There is supposed to be news about exchange listings by the end of the week. I am looking forward to see what will happen.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Beginner-friendly-coins"? on: February 21, 2018, 10:28:06 AM

You are totally right, there is no difference between "expensive" and "cheap" coins if they both grow by 10%. But there is one other thing. Cheap coins tend to fluctuate more often because of how humans react to cheaper prices. When a new person in crypto compares ripple and bitcoin, ripple definitely seems more attractive as it looks "cheaper".

I have tried following what coins get pumped every day for a week and noticed that most of them are with a price less than $1. A good example of that can be seen in this topic, where people recommend coins that are "cheaper" even though they have massive supplies.

As for the author, I recommend doing a research on all of the top 10 coins, because they are a lot safer than any other coin. And if you expect to get a return with having as little risk as possible from your investment you have to do your own research and try to evaluate whether the coin is worth your investment.
[/quote]

Do you really think that this psychological aspect has that much impact? This may be the case for newbies, since they will believe that a coin is “cheap”. These however would usually not have a big impact on price, since they tend to invest small amounts.

Couldn’t the pump that you observed have different reasons? Coins that have less holders or market capitalisation are more susceptible to market manipulation, since it will require less capital to influence the price. So these coins are more likely to be pumped (and dumped) than others.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Beginner-friendly-coins"? on: February 21, 2018, 07:38:27 AM
Can someone explain to me why a coin that costs below 1 $ should be a better investment than a coin that costs e.g $ 100? I don’t see how a cheap coin has more potential to increase it’s price than an expensive one. If both grow by 10% you get equal ROI. I also don’t see how a “penny coin” has more growth potential. Most of them are relatively cheap since they have massive supply or are focusing on a niche. I think it is a common misconception that you should invest small amounts in “penny coins”. You just need to look at penny stocks and they don’t outperform blue chips.

What you should really consider are the transaction costs of some cryptos like BTC, which could eat up your small investment once you transfer from an exchange to your wallet. The great thing about cryptos as compared to stocks is that you can also invest into fractions of a coin. So if you like an “expensive” crypto just buy it. It’s more about finding a god project than anything else.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Coins in the Market, Must Buys! on: February 19, 2018, 06:43:26 PM
I would suggest POLY. The coin was airdropped just recently and is now already amongst the top 70 on CoinMarketCap.

I don’t see why JC should be a scam. I think everybody who has at least some brain will realise what this coin is really about - fun.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs in the field of security tokens on: February 19, 2018, 07:23:55 AM
With the regulations that are comming in 2018 those are gonna be the next big thing! While the most of the coins will become illegal to trade those are going to be the only to survive and i guess some others coins will consider on getting centralized so that they stay in the game!
The revolutionary ideas of the crypto wold are comming to their end, and lets shake are heads and answer this:

Did anybody really believe they gonna let us do this, I mean loose the whole POWER game just like that? hahaha be realist common

already invested a lot now that is early!

Good to see that there are also others that believe in this approach. Judging from the price of POLY, market also seems to believe in it. It is already trading at 1,45 up from 0,6.

Does anyone have recommendations for other security token related investments? I would be interested in diversifying.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polymath Scam: Stay Away! on: February 19, 2018, 06:10:22 AM
Both me and my wofe got succesful registration. Be patient this is big

How is going to get big when they are asking a lot for their participants, kyc is a big no-no the consensus tells us that Kyc is a big no-no in the cryptocurrency industry, only a small is going to participate here and until the dev finds out it's useless to implement that KYC

In order to buy the POLY token on exchanges you don’t need to complete KYC, it was only for those who wanted to participate in the airdrop. The platform will require KYC for people who wish to invest there. So those who participated in the airdrop should already be cleared for that purpose.

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ICOs in the field of security tokens on: February 17, 2018, 07:51:56 AM
I recently invested in Polymath (POLY) and Bnk to the Future (BFT). POLY didn't even organise an ICO but only an airdrop, which was very successfull. BFT sold out within 150 seconds during their public sale. While both of them are utility tokens, they are designed to power platforms that are in the security tokens business.

Polymath (https://www.polymath.network/:

They are building a platform on which companies will be able to launch their own security tokens. Here is what they are planning to do on their platform according to their white paper:

1. Provide a decentralized protocol for trading security tokens.

2. Enable individuals and institutions to authenticate their identity, residency,
and accreditation status to participate in a wide range of security
token offerings (STOs).

3. Allow legal delegates to bid on new issuances to represent issuers on
offerings to be done in a regulatory compliant manner.

4. Match issuers with developers who can translate issuers’ Security Offering
parameters into secure code that generates ERC20 compatible tokens.

POLY will be the token to power all these activites, e.g. whenever a company offers a KYC service on the platform or provides legal advice.

