It seems as though people have not been reading the listing here.  Under shipping it clearly stated that we are not responsible for any VAT/customs fees.  I have since made that statement larger and a different color in the OP.

VAT and/or CUSTOMS FEES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER!!!  There is no way we could possibly know what EVERY country will charge you to import goods.  This is why we state that we are not responsible for these fees.

523  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest Check] 3rd Halving hidden message - NYTimes 10/Apr/20 on: September 06, 2020, 02:44:45 PM
You are reaching here trying to create hype.

"Chancellor on Brink.." genesis block message written by Satoshi

"NYTimes 09/Apr/2020 With $2.3T Injection, Fed's Plan Far Exceeds 2008 Rescue" written by some random.

Two VERY different things IMO.
Satoshi vs random person / Genesis block vs random pre halving block / A powerful message from the maker vs a fact from a copycat

I believe your 0.075BTC ask is ridiculous.  If you get $50-$100 for some random's comment, consider yourself lucky!

Hello everybody
I'm seeking help for valuing what I think might be an interesting piece of collectible related to Bitcoin's history in the upcoming future.

Everyone knows the story behind the "Chancellor on Brink.." genesis block message and the 03/Jan/2009 issue of The Times is now a highly sought-after piece
(ref. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5134423.0).

What many might have missed is, on the 11th May 2020, right before the 3rd Halving at block 629.999, another highly symbolic message was included in the blockchain, namely:

"NYTimes 09/Apr/2020 With $2.3T Injection, Fed's Plan Far Exceeds 2008 Rescue"

(ref1: https://www.coindesk.com/history-has-repeated-f2pool-explains-message-last-block-before-bitcoin-halving , ref2 : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5247708.0)

The headline is from an online article of the New York Times published on the 09/Apr/2020. The day after, the article was printed in the 10/Apr/2020 physical issue and that's what I am presenting to you today. Fascinating by this whole story, I have somehow managed to get four copies from the NYTimes back copies department.

https://ibb.co/grSPLBd
https://ibb.co/DV0JDxX
https://ibb.co/f8JvHvv
https://ibb.co/ZhgQctD

What do you think these might be valued at?
To be 100% transparent on my trains of thoughts, I have used as reference the 03/Jan/2009 Times (sold for 7.5BTC) because it was the most analogous piece I could think of, but I don't think the value is nearly as close honestly, given:

  • It's not a front page, the article is on page B4 of the Business insert.
  • The title is slightly different from the online version ("FED Puts 2.3 Trillion Behind Programs to Bolster the Economy")
  • It is still a relatively recent piece  (although I doubt anyone could now easily obtain one of these copies from the NYT since the maximum request period is over).

On the other side:
The hidden message in block 629.999 is one of the most iconic commemoration of the 3rd Halvening, a highly meaningful event for an incredible number of reasons, not least, a big Bitcoin FU to FED's monetary policy. The halving message was covered by Forbes (https://www.forbes.com/sites/colinharper/2020/05/11/bitcoins-halving-block-includes-a-message-to-remind-us-why-it-was-created/#50c8e805656a) and celebrated by the most influential Bitcoin personalities (https://twitter.com/lopp/status/1259929075902222345?s=20)

The 10/Apr/20 NYTimes issue is the physical testimony of it and as soon as Bitcoin will become the global reserve currency(Wink), I am strongly convinced all the physical commemorations of halvings will gain incredible historic and collectible appeal.

If I were to start an auction today (not said I will), I would value one of these at 1/100th of the "original Times" market value (around 0.075BTC)
Thoughts? Every feedback is highly appreciated, I am still a newbie after all. Smiley

524  Economy / Goods / Re: FOR SALE- Fitbit Versa 2 Watches on: September 06, 2020, 01:23:59 PM
How did you get these?  How can you sell them so cheap?  Why are they no boxes, charger or strap?

I have plenty more questions but I will wait for you to answer these.....
525  Economy / Goods / Re: AUTHENTIC REAL Nike Adapt BB 2.0 "Tie-Dye" Basketball Shoes SHIPPED FROM NIKE on: September 06, 2020, 01:04:56 PM

It's theft.... plain and simple!

You will be buying stolen goods, period!

There is NO WAY to justify what the OP is doing.... they would not have said anything about "getting caught" if they were no stealing the items.

If saving 20% with all the risk involved here is that important to you.... maybe you shouldn't be spending money on the shoes in the first place. Wink

Quoting the OP in to monitor changes to this SCAM:

Hey

THE GIST:

I work for Nike in the warehouse, I have been getting Nikes off the floor for past few months and have over 30 pairs and not a single chance of getting caught, these shoes are "damaged" and then "destroyed."

Send me a private message with the shoes you want that are available on the Nike.com website with link, size, and variation.

I never used BTC, had a friend help set this up for me. I hope this is the right website, and right place. lol

COST:

20% Of Retail Cost; Payable BTC ONLY

DELIVERY:

1-3 Weeks depending on volume, this is new! You will get your shoes, just depends on amount of sales. I can take 2 to 7 a week. Will ship ASAP standard delivery, will come in original packaging, untouched, unworn, brand new off the floor except "damaged. Roll Eyes""

527  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Auction] Casascius 2011 Error EARLY FUNDED graded MS-65 on: September 04, 2020, 12:39:12 PM
What's the error?
public address?

The hologram says 'Casacius' instead of 'Casascius' (the text on the background).
but I see that there're 9 letters on the picture...

background = blury part that's hard to read
foreground = the 9 letters you see

I recommend buying the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins and Crypto-Currencies Wink

531  Economy / Collectibles / Re: BalletCrypto released a new kickstarter campaign -12 wallet campaign on: September 02, 2020, 02:04:56 AM
How does that link work? Is there a package deal price, or are they all individual?

it is not a referral link or anything - its just a generic link to their kickstarter campaign that I saw on twitter.

At the very bottom there is the option to get 12 - you can mix and match it any way you want. I went with the 12 - it was 359 or 29.92 each - about $5 cheaper per wallet than their website - if they even end up putting all 12 up on the site.

I will do one of each to add to the collection - the dupe will be the ravencoin one - but they wont be exactly the same - the ravencoin one I have now is signed by Tron Black.

I played poker at Mike Tyson's house for an event and TB was at my table.... Lol.  Nice guy.  He was shocked that I was an early RVN miner.

534  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS]Litecoin Foundation LTC Blocks - LTC Block Reward - .999 Silver Card on: September 01, 2020, 12:18:44 AM
I'm starting to think that people are not reading the OP as it states how to buy these..... there are so many people asking for blocks without doing what it takes to purchase.

p.s.  The original post with all the information is on page 1.... it's actually the first post. Wink

p.p.s.  There are big red letters in the first post that says "HOW TO BUY A BLOCK"...... reading it will help.

edit:

How to purchase:

1. Reply to this thread with how many blocks you'd like to purchase.
2. Pay for the block/blocks
3. Pay for your shipping
4. Edit your purchase thread with both txids
Then minerjones will reach out for shipping information via PM.

**If steps 1 thru 4 are not completed properly, you have not purchased your block/blocks and you WILL NOT receive the PM from minerjones**
