1421  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where will the price stop ? on: June 26, 2019, 11:04:23 PM
Why do you want bitcoin market price stop? Most of the users here are praying for it to have a bull run so that they can earn huge profit in it when they think that ATH had been reached. This probably another history records that will going to happen after experiencing bad happenings on 2018 where most of the users speculated bull run but it did not happen.
1422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia, Philippines, Indonesia and India support crypto the most on: June 26, 2019, 10:56:29 PM
I can tell that Philippines had supported cryptocurrency but the government remain neutral to this as long as there were no complain in regard to the matter. Now that there are ponzi investment scheme running in our country (I think this is common in every country of a Ponzi investment scheme)  which uses already the block chain in their pay out and pay in system. This will enable them to be discreet and will definitely will be difficult to track down.
1423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's bitcoin worst case scenario if Libra will be successful? on: June 26, 2019, 10:52:06 PM
USDT is also a stable coin peg to USD currency but it has nothing to worry where bitcoin and the likes of this coin can still synchronize in the cryptocurrency market especially in the exchange. Probably since we are digital nowadays when bitcoin rises up still these stable coins will remain in their  value to which when trading with btc all return can do will be basing on the value of the stable coin peg with fiat currency.
1424  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Steps to check potential phising links on: June 26, 2019, 10:43:03 PM
Nice one OP thank you for the wonderful information younhave shared. Yes, I have been a victim of phishing before with one of my online games account and had been careful enough to visit any sites to which it leads me.not to visit at all possible phishing sites I think.

Now that I have the idea on how to check possible phishing sites then for sure I can go visit sites and have the idea on identifying it if it is a possible phishing site. Thanks to this OP.
1425  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ ELI5 ] Binance vs Coinbase on: June 26, 2019, 03:11:57 PM
Use a non-custodial wallet, a wallet that pretty much only YOU has control over. As long as you don't download a fraudulent wallet and your device stays clean of malware, no one can take your bitcoin. Exchanges, by the name itself, should be used as an exchange.

Some reading material for you to know the difference between the types of wallets(don't be lazy, it's for your own good):
None of the choices are wallets that are non-custodial and instead it is being held both exchages can reset password on the wallet exchanges.

So, it is advisable to buy hardware wallet but it is somehow better also to create online wallet where it will be safety for an investors.
1426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Problems with sending transaction on: June 26, 2019, 03:05:17 PM
Sometimes ETH network is clogged with thousands of transaction being made over a period of time. So if is pending then waiting is the best way to avoid any troubles in sending any crypto.

I have search on google before about how to cancel transactions as we all.know that all transaction to be made when one does approve the sending transaction will not be able to undo it unless you will going to do this.

Pending status - remedy - send small eth amount on your own wallet address. I did not try this but this is one thing being suggested to cancel pending transactions.
1427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice for newbies on: June 25, 2019, 10:25:49 PM
aside from that buying hardware wallets may be better but one should not only focus on having one wallet to put all eggs. Cold wallets or online wallets may still be vulnerable to hacks but these cold wallets are better than exchange wallets.

Well OP, how much does a cold or hardware wallets costs? I am interestes to buy one. LOL.
1428  Economy / Reputation / Re: Promotion with merit system and new rank requirements. It's possible. on: June 25, 2019, 10:16:16 PM
A simple and short explaination on how one will get merit is his/her knowledge and expertise. Thus, the ticket in order for one to receive merits that even if how good one to use the enlish language but still good inputs like quality posting will be the key in getting merits. If one does not have the right qualification, then one can't write quality posts and neither can get merits. It os very simple that most of the users here or the merit source itself will favorable on givimg merits to a post like this one OP that requirez good knowledge about the forum and cryptocurrency.
1429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best country for crypto on: June 25, 2019, 10:10:11 PM
Literally not US because the government wants to regulate all the possible cryptocurrency in the market and they had issued some crypto ban on other coins like the ICO projects. Aside from that the government is selective in letting people join and invest in a cryptocurrency project based by letting them join after qualifying the requirements needed in able to join like having a huge money income so as to minimize the low income earners to risk their money in the investment of crypto project based.
1430  Other / Meta / Re: Epochtalk is ready, theymos wants us to test it. C'mon... on: June 25, 2019, 04:23:33 PM
Hopefully that theymos will going to announce it here that the new forum will be officially open to all the users in the bitcointalk forum. For now, I am still using the bitcointalk forum but will probably will going to change if theymos wants every user to move in the new forum.

Anyway bump for this thread so that other users may visibly seen this post and can try the new forum, the future of bitcointalk and the cryptocurrency forum.
1431  Other / Meta / Re: Time Series Analysis on Distributed Merits in the forum (daily, weekly, monthly) on: June 25, 2019, 04:17:18 PM
I have been idolizing this OP for I have seen few of the OP's post about statistics and graphs. It takes time to make it and good statistical calculation and how to represent it to a graph.

And yes, in the likes of this post are helpful especially to the admins that are doing the check and balance for the forum statistics through statistical reports.

I can only help you with this OP by bumping youe thread so that merit or distrubution of merits will be analyzed based on the given data and graph you presented.
1432  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Ban Period is key in case you get Perma-Ban Lifted. Don't Burst Meta! on: June 25, 2019, 04:10:02 PM
In my own case for those user that are just being banned on wearing for signatures only prove that you as a user has contributed for the forum and one can sti do it because it is only the wearing of signature was only being prohibited or not functioning for one can still post without any signatures to wear. And that is one great news, we do not own the forum but we are given the privlige to be here to learn about cryptocurrency and at the same time to earn.
1433  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism or not? on: June 25, 2019, 04:04:58 PM
<...>
Your question is already answered on that thread:

- Your initial post is plagiarism, since you copy/pasted an article without adding a reference.

