Worked like a charm, but I still had to add $5 via PayPal to activate the account.

Couldn't get the XPM miner going so I went on plan B and I'm mining litecoins while I figure out why the g++ compiler is dying.

526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I mine Bitcoins on a laptop? on: November 29, 2013, 07:04:43 PM
cpu mining is outdated a few years ago.
You can't get anything by mining with a laptop
I'm sorry but he said he use ASIC or USB miner. Not cpu
and that would be the correct way to go about it even for a desktop. Even GPU mining for bitcoins is not profitable anymore, and low end ASICs like the block erupter have a limited lifetime before they will become obsolete (a few months probably).

BTC-e is safest way to exchange BTC to LTC.
Dont know if it is good idea when LTC is at historical top now though... seems LTC can be only worse

Isn't that what they said every time BTC hit a new high? Wink
Probably, but LTC entered into a microbubble this week, raeaching an all time high of about $48 USD/LTC late on Wednesday and it's now back down to about $36-37 USD/LTC.
Nobody is really certain which direction this currency can go right now, there's a bunch of speculation around it and it's fluctiating by tremendous amounts each minute (currently on a slight downard trend).
528  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So , why did you join bitcointalk? on: November 29, 2013, 04:48:03 PM
I've been mining on and off for about two years and been burned twice on pools that ended up disappearing from the face of earth.
Given the recent push that BTC and LTC are getting I became interested again into cryptocurrencies and decided to join this community.
