It had a scammy vibe to it from the get go. Exposed in one day.

Beta is out. https://augur.net/What can I say the UI is very disappointing! I sincerely hope this will be improved on actual release!

I understand the value and importance of a decentralised blockchain. But the most important blockchain > Bitcoin is becoming more and more centralised.
I could assume a centralised GoogleChain with it's own mega servers can do IOT/dapps jobs. The masses would be fine with that I think.
I could be wrong ofcourse...

this useless azure hype is getting out of hand.
and what exaclty is stopping MS (a major software developer) to come up with their own coin/system instead of picking some open source newbie coin? I was also thinking about this for a while, but I think mayor companies (Microsoft, Google, Amazon) don't want open sourced decentralised crypto projects because they can go lead a life of it's own, they can't be regulated. And potentially damage the brand name.

I think a great aspect about no mining is the environmental aspect. The 0tx is a great but I also wonder what the incentive would be to process transactions, perhaps it is already explained somewhere.

@CfB Are the adresses in the genesis (block) final? Could you post the adresses again, can't seem to find them anymore. Thanks

OK, i am going to sell my precious IOTA instantly cause i am so convinced of the project. lol.
I owned 0.8% of all IOTA and still own 0.7%. I think distribute it further can make the remaining 0.4% to a higher success. I want to keep between 3-4 Million in the long term. We are currently in an Altcoin Bull Market which will be bigger than the last one around 2013/2014. With the Bitcoin I receive I can speculate in other interesting ICOs like eMunie and make the amount even bigger. In the current market environment I can easily make 300 Bitcoin out of the 90. If you doubt my Engagement in IOTA you probably have overseen the actions I have taken since November to bring IOTA to a success. I even contacted companies to convince them (Bosch for example or Bitcoin 21 projects). I think I work around 1-2 hours a day to bring IOTA up the curve. Would be great if the other whales would do this, but this is not the case. Getting more people involved is the right strategy, great work! I would also sell some to create larger userbase, but I don't have millions... The more people using iota the better!

Usually people that don't understand the potential and significance of certain ideas/ developments tend to call it scams.

The contest takes to long..., the attention span of people is short, they lose interest. Escrow would be great.
All they need to do is drop a design here and claim the prize later if they win. Also, since the guys above thought the Terracoin logo contest was a joke and the coins not worth anything, apparently people here don't take it seriously enough to even need an escrow. We are taking it seriously, will send the coins, and also probably end up just making a new logo ourselves and saving the coins for another bounty if people aren't going to submit designs. Hey man, I am giving you an explenation why designers , like myself, aren't submitting designs. I have never said that the contest is a joke. Please try to have an open mind when people are giving their opinion. I am. I'm just trying to figure out what attention span has to do with submitting a logo design. Just don't listen... Anyway you got your logo, just took you a couple of minutes...(looks a bit like factom though) You didn't even have to start a contest

Anyone that still ... Anyone that still ... Do you understand that making your post bigger and posting the exact same thing over and over again using multiple accounts does not make you or it any more credible? In fact the opposite. Hit the Quote button > copy the text > Reply > paste the text Cool avatar! Can you make the same with IOTA and Ethereum ? Sure man, send it to you via Pm. Tomorrowish

Whatever, this is not about YOU. Its just a general advice for everyone willing to trade.
Cool, but like I said before, when I look at these escrow providers on BTT they appear to me little more than Legendary members who have garnered trust over time. Is that a fair description or am I missing something? There is a conflict in interest. It is good practice to use an escrow, a trustworthy third party.

Got - WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Redownloaded the blockchain and issue persists. Wonder if it is the same vulnerability that needs patching what happened to PPC a few months ago?
This situation seems to have resolved itself. Had the same thing, you just let it run?

While I understand the logic behind that reasoning it's not the best one, if people are going to hoard the tokens the ecosystem won't grow...
From the other point of view if price skyrocket you can get free media attention. Media attention brings you more deals and ease to close old ones. Shortterm maybe, but in the long run adoption is key, getting people involved.

I'm still offering to do a free escrow service using 2-of-3 multisig addresses.
Got 1 going now.
You have 0 trust. I would suggest using OgNasty for escrow. A lot of people here know me. People are free to use whomever they choose, I just like supporting iota. Although this does seem like a good time to mention all the money I returned to the crowdsale investors on the Nxt AE when my asset didn't raise enough funds: https://nxtforum.org/assets-board/(ann)-panamacafe-coffee-farm-in-panama/OK man. Point taken. OgNasty just has a big reputation when it to escrow.