- After being pointed out, you added the reference to the article. That technically lets you off the hook from there on.

- Nevertheless, as I mentioned in that same thread, unless it’s something pressing (i.e. virus alert or this evenings lottery winning numbers), simply performing a copy/paste and adding a source is pretty lazy, and may even be considered a low value post. Really, simply invest 10-15 minutes to summarize it, or to add a versed opinion (in favour, against, whatever). That could bring something to the table that is worth discussing.

In short, no, with the added reference it is not plagiarism technically, although I personally see no added value. Somebody could have reported you on your initial OP, since it lacked the source which was added later. If a mod would have processed the report before you added a link, then he would have nuked your account …

Edit: I assume you are not banned, since this OP on Meta is not a Ban Appeal.
LOL, the content has answered already its topic title and I agree with DdmrDdmr. Anyway, it is a good thing to ask here everything that is unclear or confusing you OP and you can move this to BEGINNERS AND HELP SECTION. All possible questions can be posted in that section and there are thousands of users being active there and will definitely will help you on the queries. Now, that OP had a lot of answers from the reply then you can lock this thread already. It is nice to visit this thread and do the post since it is answerable and easy to reply.

1434  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced merit UI [1.1] on: June 25, 2019, 03:59:36 PM
What a very nice Input of you OP. As this could be helpful especially to the merit source on giving merits on quality posts. Well, this should be integrated by the bitcointalk forum itself. You can PM theymos for this OP having a new feature an easy, fast and reliable way on giving merits. Congratulations OP for this.
1435  Other / Meta / Re: Have a whole forum for the Satoshi topics on: June 25, 2019, 03:47:43 PM
What do you think Satoshi had for breakfast?

Is Satoshi really Bill Clinton?

I think Satoshi lives next-door to me.

How many Bitcoins do you think Satoshi has?
That would be annoying OP. If I were you, I will going to lock this thread and respect the global moderators with the post that help you in realizing instead. The satoshi topics had been discussed in this forum over and over again and even satoshi was link or known to be theymos but they do not have proof and that is one difficult to discuss without them giving us the idea on who are they.
1436  Other / Meta / Re: Have a whole forum for the Satoshi topics on: June 25, 2019, 03:40:58 PM
No, they should just be locked and trashed.
I was expecting this from being close or even has the idea about the making of the forum. Yes, I do agree that it should not be discussed the origins of the founders for this is beneficial to all users here in the forum. I would rather not talk about it also for I have my empathy on them knowing that their lives could be in danger if their identity will be known. Besides, the forum is working well with only theymos as sole admin known in this forum. Congrats to theymos as this is one big forum that he/she had and a lot of issues and concerns had been raised especially in the meta section of heavy ban appeals. If I am in theymos place then I will scratch my head even if it is not itchy with those spammers, scammers, fraudster and etc. around.
1437  Other / Meta / Re: script for check requirements for next rank on: June 25, 2019, 03:37:14 PM
If anyone is interested I could also make a web version with django. In any case, thanks for the merits.
 Cheesy
You deserve it OP, anyway is it your work doing the script? I can't tell if it is easy or not to make it because I am not an IT expert or a programmer. I just think that it is hard to do but since if it is your doings and expertise then maybe it is easier for you OP.
1438  Other / Meta / Re: This account is a Ban Evader, proof on post #7, Mod pls use ban hammer?! on: June 25, 2019, 10:09:56 AM
Well, there are threads OP that you can submit report like this from Loycev's thread though it may not be a plagiarism but still the forum have rules for ban evasion. Well, hope to see the reply from russ512 and will wait if there will be a fight to happen. LOL. Kidding.
1439  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin paywall on: June 25, 2019, 09:38:32 AM
At the moment, the only coin I accept in payment is Bitcoin. I'd like to expand this, but I haven't done the required homework yet. For example, I suspect that I should be accepting Litecoin. I'm not sure where to open good discussions about alts here on Bitcoin talk. I've also picked up some Basic Attention Token, Steem, and Bit Blocks, and I would like to hear opinions about the future of these coins. Perhaps it would be useful to have child boards for the more established coins, and they could be moderated to remove low value negative posts.

Etherium, Ripple and other blockchain structures seem to be evolving and expanding, and we need to be discussing those in some detail. The new FaceBux is also indicative of future trends, and if Bitcoin Talk is going to stay as a significant platform in the new crypto world, it will need to build communities of enthusiasts for these new ventures.
Well, there are already good users discussing about the future of this coins as we consider those alts as strong altcoins as what you have stated like the litecoin for example. And if child board will be created for this then surely spammers will not have any restriction then it will probably destroy the board. However, it could be prevented like the removal of signatures so it will be less attractive for the spammers to post irrelevant replies in every threads to be brought up for discussions.

I am supporting this notion as I am also holding good altcoins like BCH, XRP and ETH to which I think will have also a better future in cryptocurrency.
1440  Other / Meta / Re: 1miau Merit source application on: June 25, 2019, 09:24:56 AM
Let me help you OP, of course the more merit source, the happier it will be. I am supporting every possible merit source here in the forum for it will be beneficial to all users in the forum to have a better merit distributions though theymos does have already its own ways on promoting and preserving the forum. So, all of this applications are subject for approval and it is the admins discretion on choosing one.

All I can do as a user seeing that this could be a beneficial to the users in the forum is just by bumping this thread. Hopefully you will get it OP.
