be a beautiful thing.  I would take even 5,000 sat.
Gonna be no problem, it's already starting  Shocked
https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-UTC

But anyone can still get in now  Cool

While it's nice to see the price rise there needs to be way more volume to sustain any appreciable uptrend. .34 BTC will not get the job done.

You should look at Cryptsy's volume,  3-4x   what is on trex.

You have a software platform that allows you to share trades and analysis with other traders? Other than tradingview, which doesn't really have support for alts? Please direct me to that platform as I would love to use it.

What is that 370,000,000 NOBL wallet that combined 3 100mil and 1 70mil wallets? Is that actually a person or is that reserve?
have a link to it?
I'd guess one of the exchanges

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nobl/address.dws?10402.htm

16.61% of all coins in that one wallet.

It's probably Cryptsy, I saw that wallet consolidate from several smaller ones right around the time they said they were fixing the NOBL wallet on their site.   They need to fix it some more!

On top 10 list, only  two addresses are staking, 5 and 10.
Good news for the rest of us.  Cheesy

Yes that's gone unnoticed by a lot of people who think NOBL is "over".  They aren't looking at the message between the lines which can be seen from the richlist and block explorer data.  With the change in coins minted per day plus the blockchain switch causing a lot of old addresses to be revealed as abandoned due to no staking happening, NOBL just had its scarcity increase by 3-4x at least!   This will draw attention to it as the price can only go up over time.  What does that mean?  Most important, price appreciation is like a Free ongoing press release for the Noble Movement.  Second, it creates value and interest for stakers and third, it attracts money from average traders who don't care about what the coin does but just want to try their luck at speculation.  They are leeches but their money is still money.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Blockchains are Gears, does a proveable gear train exist? on: March 23, 2015, 07:34:21 PM
I like the idea of this analogy, but I don't think I can imagine the analogy between a blockchain and a gear.  By design, a gear is a piece of a larger system and does nothing at all by itself.  A blockchain is designed to be a complete system all by itself.

But here we run into more analogy trouble immediately.

What is a 'blockchain' in this analogy:  is it
  • the file stored on disk containing transactions?
  • a single wallet node transacting with a network of other nodes?
  • the entire network of all nodes in the abstract sense?
  • is it the entire network of all nodes, PCs, network links between them?
  • Or is it all of those things in the previous line *plus* the community of human users making rational decisions to run the nodes/miners, pay for the cooling, the connectivity, the power, and choosing to invest their time in it all?

And that is it:
PROFIT: There has to be some form of automation in your strategy. So I advise that, after you have built a position that you are satisfied with, take 50% of that position and sprinkle it on the sell side. (Keep all sell orders as small as possible – below 0.1 BTC – so that your orders don’t increase upward resistance)These orders should be placed for a 40 – 50% gain. The other half of your position will be liquidated incrementally as the market continues to rise.

This video shows how you should be executing trades

THIS WEEKS MOVERS
These coins all provide opportunity for above average profit

cool of your to post this.

and as expected, that's funny given "ryan pumper" news....i check most of those main coins he posted (the 1st four) and they're all ALREADY up in price, TOO LATE for ppl to buy in once he sends out the message LOL YEAH THANKS LET ME BUY YOUR PUMPED COINS YOU'RE SELLING TO YOUR FOLLOWERS AND THE PUBLIC.  Roll Eyes since he's already accumulated.  sure you may get in JUST when he msg's you and see a bit of profit, but nowhere near what he claims in % or says you will.  you can see bots working those coins still (his of course) and well, you better hope they keep going up the rest of the week, otherwise you're bagholding with the rest.

That's because he's not pumping anything except bullshit lol.  Standard wannabe baller type of twitter trader who finds a coin that's already been quietly pumped by others and tries to announce it as if he was responsible for the price rise.  Phonies like this are a dime a dozen.   Next...

Cryptsy has restored the NOBL wallet. But generating a deposit address doesn't work!   It returns a "general error" message, no specific info and no deposit address.

Time for a ticket update.