BTF (https://bnktothefuture.com/):

They will launch a platform on which investors will be able to trade their equity in the form of security tokens.  The BTF token will be used to power community based activites on the platform such as reviewing companies and providing timely updates on them. This should allow them to scale their existing procedures, which are now centralized and thus very time consuming. BTF is already a very well established actor in the crypto space.

BTF and POLY have also partnered. Here is an interesting article that describes their partnership and the differences between them: https://www.finder.com.au/polymath-and-bnktothefuture-partner-for-asset-tokenisation

I personally believe that securitiy tokens hand in hand with regulatory compliance are the way forward for cryptos. I would thus be interested to hear what you think about those two projects and if you are aware of any other similar projects that work with security tokens that may be interesting to have a closer look at.

110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best exchange for beginner? on: February 16, 2018, 01:16:35 PM
An easy way to trade is Bitpanda. You can pay with your credit card an it is very easy to use. However, it is a bit expensive and only offers BTC, XRP, ETH and Litecoin.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Jesus Coin will be Nr 1 by the end of the year on: February 16, 2018, 01:06:14 PM
What is Jesus Coin doing? I do not think they can reach the number by the end of the year.

There are so many altcoins and Jesus coin cannot be better than all those altcoins.

Are there any other coins that

— are negotiating with churches to exclusively offer miracles and sin forgiveness?

— will become the de facto currency of all good Christians?

— will become the de facto currency of all bad Christians?

— provides global access to Jesus in a fast and safe way?

Well, I suppose your answer is no.

This is why Jesus Coin will be Nr. 1  Grin
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Jesus Coin will be Nr 1 by the end of the year on: February 16, 2018, 11:10:05 AM
What I am trying to understand is if the dev is still involved with the coin. On the exchange it looks like a dead coin which bagholders are trying to get rid of. No mention of Jesus Coin on coinmarketcap. I have asked here which is total supply of the coin and nobody has answered. Given these circumstances, I guess the OP is from a bagholder anxious to unload his worthless coins to the public.
But I agree its whitepaper can make your day - it made mine too.

If I remember correctly, total circulating supply is around 20B. It was mentioned in the Telegram channel. Developers are not really active on this forum.

I see. 20B in fact is an obvious amount scale for the jokecoin, but it becomes slightly unpractical when you then have your coin listed on an exchange.

I don’t quite understand what you are saying regarding exchanges. Could you please explain? I am quite new to crypto and thus always eager to learn.

By the way, I am not into JC because I want to make money, but because the project is good fun.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE OR LITECOIN on: February 16, 2018, 10:48:39 AM
if for the long term I suggest to buy ripple, because reportedly there will be a lot of good news about ripple

That’s exactly the reason why I would also go with XRP.

Lord, the best ICO I've ever seen  Grin Grin I'm definitely in

You can get your hands on some JC in their Telegram group, since they do regular airdrops. Apart from that you can buy on Etherdelta  Wink
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese New Year of the Dog, and the price of Doge? on: February 16, 2018, 08:20:48 AM
I was just wondering if anyone else expects to see a rise of the price of Dogecoin today, what with it being Chinese New Year of the Dog?

I know it is traditional on Chinese New Year to give gifts of money, and I suspect some of these gifts might end up being cryptocurrency, and some of these might be Dogecoin.

Does anyone else have an idea of the kind of gifts given today, and / or the time of day they are usually given on Chinese New Year?

What a funny albeit interesting thought. If I were Chinese I would definitely give away some Dodgecoin to friends and family. That would be a way better gift than the plastic porks and mushrooms we have here in Europe. I am however certain that only very few people will have this idea. What’s more, it will be a bit difficult to present the coin as an appropriate gift, since it’s all digital. Maybe you could hand over a paper wallet that contains Dodgecoin  Grin
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying NEO on: February 15, 2018, 03:24:05 PM
I think NEO still has a lot of good news to come with projects being launched on their platform. Moreover, it has held up very well during the big dip, so if market sentiment remains positive I believe that there is still room for NEO to grow.

I can recommend Altcoinstalks to you. It is a forum that focuses on alts rather than BTC. The beauty is that they regularly organise exclusive airdrops for forum members.

If you would like to register there I would appreciate if you would use my referral link: http://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=refferals;refferedby=12783
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polymath Scam: Stay Away! on: February 15, 2018, 09:02:36 AM
kyc blah blah blah, get with it guys its the future

if u dont like kyc then dont do it we all have the choice

when the tokens reach 10$ thats 2500$ i will have got for sending a copy of my passport, seems like a gd deal to me!

I agree. It was the only option to be part of this project right from the beginning, since there was no token sale. KYC will soon be the rule rather than the exception so everybody can decide for themselves if they are willing to submit their ID or not.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Jesus Coin will be Nr 1 by the end of the year on: February 14, 2018, 08:34:47 PM
For all those who doubted that JC will bring salvation, here is the proof: JC is now listed on CoinMarketCap: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/jesus-coin/#markets

...and it is up 1000%. You should get some Jesus Coin before salvation will cost you a fortune  Grin.
