261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN][FCK] ★FCKBANKS REBORN ★(New Devs and team) ★ on: March 06, 2014, 01:43:46 AM
wd love to see this coin take off in more places but it's limited in appeal only to folks with an axe to grind against banks.  which is fine, banks deserve some hate, but it's not a super wide net to cast.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN][FCK] ★FCKBANKS REBORN ★(New Devs and team) ★ on: February 27, 2014, 10:18:26 PM
GO HOME YOU ARE DRUNK . Too much premine ! 3% . This is a SCAM !

This is an extremely rude comment - especially as the DEVS and FCKS community are working so hard to make this a solid long term non pump and dump coin. There are tons of coins like one I know with 50% or 100% premine and they are doing awesome. Plus the fact that 3% premine is going towards bounties and development so what's your problem? READ THE ANN THREADS PROPERLY before passing judgement thanks!! Undecided

Not defending the OP who apparently still thinks premine always means the same thing it did 4 months ago, but just pointing out that a coin named "FCK" should expect to be targeted by incoming snarkmissles from time to time.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RE-ANN][FCK] ★FCKBANKS REBORN ★(New Devs and team) ★ on: February 24, 2014, 10:21:49 PM
the short version is this: if you are worried about the 'price' of fckbanks short term you can fck off

i suggest that any number of the pump and dump coins might be more your speed

People who think that a coin with dev and community support as good as FCK but still impossibly low priced at 1-2 sats is a bad deal should quit alt crypto now before they get hurt.  FCK is as good of a gamble as altcoins get right now.  Where else can a 1 sat move gain 50%?  Throw on some multipool defenses and reward halving, a tipbot which would be hilarious to use, and it will attract the right kind of attention to grow.  Even without the message it promotes.

Go after LTC miners and believers first.  LTC value is really on the ropes right now, as it is tied to BTC's fortunes more than any other alt.  Litecoin people are similar minded to Vertcoin people IMHO, they offer a good and more ready adoption possibility short term, there are a *lot* of them, and to grow Vertcoin needs to take and hold the biggest neighboring hills before taking on the mountain.

The beautiful irony of Trollcoin is that any criticism of Trollcoin feeds the trolls.

Thus Trollcoin is invincible and wins the internet.

My thoughts exactly. Please feed the army.

I just saw the screen caps from their own irc channel.

Cryptorush have somehow lost the wallet dats and they can't link the coins they have to which users own them. 2000 BTC worth.

Looks like Wolong himself just got Wolonged   Cheesy

First the UNO pump fake that spiraled out of control, now this?   Grabbing me some more popcorn, this is really getting interesting.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin-Adaptive N-factor Scrypt-No more ASICs-[EXCHANGES/AMAZON/ATM/MERCHANTS] on: February 15, 2014, 11:16:32 AM
So looks like Pandacoin blatantly ripped off VTC.

It's going to be a gorgeous pump n dump.  Hell, the launch is already a fiasco of premine/IPO manipulation bullshit.

I love how they're bragging that VTC's hash rates are dropping while their's are rising.  They don't seem to understand that Verters are simply taking a break while the top shelf is restocked and having a quick drink at the keg.

also loving the emergency damage control wolong has to throw out there to hide the fact that his UNO pre-pump acquisition cycle was cashed in on by someone else before he could get in front of it.  When you have to dump 400+ UNOs to put out a fire that cost 15 UNO to start, you are not in control, you are in damage control.  PandaCoin itself is now getting cloned and re-cloned to undermine it, and he's now claiming he is doing the cloning... I forsee maybe one more successful pump out of him before he jumps the shark like fontas and all the others who cannot keep their mouth shut once they get one big success.

BITGEMS.  THIS explains EVERYTHING.

Looks like price is dropping again.

Why do people keep putting up sell orders when the price is rising?

Phase 1:  Acquire Uno cheaply

Phase 2:
Quote
keep putting up sell orders when the price is rising

Phase 3: Profit!!

TrollCoins are not mined directly, they are minted from raw Noobium ore which is mined from caverns deep within the ButtHurt mountains

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=464476.0

wtf another pandacoin clone clone? I think it's safe to say we'll be safe from these jokers for a while.

This one is being promoted by the guy who leads all the big pumps on DOGE, but he probably is not going to see lightning strike twice.   Doge made him money, not the other way around, but he doesn't see it that way.

This will probably end up like ultracoin.
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GameCoin (GME) - Current version = v0.8.4.2 on: February 14, 2014, 09:48:43 AM
Where is all the hashrate coming from? The Diff. is 1.47 and yet I can't find a single pool with more than 2-5000 KH/s on.  Huh

There is a multi pool out there that will hit it when the dif get too low. Usually 100+ MH will come in ~ 1.2 ish

Do you know which one it is?  I didn't think GME was picked up on any mp radar any more.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unobtanium: Updated 0.9.2 Build Available NOW + Faucet Fixed! on: February 14, 2014, 01:18:55 AM
That was fucked >.< Price just dropped a ton when the buy support got weak.

More $$$ for me when I see some buy support.

it appears a 15 Uno total buy-in at around 0.028 tripped the follow-on frenzy.

Wolong plans to take UNO to 0.1 BTC price with 10K of BTC firepower https://twitter.com/GameOfDeception/status/433787542840684544  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
this is called the pump.

a month from now?  that's a slow burn.. is he waiting to cash out from all the olympics coverage of the dog first?
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 12, 2014, 09:20:30 AM
Honest question time gang.

