Automated payout is now every 4 hours, not just twice a day.
222  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Simplecoin Adds 0 Fee Proportional & SMPPS Pools. 1st GG & TBX Pool as well! on: October 03, 2011, 03:03:03 PM
I wouldnt say great.. Well GG works but I had issues on multiple machines for TBX

[2011-10-03 16:03:56] PROOF OF WORK RESULT: false (booooo)

Just recently run on one of my many cpu servers.

Just make sure you're running the latest tenebrix minerd. I'll be tuning performance as much as I can, but with any new currency I expect some issues getting them pool ready.

A false PoW is just a stale or reject otherwise.
223  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Simplecoin Adds 0 Fee Proportional & SMPPS Pools. 1st GG & TBX Pool as well! on: October 03, 2011, 02:53:47 PM
GG & TBX pools are running great!

So, since the "Yay"s obviously don't mean a solved block in TBX miner, then what is it all about?
I was wondering that also.
After a little bit of watching it, I think it's an accepted share! I don't know what the rest of the crap is then. =\

Yes, it's just an accepted share. In solo mining an accepted share is a found block, in pooled mining it's a found share.

Yes, there was a payout issue with TBX. That said, it should be showing up now (All previous shares)
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What speed are your getting CPU mining TENEBRIX? on: October 01, 2011, 07:53:37 PM
Only running on my headless miner. It's a 4core 3+ghz Phenom II, getting 1.8kh/s per core

[2011-10-02 03:47:10] PROOF OF WORK RESULT: true (yay!!!)

mining on simplecoin, did I find a 'share' like you do bitcoin mining or did i find a block?

Just a share. The miner readouts will be success for anything that is not a reject.

True found blocks are only seen on the website under TBX Proportional Stats.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 01, 2011, 07:43:18 PM
Stats readout is wrong, but the pool is running quite happily.

Stats are off, but it's working.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 01, 2011, 07:07:56 PM
Just got a TBX pool up and running on http://simplecoin.us

It is experimental so please give it a run. If it holds up well I'll be moving it to the production pool server.

Tenebrix testing is live.

Remember to Log Out and Back In before using a new coin

Issue resolved. It seems the pool wanted to give you all GG for your efforts instead of BTC....

Thankfully the issue was already resolved in the merged mining code... so I just had to update and re-run the round.
233  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [65 GH][0%][BTC/GG][SMPPS/Prop/PPLNS][10 BTC Promo] - SIMPLECOIN.US on: September 30, 2011, 08:30:19 PM
BLOCK! so does that mean you will pay yourself 1BTC for finding that one? Smiley

Nope, gonna let the promo roll.

That said.... my main machine took a dump trying to upgrade to oneiric. I'm starting from scratch reinstalling programs.

I see there was an issue with the Proportional BTC block payout, I'll have it fixed as soon as I can look at the code again (Thank goodness for backups)

wtf did you guys do?
~1% stale rate on fast blocks?

that's unheard of.
lol.

Well, I'm running GG with long-polling in the client. Once the RPC is sped up it should be less. Stales are still a bit high for my taste...

GG you run includes full Joel suite, so it should include all the things that are there.

However, I do have a lingering suspicion that some more corners can be cut to get stales lower. Anyways, for 15s blocks, not bad, IMHO.

Oh, well, then I guess it isn't RPC  Lips sealed

Anyways, I also have a lingering suspicion it can be better somehow. That said, with 15s blocks it's close to solo.

Are BTCs mined here anymore? its been 9 days since our last block. Maybe risk it all and switch completely to GG in hope that it catches.  Sad

Yes, BTC is still mined.. but I think we are the only GG pool currently.

The BTC hashrate is under 20, but I think that will also change soon as the pool size increases and we are one of the first to offer merged mining.

Also, GG is now trading on BTC-E.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] New alternate cryptocurrency - Geist Geld on: September 29, 2011, 03:23:30 PM
Sorry about the outage. I was hosting GG on my old pool server for testing. It had a nasty habit of random hardware resets every week or so.

I just moved GG to the new pool server. It's been up for 20 days, which is about as long as it's been in service. It should have been down less than a minute or so (forgot to change the sql user ip for the gg pool).
238  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [30 GH][0%][BTC/GG][SMPPS/Prop/PPLNS][10 BTC Promo] - SIMPLECOIN.US on: September 29, 2011, 02:59:26 PM
I like the compactness of this latest banner, very clean!  I don't like "GH" for "GH/s" as it's just like giving the top speed of a car in miles (rather than miles per hour).  Kicking myself for not thinking of "Promo" Smiley.

Would it be easy to improve the "Est. Time To Find Block" and "Time Since Last Block" stats on the various pools.  Displaying hours and minutes is not good.  Instead, perhaps test on the duration and then display the appropriate units (so that the BTC PPLNS pool would be given in days and hours at the moment whereas the GG prop pool would be given in seconds).

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to change the time to block readouts. Perhaps I'll change it after I finish up merged mining & tenebrix.

I just moved the GG client to the main pool server. You might get an LP timeout, but it should auto adjust thanks to the proxy.
239  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Pushpool Web Frontend] Simplecoin v5.0 Opensource PHP/MySQL - NEW RELEASE on: September 29, 2011, 02:11:11 PM
I think you have to make name of pool as variable in some settings file and use it in files who send notifications and etc.

Thanks, I'll try to get that in the next version.
