Nodes are probably overloaded so I think it's a case of waiting.
It took my client (on Windows) about 30 mins before it got a connection and sync'd (with conf file). When it did connect it was fast.

Wallet now synchronised (took 30m)

Put the conf file into your APPDATA/ Rapidcoin folder and Wallet will sync in no time
It doesn't work.

Wish the pool ops would stop flooding this thread.

damn rpd.rapidhash.net got the best layout.. signed up
It's just a skin for PHP-MPOS so it doesn't really matter. It looks pretty though, and they're stable.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: February 07, 2014, 10:48:08 PM
Personally, your exchange has been awesome for me. Super fast payouts and quick deposits. A bit of lag with the smartcoin boom today - I really hope that as you grow, you don't become like Cryptsy or Coinedup which are unusable at times!

One thing I'd love to see would be an implementation of Authy for 2fa.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 07, 2014, 11:13:43 AM

Have a look at coinedup now mate, it's much better

maybe mass exit is already happaning and they put up the freaking 502 Bad Gateway Huh

Took me 40 seconds to load the homepage and about 25 to load the VTC/BTC market. Coinedup is shocking. It's not my internet connection as I can download at 35MB/s here at work.

Coinmarket.io has been super fast for deposits, withdrawals and site responsiveness. I really don't know why more people aren't using it :/

Awesome exchange so far. Fast and massively underrated.

smartcoin, when do you plan to implement Kimoto's Gravity Well? Any plans as to make this unique? Maybe adding in anonymous messaging like Neocoin?

All of those features would require a hard fork. In order for something like that to go smoothly, careful planning must be done and ideally it should only happen once in the entire lifetime of a coin. Even once is too many, but due to pressure by the community, I stuck with the original release date.

This could revive the coin quite considerably, when you are ready.

EDIT: Just saw it's in the plan. Good news.

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MEOW] KittehCoin Relaunch IS HERE!!!! on: February 05, 2014, 02:09:57 PM
 Shocked

MEOW on Cryptsy:
last trade 0.00000062
24 hour high: 0.02030991

Shame our coins weren't deposited there in time to sell Cry I only saw sells for 0.01 go through but I wonder if any did hit 0.02 for sure. Sigh.

People with Crypsy issues, please make sure you jump into here and put pressure on them to fix the problem without delay!!!!!!!!

I'm equally frustrated, but you can rest assured they're aware of it and they're already working on it "without delay!!!!!!!!!!". The idiots who are sending 3 separate support tickets to them are not helping matter. By all means vote on those posts and add a comment but flooding them with multiple support tickets isn't going to help. More pressure doesn't always result in better problem solving / quicker fixes. They'll be working to the best of their ability already.

What would be nice is a little communication from them though. The importance of that cannot be overstated imho, and it seems that it's something that many have forgotten in this "world".

Vertcoin mining rigs can now be rented @ leaserig.net

Which one mines VTC?
Exactly. Too good to be true if they will mine VTC for that price.

Thank you for the alert. This was live for two minutes and has already been fixed. The offending configuration was caching the smarty templates. Templates are no longer cached and no more information should be leaked. I should mention that there was no way for a user to withdraw or alter another user's settings. Again thank you for reporting this and thank you Boris for warning as well.

Great. Thank you for the speedy response and fix Smiley

I've just refreshed my dashboard on https://vertcoinheavyindustries.com/ and see other people's accounts - their balances, miners and hashrate.

I have alerted the pool admin via email, will see if I can track him down in IRC too

Thanks. It's showing mine again now but it doesn't inspire much confidence. The "Edit account" tab did show *my* details when I visited it (and requested to get my confirmed coin out!).

It is having a problem showing all my workers (4 of them) at times also.

I've just refreshed my dashboard on https://vertcoinheavyindustries.com/ and see other people's accounts - their balances, miners and hashrate. Security breach? Oh, and I can't use the contact form because it tells me that the captcha doesn't match, when there is no option to enter a captcha...

Sorry for the image size, I had to shrink to fit into a single screenshot even on 1920x res.

I've been trying to avoid talking about the high TX fees just to see what would happen after a while. It looks like there is a slump in the net hashrate and hash.so seems to own about 100% of the network. So a hardfork would be required to lower the fees, otherwise a real blockchain fork will happen. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, since I'd get the admin of hash.so to update his client and announce to everyone. Ideally, I'd like to add Kimoto's Gravity Well during that client release to avoid another hardfork. Any opinions on what the new TX fee should be?

Tough to say really. It seems that the clients I've used impose a tx fee of 0.001 regardless of type. Ideally the tx fee would float but I understand that'll come later probably led by Mike Hearn in a bitcoin wallet release first and foremost and it can be integrated into other wallets based off that. The coins are tough to mine so it shouldn't be too high.

How can we guarantee security given hash.so now has >51% of network?

Just wanted to say how awesome the Vertcoin installer package is. THIS is how a wallet should be released - with an installer and nodes in the config file. Boom, done, open... starts syncing immediately. Good stuff guys.
