Once upon a time I thought there was something happening with this community, and I didn't realize TrollByFire was hired help

That was your own error. Don't pass the responsibility for your own lack of intellectual ability on to somebody else.

This statement is a bit of an inaccuracy.  I was never "hired help".  I was always a volunteer.  I was never paid for my work and never asked for compensation of any kind  (aside from the original bounty for a linux wallet which was never received.)  If you go back and re-read the first few pages of this thread, you can see the story of how I joined unfold for yourself.

I don't care how you were compensated, the point of that comment was that you were not the original dev, but someone brought on to help after the fact because the original "dev" found out that there's a lot more to making a new coin than forking some other shitcoin and changing a logo.

I frankly have no idea if you are competent or not at this point, but as you seem to be neutral and possibly also wise enough to back out of this circus I don't have any beef with you at all.

I will clarify one point that you misunderstood, understandably since you have your FUD glasses on when reading my post and cannot see anything that doesn't look like FUD to you.

The whitepaper marketing scam is not referring to the supposed whitepaper coming out for *this* coin.  It refers to the overall altcoin gimmick of writing up a "whitepaper"  that 2 or 3 people will read,  everyone else will say they read,  and if examined by a serious reviewer, would fall apart halfway through anyway.

They are a special kind of marketing gimmick for people who like to tell themselves they are not investing in a straight up casino game, but something that has "a whitepaper" and therefore is legit.

This is not at all unique to LiteCoinDark, but it's all the more comical when applied to it.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LTCD] LitecoinDark.com ★ Scrypt ★ Difficulty Shield ★ Multipool ★ Fast on: November 27, 2014, 12:23:48 AM
no going to requote vicvelcro's huge 100% content-free wall of excuses, "yeah buts" and reiterations. Vic, you put an admirable amount of effort into saying nothing. Enjoy the brownie points that got you with the rest of the HODLers, they will fade fast.

Go ahead and get all the hopeful bagholders to come to your side, I know this will end with me being called a troll, fudster,  etc.  See also:  every single other shitcoin board when the emperor is shown to have no clothes.  It won't help your price.

Only progress - not gaseous talk about maybe progress -  but actual progress, will help.    And nobody involved with this coin has the chops to accomplish that. Anyone who does is already busy working on non-joke coins with actual futures.

since we're talking about devs, i am still wondering something and want to clear this up for myself.
was Troll the only dev developping the coins code or is litecoindark dev also coding?
It felt that only Troll was coding but I could be wrong ofcourse.

 I'm not for sure but think Litecoindark dev started the core and Trollbyfire was rewriting codes for the 2.0. Someone else may know more about this.

I'm just wondering why he can't implement/improve/continue Trolls work, why do they need another dev to implement stuff, for example the stealth/POS/anon msg'ing and now prolly the 2.0 stuff.
Unless i'm completly overlooking something?

This coin is a scammy, noob-bait name, that is all.  It's got nothing to do with either LiteCoin nor Dark.  Sounds like something a stoner made up to make himself have a giggle fit.  Whooooa dude, what if there was "LiteCoin"  but it was.. like  "Dark" too.  Mystical!  whoaaa

There wasn't and still isn't a designated lead dev who is an actual coder, the "dev"  who started it cannot code past a high school level and needs others to finish the job for him/her.  This results in chaos, revolving door "development"  and real devs stay far away from here because they know its a waste of time at best.    All you see going on is pumps from people trying to get out of their coins with as minimal loss as possible, trying to entice bots and suckers who don't bother to read the forums to see that there is no "there" there.  If people want to see it hit 1000 sats, let alone 3000,  then someone who has a lot of stake in this coin (1m +) and the most to gain / lose, needs to approach coders on other projects who know what they are doing.  Screw the whitepaper marketing scam, everyone knows that is all that is now.  Website can be minimal, nobody really cares as long as its not a 404 page.  Get 2.0 done.   But I am wasting my keyboard's lifetime here. This is about as likely to happen as a resurrection of Mt.Gox.

Sounds like your Mad now ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=760143.msg9623635#msg9623635  ) When the shit was going down where were you. What side are you on, whole time you were saying how great things are, now ur flip flopping. I think maybe ur part of a pump and dump team. when things wasn't being done right, you had no comment. Now that they are trying to get the coin and the development back on track, you screaming scam. Back the fudge off! We been thou this already, give the guys a break, are you reading any of the replys.