Why would someone ever "keep the price down" for any coin, by dumping it?

Doesn't that mean they *own a lot of that coin* in order to be able to dump it?

Why would they benefit from this when they can just wait till it rises as high as it can and *then* dump it?

Doesn't it make a lot more sense to assume that this "VTC hater"  is not being irrational and evil, but is just one of the early bigger VTC miners or else someone who bought a boatload of it at 10 Satoshi or whatever, and is now milking all the people in the market for easy and huge profit?

I don't think there needs to be a conspiracy to explain this, just plain old profit taking off the lower levels of the pyramid.

Regardless, they can't have an infinite supply of it.  They'll sell out of their stash sooner or later and then it might move again, if people haven't lost interest in VTC by then.

Nope, you are wrong here, now i'm typing this on my ipad so i'll keep it short.

They are keeping the price low by trading very small amounts of vtc with themselves and they keep going a little lower every time they do it. When they decide enough people are panicking and panick-selling they will buy up all the cheap VTC. when they do this everyone sees the price is going up again and they'll just go with the flow and start pumping it again. Then when the people that bought the vtc when it was cheap enough to them will just wait untill the price is high enough again, (10-30% profit) and then just sell it all again, making the price drop again.

They'll just keep repeating this process for easy profit.

It's called market manipulation and is illegal in normal stock/fiat markets.

Why can't everyone use the same strategy and neutralize this then?   Also (I dont use Cryptsy so I don't know how they charge) doesn't selling to oneself cost trading fees?

Aren't you just angry because it's not rising to a particular price that _you_ want to sell it at, and once you do there will be other people angry that "some fucker is keeping VTC down" at .006 BTC (or whatever their magic number is)?

Doesn't it make a lot more sense to assume that this "VTC hater"  is not being irrational and evil and trying to damage VTC, but is really just one or more of the early bigger VTC miners or someone who bought a boatload of it at 10 Satoshi or whatever, and is now very rationally choosing to milk all the later adopters in the market for easy and huge profit? By the way I own some VTC above the current price so I am having to wait this out like everyone else.

I don't think there needs to be a conspiracy to explain this, just plain old profit taking by higher levels of the pyramid taking it out of the lower levels.

Regardless of why they are doing it, the other fact is that they can't have an infinite supply of it to just sell forever at this rate, (unless they are some kind of massive mining farm, and even then it's not profitable forever).
They'll sell out of their stash sooner or later and then it might move again, if people haven't lost interest in VTC by then.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 12, 2014, 05:59:50 AM
price never seems to grow. all follow cryptsy and there some fuck all the time pull down price. it's awful.
maybe it was someone from the team doge

If you want to feel a little better, look at what's happened to MAX.  Though it's fair to say MAX deserves a beating.

I'm pretty poor atm so can only donate 1 vtc but I want to confirm which is the most important thing people are donating to right now?

Hey, any donation makes a difference. Even if its 0.001 or 1 vtc. Any amount is a help to the community, and this in turns benefits you as well!

I suggest this: http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/1xkbh5/over_1000_in_vtc_donated_to_the_african_well/

Its in partnership with doge and its for a water well in Africa. Its also good for the community because it will gain media exposure.

If anybody has other suggestions please post it, its important we circulate some Vtcs to help us grow

The Doges dig the well, the Vertans help it fill up.  Cooperation is the new coin!
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 11, 2014, 08:45:07 PM

Pandacoin looks better than Altcoin, but that premine.. Also nothing really new compared to vert. They have the backup of Woolong apparently though. We'll see.

im pretty scared right now, i left doge and now its skyrocketing, joined vert and now its tanking, and in 3 days there will be a vertclone with better backing. i dont know what needs to be done

If you think a big anonymous investor calling himself "Wolong" and manipulating prices is a better backing then leave Vertcoin too...

be less bm, considering how you have 15 posts youre probably new to this too, im stivking with vertcoin, i just dont kno what will happen to this market.

Doge also has a non-dynsfunctional community 'feel' absolutely nailed.
It boils down to two traits:

1. Take your actions (as a community) seriously
2. Don't take yourselves (as a community) seriously

Sadly with all the money building in DOGE #2 is getting less and less followed, which will unravel everything they've accomplished if they don't see this problem coming.  They don't always follow #1 either, but on balance they hit this sweet spot of "doing useful stuff without getting all uptight about it" most of the time.

"Convert" (the noun) means someone who has come to believe in something. I think there is no reason to be worried about 'con' in the negative sense for a coin that is clearly not a scam.

Have you ever talked to random people outside of your circle about it? If anything people think crypto is a get-rich quick scam. I have even heard the term "pyramid scheme" from several highly educated people.

I'm thinking Convert in this sense applies to people who converted to Vertcoin from other alts because they like Vert's advantages and the fact that its not a scamcoin or promoted by well known scammers.  From other alts and Bitcoin itself is where most of the next wave of early adopters are going to going to come from, so it fits the message.  People outside crypto are not going to be aware of VertCoin for a long time.  Whatever, I like the name because it's catchy and doesn't take itself too seriously.  Don't be so defensive about the whole "pyramid scheme" BS that applies to all crypto as a whole. Really, people who are thinking crypto is a scam are going to think it's a scam no matter what words we use so we might as well use ones that are fun.  They'll come around eventually.  And become Converts!
