1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 180,000 BTC (old coins) have just moved on: March 08, 2014, 04:05:26 AM
White beach sounds nice haha.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: Are there any publicly traded companies in the bitcoin business? on: January 21, 2014, 01:39:57 AM
Assuming you're looking for a company that's publicly listed so you can invest and ride the growth of bitcoin in a different way than actually investing in the currency? Haven't heard of any companies going public - and even if they did, it would be extremely difficult to get your hands on the IPO shares.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Social Experiment on: January 17, 2014, 11:29:44 PM
LOL! The experiment is trying to see whether people will donate Bitcoins or not! (Maybe.. I'm just guessing).
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Vending Machines? on: January 17, 2014, 11:28:20 PM
We're already starting to see Bitcoin ATM's (or whatever the hell you want to call them), so my question is: when will we start seeing vending machines that accept Bitcoins? Or are they already in existence and I've been living under a rock the past few years?

I'm just fascinated by seeing Bitcoins enter the public sphere with things like ATM's. Considering still that most people don't know what the hell Bitcoins are.
5  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcola idea? on: January 17, 2014, 11:26:42 PM
OR, make a cola that can only be purchased by Bitcoins! Lol, kidding, I could see little codes and giveaways like that being a really big hit!
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Woah, block solved in 20 seconds by Slush's pool. on: January 17, 2014, 11:23:53 PM
Too bad all bitcoin mining will be dead this year, Mining will be only for the millionaires.

So so so so much true! Grin
Pretty soon the cost of ASIC's will be more than a full years' worth of mining.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Phase I complete - Bitcoin is officially legitimate in 2014 on: January 17, 2014, 11:22:14 PM
They can't say it's illegal after selling it ? Of course they can.
That'd be like the FBI saying something is illegal, and then doing it anyways. They do it all the time! BUT, Bitcoins are a global interest and would mean that a LOT of people would be very upset.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Offically Announced] U.S. Set To Sell All Silkroad's Bitcoins on: January 17, 2014, 11:20:40 PM
WHEN? All this fud is lowering the price. It's going to take them months.
Better months than never!
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new way to scam newbies on: January 17, 2014, 11:15:59 PM
PS: There are at least 2 such projects, btw.
So which one are you talking about? Is the first letter an I or an E?

What are the elements which make you suspicious toward them?
^What he said. Maybe you can find something out just based on their code. If the first letter isn't an I or an E then yes, you are getting scammed.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robocoin on: January 17, 2014, 11:14:02 PM
Lol I can see it!
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Learning from Imperial Rome on: January 17, 2014, 11:00:06 PM
Can somebody here give us a brief summary as to what the OP is trying to tell us? I fear there is some sort of language barrier.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: DO NOT ALLOW TAXATION IN BITCOIN on: January 17, 2014, 10:57:33 PM
Being decentralized and anonymous, the first task of course is to figure out how exactly to tax it.
^this. It would be way to much work to isolate who uses Bitcoins, determine the tax rate, and then implement it when it's so scattered.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: CryptoForex 101 Guide for Trading on: January 17, 2014, 10:55:39 PM
Yes, Youtube is a brilliant idea! While there are already Youtube channels out there dedicated to Bitcoin information, you could still jump on the train!
14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The cost of running asics on: January 17, 2014, 10:54:11 PM
Doesn't matter! You make it all up in the blocks that you mine Smiley
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Phase I complete - Bitcoin is officially legitimate in 2014 on: January 17, 2014, 10:51:39 PM
I can't believe we made it this far. Shit was scary when mt gox got their bank accounts seized. Now we are officially legitimate. When the fbi sells the coins, it's sealed. Because they can't say thanks for the money, now theyre illegal.

Phase II is now, not price stability, but a solid price floor. I cant wait until the price is impossible to move below $1000. At that point Bitcoin is officially successful and nothing can ever stop it.

Getting replaced? Never. Look at ipv6, its 2014 and its at 0. ThIs forum doesn't even support it and we have amazing coders here. As Andreas said, "it's good enough."

Phase III is love.

Wow, you seem very attached to Bitcoins lol. But I'm with ya, especially with the part about there not being a replacement. Either a.) Bitcoins are never replaced and grow into a respected currency. Or b.) They are shut down  and banned as they don't promote the National level.

I don't see anything replacing them.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robocoin on: January 17, 2014, 10:49:45 PM
Will these be protected by Robocops?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lawyer says Winklevoss ETF process going smoothly on: January 17, 2014, 10:46:25 PM
good that bitcoin is taken more seriously now Cheesy
Could be bad or good. The more eyes on Bitcoin means more chances for bad things to happen (ex: bans)
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Social Experiment on: January 17, 2014, 10:44:35 PM
I woullddddd but I'm currently trying to BUILD my wallet, not donate it to science Smiley
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin not legal tender in Canada on: January 17, 2014, 10:43:18 PM
Interesting.. ya know, the more I think about it, the more I believe nations will ban Bitcoins and deem them "unconstitutional" or whatever they need to.. Decentralized things never go over very well with governments
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A new way to scam newbies on: January 17, 2014, 10:37:12 PM
People have been scamming every type of currency since the beginning OF currency. I doubt seeing the DAC attempting to scam Bitcoins will come to much of a shock to anyone.