Once upon a time I thought there was something happening with this community, and I didn't realize TrollByFire was hired help,  thought he was the main dev from the beginning.  Later on I figured out the story and now the non-progress completely makes sense.   Nobody has enough to gain by helping to dev this coin, and its already a joke that went much farther than it should have, so that reputation just adds baggage to the weight already there from lack of progress.   I am here to point out the obvious, and in case ppl come by wondering whats up with the coin,  they can see how a supporter turned into  a critic by the dev process being such a mess.  I'm long out of this coin,  just here as a cautionary tale.

You do realize that no one is forcing you to stay..
And to be honest, you are the only one who sounds like a "stoner".

Nothing that looks like Litecoin?
Litecoin = Scrypt
LitecoinDark = Scrypt
Litecoin =  PoW
LitecoinDark = PoW
Litecoin = No more dev work.
LitecoinDark = New devs that are getting for PoS, they are trying to learn how to make the 2.0 and getting things moving.

But since you complain so much, then why not use time yourself on making a coin, using 14 months on getting 2.0 gen code written and implomented.
What about you use 5-12 hours a day on working for the coin and making sure the community is happy?

Remember you also have a family, a job and a shit ton of other IRL stuff to deal with at the same time.

Now, go cry in a corner about the money you lost because you have weak hands and cant wait for something to happen.

>Litecoin = Scrypt
>LitecoinDark = Scrypt
>Litecoin =  PoW
>LitecoinDark = PoW

You are seriously comparing the coins based on traits they both share with 100 other shitcoins?  You are better off comparing them based on their names.

The claim stands.  "LiteCoinDark"  is and always has been nothiing more than a feebleminded attempt to cash in on the fad of tacking "Dark"  on to a generic shitcoin and hoping people don't look very closely.

It actually worked for a while, which is impressive only in how it reveals how easily gamed the simpleminded thought process of the average altcoin trader is.  But even the dimmest bulbs laugh at this coin these days.  I guess that's a kind of fame, maybe positioning it as being a joke "on purpose" could get it back to 300 sats.   lol.  not.

well we have to ask ourselves they used the premine for a new dev who was never introduced and Xircom says he still holds 500 thousand coins wow he was mining a million a day so he just might as well say he dumped big time lol and for a pr what did he do hmmm. Then says he will check in time to time wow thanks for the support lmao. I just feel like I was played for the work that I did to get the coin on sites and promote it but I still believe in this crypto and will continue to hold for the long run. We have a great community and thanks for the people standing up and taking on the challenge. Smiley

Voodoo1967, facts please. How do you think I mined 1 mil coins a day.... At the highest point I had 1.1 mil, but sold some and bought some. I still got half of my coins, so please do not put out non facts !!!
What do you mean by support, im still here and I havent left anything. I will still provide needed support, but if you keep up putting out shit like you use to, I do not see any reason why I should stay..... Ahhh..... that was so nice to be able to say what I feel, something I haven't been able to do for months.

Yeah no doubt you didnt mine a mill a day. My questions (not that you have any obligation to answer) are, over what time period did you sell the half million coins, price when you started selling, and price after. Mostly out of curiosity tbh Tongue

Fair question.  I have sold and bought and sold a good portion at around the 1000 satoshi mark,  so I would have some btc to put in buy walls if price went further down. Now there is no need for me to use more of my own btc stash to put in buy walls. But since I did put big buy walls at the 22-2100 and 1500 satoshi,  I personally have spend more of my htc than I gained.. Hopefully one day we get to the 3000 satoshi again and then I would be able to get some of my btc back…

A good start would be to make the nonsense name of this coin mean what it says.  The "Dark"  doesn't have anything to do with stealth or anon, the coin does not have these features at all. Is that supposed to be a joke?  This coin is the posterboy for what's wrong with the alt market.  Cheap talk everywhere, 5 or 6 dev who know what they are doing whose efforts are tarnished by 1000 wannabes who just finished high school computer class and learned how to download from Git and compile and want a quick buck.

Finally this ridiculous coin is going to die.  Dumping hard,  I am outta there!   Wake me up when  the "D"  in LTCD  stands for something other than "Dump!"

Former Mad Beach resident checking in.  "city" is a bit of a stretch for this little street of condos and a few odd 7-11's connecting clearwater and TI - isn't it?  Still, much love for my old stomping grounds there.  Very surprised to see anything Bitcoin related in that little blink-and-you-miss-it section of Gulf Blvd.

anyway it is a new beginning for LTCD
so why not start from the bottom

Can someone point out to me an example of a coin that exchanged devs and succeeded?

I know that Worldcoin had a complete exchange of devs and total control was passed onto their community and they are doing very well so far!!

They changed the logo... The website... Created a new look overall... Organized into a committee just as we are doing... Got new developers... Just as we are doing... I have seen this all before so that's why I am holding!!

Cheers,

Ghosty

Exactly, a great team is going to take over LitecoinDark. I have spoken with the new team and they have great plans for the future. I really don't know why there is so big panic going on.

The coin is definitely cheap now.  Almost as cheap as talk!
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LTCD] LitecoinDark.com ★ Scrypt ★ Difficulty Shield ★ Multipool ★ Fast on: November 22, 2014, 07:06:24 PM
Lesson learned.

THERE IS NO LONG TERM HOLDING IN CRYPTO.  You buy/sell make some and move to next.  Promises are empty.  Identities are unknown.  No proof of anyone doing something, besides people who try to help and give their time for free doing logos and videos.

Crypto is the perfect place to bring the hopeful types and the harmful types into direct economic contact with each other under the darkness of anonymity.   Guess who wins in this arrangement?

oh yeah. I finally sold my SHIT LTCD coins. I finally sold it to the wretched f~cking shit.
People - a fucking scam. Everyone who comes to this topic - do not even try to read carefully and look for some information.
I as a member of the community (you can see on the main page) declare that the developers are halfwits fucked in all respects.
The level of programming skills is a multiple of 1 main course Developer Technical University, and the level of human qualities 16 years of polygamous teenager. To fuck you! I spent so much time and money to watch you nothing did not and give all the third party.
You main developer? You even can not insert an icon in pissing purse, even info for /About/ replace can not. Clown and you are not a programmer.
Do you even fucking site could not impose a month. MONTH (Oh God, how I laugh). 2 gen cryptocurrency fucking. You pissing forum transferred week. God, I am a web designer and you speak better programming than you. I am sorry.

This coin has nothing except the name, the herds have believed hamsters disputes and blunt armless developer.
Interviews and conversations show off, and it seems that there is something valuable. But in fact, the main developer - not a developer. This maximalist school, which is not responsible for their words and who can not even install the blockchain on the VPS. It is not surprising that you DDoS. You're a fucking idiot who wastes people's time! A person generally trollbyfire nowhere that even describe the essence of his work and a half months can not.
Empty promises, irrational statements level of school age, 1000% irresponsible attitude, 1000% complete incompetence (just totally, my grandmother programs the better), disrespect to the community, based on their own selfish purposes.

To fuck you! pissing developers - if you want to experiment or study, do it in your virtual machine or server and not waste people's time! Students fucking fuck!

Content and agreement/disagreement aside, this is one of the most spectacular and entertaining rants I've read in a good while.

Does anyone have a list of the current, non-splintered threads for BlackCoin in BCT  right now?  It's hard to tell which one is the most current, tho it seems to be this one?  There's a lot of selling after such a long idle drift downward but not much discussion about it.  Cryptorush BC theft being liquidated maybe?  Just spitballing here.

Edit to above:   apparently this is down?   http://www.blackcointalk.com/

Yes the site was abandoned by the original owner. We mostly use reddit now and blkfeed.com forum for separate threads

Is BlackCoin on its way out of the top 20 overall?  I can't tell if this is a good profit opportunity (to buy in low) or a good popcorn opportunity (to watch it burn all the way down)... I always thought BC had really good ideas, but not such a great name. Same goes for NightTrader which sounds a little too close to Night Train (if you are in the USA you may know what that is).  But... I'll say the name was perfect for the climate BC was started in, when alt buzz was was all anon this and stealth that for awhile.
